Ordered three things tonight to be delivered. Tibit for three(7.75) Lg Peking ravioli(875) and a small pork lo mein(5.00) I expected a delivery charge or three dollars and tipped five, but instead got charged 22.75 and NOLOMEIN. They claimed they didn’t hear me, but she repeated sm lo mein to me over the phone. It clearly says on their website, no delivery under $ 20. so what they did was not include the lo mein and charged me $ 20 + tax. They charged me 16.50 + tax and the remainder was an extra delivery charge for being under $ 20. Second time this has happened, by the way. Great way to make extra, but I’ll never go back. The food is mediocre at best. Customer service counts for 75 percent in my book and it’s lacking big time.

I have tried the Beverly Jade a few times, since I live locally. I have to say that I have never had a «bad» meal here, but the food is not«outstanding». Passable would be more like it, although the Crab Rangoon is something special! I usually order at the restaurant to take out so I can not comment on the wait staff in the dining room, but the person who takes your order for take out is extremely brusque and borders on being rude. If you have a hankering for Chinese and do not want to trek to Essex, MA, give them a try.

This place is terrible. I have been here a few times and I’ve never been treated like I was last night. First off I had to order $ 20 of food when my meal was only $ 8.95, so I ordered a pupu platter for one($ 10) which came out to $ 21 and change. Then when I added a Coke, it was $ 25 and change. Okay, if you’re charging me an extra $ 4 it’s a 2L right? So at first they call me cause they had the wrong address. Then when the delivery guy comes, I get the food but no drink. I just spent $ 25 on food to get a $ 9 meal, and tipped the guy $ 7 when I live less than a mile away, just bc it’s the holidays. Then I call the restaurant when I realize the drink I paid $ 4 for is missing. The woman on the phone said oh they did forget the Coke, I’m sorry can you come and get it? No, that’s why I got delivery… «Oh okay well we will give it to you next time» what do you mean next time? «Next time you order we will give you a Coke» I don’t want a Coke next time I want it now I just paid $ 25 for my food and gave the guy a $ 7 tip just so I could get some food. «What??» I repeated myself, so she goes«oh! Well I can have them being it to you can you wait outside? I will come bring it to you myself» hmm… Okay fine. I go outside and she showed up within 2 min with A CANOFCOKE. I PAID $ 4FOR A CANOFCOKE? whatever so I say thank you take it and go inside. She’s looking at me and driving slowly as if she thinks I’m going to tip her. I just way over paid for food and a drink and tipped the last guy that didn’t bring the drink I paid for, and I got a hard time about getting the drink. So then I’m eating. I have been here at least a handful of times before, never delivery. The chicken did not taste the same, it had too much batter and it was very sweet, it had no hot peppers in it(general gaus). I asked for extra soy sauce which I did not get. I didn’t even eat the pupu platter, I only had a beef teriyaki, which was okay. I’ve never had such a bad experience here with the food and service. In addition the receipt they gave me was a slip that said my address, and the total amount, $ 25.xx. Where is the list of what each item costs? I will NEVER order from here again. They completely overcharge then don’t provide your order and say they will give it to you next time. Bihh there’s no next time!

Overcharged for a luncheon special here. Didn’t type anything into the register. Looking for a little extra off the books i guess. Unlikely to return. Mediocre food.

So I ordered take out here. The crab rangoons were a lil too onion-y for my tastes. I’m on a mission to find the best tasting crab rangoons, and I hate the crunch of onions, so it’s been a challenge so far. one thing that really turned me off was when you opened the door, there was a stench in the vestibule. Maybe like stale smoke and another scent that I couldn’t identify. Once I opened the door to the dining room, the smell was gone and the looks of the dining room surprised me. I thought it would be run down because of the first impression, but it was not bad from the looks of it. When I ordered over the phone, a male answered that had crystal clear english, Total relief! Will I return? Probably not considering Kiki’s in salem has a better ambiance/first impression and better parking sitch. When I came in the early afternoon, the bar looked full, but the dining room was empty. Seemed like there were a lot of regulars.

Pretty good chinese food. Had take out and ordered a white mai tai, which was really great. We ordered veg. rice, chicken fingers, crab wontons and mushu chicken. All were very tasty, not super oily(which is nice since most chinese places load food with oil) and overall had a great experience. I think that mai tai also helped through this food journey. Enjoy this place, to go or eat in!

I am sorry to say that, in my opinion, Beverly Jade has gone seriously downhill since they first opened. It used to be when I ordered vegetable egg foo young or fried rice it was loaded with real vegetables — asparagus, broccoli, etc. Today, I got bean sprouts only(yawn). To make matters worse, they charged extra for vegetarian on the lunch special and they still had pork in the lo mein! Very disappointing. I doubt I will be returning again. Why is it so impossible to find decent Chinese(or pizza) around the North Shore? We seem to have an overabundance of both and they all serve the same low quality food. I would really love to find a few everyday restaurants that serve food that tastes better than a tv dinner. Unfortunately, Beverly Jade is not it.

Yick. This place is low-brow Chinese. I suppose if that’s what you’re looking for, then you’re all set. The vestibule reeked of cigarettes. The sidewalk outside the door was filthy. The interior was, uh, retro. Zero atmosphere. If it weren’t for my handicapped relative, I would have turn around and run to Gourmet Garden in Swampscott. Unilocalers, I went here because of your reviews. You surprise me.

This is hands down my favorite place for Chinese food. The service is great, the food is always great as well. The crab rangoon is the best I’ve found anywhere, and the drinks are always strong.

I love there food. Best crab rangoons around this area. I will say that I’m a little disappointed by the cocktails they aren’t strong at all. Every Chinese place has to have strong beverages! The servers and owner are great. I prefer getting take out than eating in.

