The service is good but the food quality here is so bad. Ordered a slice of pepperoni and got cheese with pepperonis thrown on top and served almost cold

I have gone to this place for a long time. I Love their pizza but for months now it has gone down hill. Sometimes you would get a good pizza and other times it would be terrible. I noticed they have new people all the time. I want the delicious pizza they use to have. I hope they get their ____together!

With my grandaughter for lunch. Ordered off the 5 in 5… It’s been about 20 mins. Then I look up and there are 4 men at the pizza oven. What’s the problem? By the way… They have hots and oregano. Why no Parmesan cheese? Got my pizza… Not even hot! 13.24 for 4 slices of pizza and it’s not hot! Most places have become such a disappointment.

This is actually a good, but sad review… The Good — I ordered pizza and wings the other night, and the pizza was actually not bad. I ordered a rustic pizza, and it was cooked properly. The staff was nice, although it did take longer to get my pizza than they said. I was really surprised the pizza was as good as it was. The Sad — Beverly has a hundred pizza shops, and the best pizza comes from a chain — Papa Gino’s. That’s despicable.

I’ve gone here a bunch of times for lunch and it’s usually pretty average-good. Papa Gino’s is a great quick place to grab a lunch in New England and I’ve been going all my life(I even worked at one in high school!) Unfortunately… The last time I went there(and I stress last time) I ordered a chicken cutlet sub with mayo and lettuce(a Papa Gino’s favorite of mine for all of my life). Well, the chicken looked really cooked, a dark golden brown, on the outside but was completely raw on the side… I found out after taking a large bite. And I mean raw, not even half-cooked on the inside. The most concerning thing is that their chicken gets cut in half by the cook before it is put in the sub and he did not even notice it, even though the ‘inside’ was facing up out of the top of the sub… When I placed my order, it was around 2PM, after the lunch rush and the staff were socializing pretty heavy which I don’t usually mind as a customer(I’m sure they are buried during lunch and want to just blow off some steam) but not at the expense of rushing through orders and serving raw food in order to flirt with the girl on the register… I brought my sub back to them(I got it to go) and, while mortified, the manager and staff *asked* if I wanted my money back… I replied by saying«Yes, let’s start there and go up…» kind of sarcastically and then they offered to make me another, which after having a mouthful of raw chicken is not what I had in mind. Maybe a gift card for a couple of lunches, in an effort to retain my business once I get over the disgusting visual of purple chicken in a sub roll would have been a good move but alas, I got my money back and that was the end of it(and I stress end of it). What makes matters worse, is the same thing happened to me at the Malden location a few years ago. You know what they say, «Fool me once, shame on you…»

I used to love Beverly’s Papa Gino’s, but no more. The employees are some of the most incompetent«workers». They can’t seem to get a simple order right. My very well done burger was still mooing, and my fries I ordered with NO salt came LOADED with salt, even after making it very clear I was on a no salt diet. Employees are rude too. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. After many chances, and many screw ups, I will not be going back ever again.

I lived on the west coast for a few years and this was always my first food stop when I came back for a visit. The pizza is always good! This is NOT the typical Greek pizza with the gooey gross oily cheese and stupid doughy crust its the perfect blend of sauce and cheese and just the right amount of spice/salt. I’m a pizza purist so its cheese only and I order mine well done so that the crust isn’t floppy. I always call ahead so the pizza is ready when we get there because this particular shop can be quite busy.

Ordered take out with friends and was told the pizza would be delievered in 30 minutes. One hour later, the pizza was not around. I was suprised that we were still charged the full price with such slow service. If you want slow service at full price, come to this pizza joint.

Clerk was very pleasant and apologetic but no pie should take 35 mins. In 600 degree oven it’s 5 mins, right? Plus just a couple minutes to make it… place seemed very disorganized; pizza cook was getting yelled at by box lady for missing orders. Maybe my order was an anomaly but the pizza itself was not worth returning for either, so the extended wait time is icing on the cake in terms of our desire to never return. Salem House of Pizza is our local favorite now that Upper Crust has closed. the cheese twists were good here(mozza sticks, basically)

I was craving pizza and decided to stop here for a slice since I work down the street. The girl at the register was nice enough but the pizza itself was gross, even by Papa Gino’s standards. Dry, cardboard crust while the rest of the slice was soggy and super greasy. I will not be returning, looks like I need to find another pizza place in the area to order from in the future.

I order pizza from this place with regularity. I’m sad to say that the driver knows me. Sigh. After my last experience I’ll likely order from somewhere else. I get the same thing every order: large rustic Hawaiian, buffalo tenders and a 2 liter coke. First off, 3 of the last 4 times I’ve order they have been out of coke. They call and ask if I’d like three 20oz bottles in it’s place. I don’t but I always accept the offer. Later I realize they really owe me 4 of the small bottles, to equal one 2 litter bottle… For my most recent order I skipped the coke, figuring they’d just be out of it anyway. How does a pizza place run out of coke? Here’s a hint for whoever does the ordering: Order more! The buffalo tenders are perfectly done, spicy and not greasy served with your choice of sauce. Yum! The rustic Hawaiian pizza is usually awesome. It’s pineapple and capricola! Sweet and slightly spicy! Yes so good! I always get the sauce on it light so I can fully enjoy the pineapple. Normally the pizza is consistently good. Not this time. I admit I usually order on a Friday or a Saturday and the pizza is cooked to a perfection. Tonight my pizza was overcooked, too much cheese loaded on and worst of all greasy. The crust was nearly burnt as well. There is a difference in well done and burnt. It was also barely warm. What the heck? All I can think is that they have a new pizza cook because this one sucked. I didn’t even notice that the pizza was late until the delivery driver asked me if I’d had an issue with any of the other drivers recently. I said no and asked why and he told me that the 2 delivery drivers had left my order behind on the counter. Turns out my driver was the manager. I said normally the drivers are very good but I usually order on the weekends. Weird right? I also noticed that they removed the«give your driver a tip» spot on the receipt for me to sign. I’m order via the website becuase I don’t have cash, obviously they must want me to tip the driver in some manner other than adding $ 2 to my bill. Too bad for them I don’t have the sleeping with my pizza delivery driver fantasy so I cannot tip them with sexual favors. I’ll wait a few months before I order from here again

Bad, Bad Bad, BAD!!! The crust(it shouldn’t even be called crust) of the pizza was so thin I could’ve probably put a slice in my printer, typed this review and printed it out with no problem but I didn’t want to ruin my printer with what was supposed to pass for cheese. $ 17 bucks for an extra lg cheese pizza at Papa Gino’s. I won’t pay $ 17 bucks for a cheese pizza at The Upper Crust so what was going through my head I’ll never know. I’m surrounded by great pizza in this city too. Joe’s, Little Italy, Marias to name a few, and I decide on Papa Gino’s which is one step lower than Dominos. Pure crap. I’m feel ashamed.

Hey I love this Rustic Pizza. The crust has an awesome flavor. Had it 1st time last night 1 Pepperoni and Mushroom, 1 Italian Sausage, Onions and Mushrooms and it gets a thumbs up from me. I’d do it again.

no papa gino’s on the west coast, so when i stumbled upon this place, i thought i should give it a try. staff was really friendly and personable. the food was not bad for a fast food italian place. i even considered the meatballs delicious. all in all a decent experience in a decent place. at least i know i can rely on one chain restaurant while im here.