We stop by once in a while for a drink or two and to meet friends, and the bottom line is that the usual bartender/owner does a great job taking care of his customers, and makes a mean drink. We obviously like the mai-tais, but the finer detail is the white mai tai, a favorite of my significant other. You’ll have to try one to find out. I won’t rave about the food, but its not bad in the slightest. Normally if I’m getting Chinese its take-out, and in that case my go-to is another place but I have had plenty of good meals at the jade. We have often used a big table in the dining room to kick off pub crawls, have informal going away parties for friends, or just meet up a bunch of friends for a bite before going out for the night. As a friendly tip, the bar side can be townie/cronie and could be uncomfortable during busy hours(later at night) if you don’t know anyone, but the man behind the bar will take care of you like a regular regardless.

I have to say that I was largely disappointed when I ordered the Lunch Special. I got Beef with Broccoli, Egg Rolls, Steamed Rice, and some kind of soup(wonton?). Perhaps I ordered wrong, but regardless you feel pretty satisfied for such a great value.

We’ve been trying to find a new favorite chinese place since moving to Beverly and on a whim tonight we tried here. Search complete! The dinner special Orange Chicken could have fed two+ people and had to be close to a pound of white meat chicken with a thin crispy coating and just the right level of spicy sauce. We’ll definitely be back!

I think this is *the best* Chinese restaraunt in Beverly!(I’ve only been to four, though). Fast service, friendly staff, reasonable prices and … terrific food! Crab rangoons — the best I’ve had anywhere. Soups — egg drop, hot n sour… very good Gen Gau’s chicken — great! Pork fried rice — excellent My son and I have’t had a bad meal yet, and will continue to come to Beverly Jade for all our Chinese food service(they won him over as he had 2 other«favorites» before coming here with me) Will definitely be going back again!

I love this place, we eat here for lunch a couple times a month(one co-worker eats here 2 – 3 times a week) he loves the Pork Fried Rice Boneless Spare-Ribs and General Gau’s; not to mention the well made drinks rum and coke! The bartender does a phenomenal job. Me personally, I love the Beef terriyaki and the Sweet and Sour Chicken. Fried Wonton’s are great too. Very inexpensive and convenient. Will go here many times. Very Clean, Very well kept!

Best Chinese in Beverly, hands down. And I have actually tried them all. The real problem is, it is the only half way decent Chinese in Beverly. Every other place is terrible. The prices are a bit higher than most take out places, but the quality is far superior to what you’ll get in this area. The steamed dumplings are great, definitely not frozen or pre-made. The chicken and broccoli had lots of flavor and wasn’t too greasy. Sweet and Sour Shrimp was great as well. Bar area is very nice, lots of TV’s, seated dining area seemed very nice as well. Dynamite lunch specials, great bargains. Every day but Sunday — 11:30 — 3:00. Open late too I think. 11 or later.

Do not confuse Beverly Jade with China Jade. China Jade is in North Beverly near the highway and Beverly Jade is on Rantoul. First off, I was surprised at how clean and well kept the interior is. The place is split into 2 sections a bar and a seating area. The bar is full and well stocked. We did not partake in any drinks today and opted for the hot tea. The place was deserted except for 1 other person in the bar and the various take out patrons that streamed in and out. On Sunday they offer the Dinner Special menu all day. Prices range from $ 7 to $ 12. I ordered Cashew Chicken with fried rice and Crab rangoon. My partner ordered Chicken Chow Mein with Fried Rice and an egg roll. First off the crab rangoon was not over cooked or overly oily. It wasn’t particularly crabby but it was tasty. The egg roll was full of meat and cabbage spiced with 5 spice powder. The egg roll was wonderful and looked and tasted as though they roll them there. Score 2 points for that. The fried rice was good but not great. It also was not overly greasy. It contained just enough pork to make me happy. My cashew chicken was good, well cooked though a bit on the salty side. My partner’s chow mein was VERY good. The vegetables tasted as though they had been freshly prepared and sauted just moments before. It was not overly sweet or salty. The staff was very friendly and nice. I appreciated that they were not overly attentive but as soon as we were done eating they noticed and asked if we wanted anything else or wanted to take anything home. I much prefer the hands off approach to the overbearing waitstaff. It’s clear that this is a family establishment. The kid who greated us was doing home work behind the counter and looked enough like the waitress that I assume she was his mother. It looks as though they do a strong take out business, in the 45 minutes we were in there I saw more than a dozen customer come in and pick up large orders. The food is Americanized Chinese but it’s very well prepared, the place is beyond clean and the staff is friendly. What more can you ask for in Americanized Chinese food? It’s almost a shame this place is tucked away on Rantoul Street across from several crappy bars. This place is 900 times better than China Buffet on Cabot St. Given the location and the riff raff hanging around Rantoul I’m not sure I’d want to walk here if I had a late night craving.

I never thought i would give any«jades» over 2 – 3 stars after China Jade in Beverly(please read my review if u wanna know the reasons) until I met Beverly Jade. It opens late which is so MONEY when u just wanna eat late night, chill with friends and get fat. Their chef use to work in Hong Kong and Chinatown in Boston before moving up to Beverly Jade 4 years ago — solid credentials – (hope that helps in providing the extra push the get ur butt here to try Beverly Jade). It’s no Su Chang’s. But I gotta admit, for a small joint in the middle of crappy Beverly, I’m surprised. Fried rice was amazing. Crispy orange beef had a bit too much sauce but overall pretty good. Their dishes were less greasier than many of the chinese joints i’ve experienced. All of their dishes were about $ 7 and it came with an appetizer of your choice, fried rice and a main dish. Beverly Jade’s cheap price, cleanliness and friendly servers all contribute in pushing 3.65 is rating to a 4 star on Unilocal(it could easily be 3 stars).
