I love Dunkin Donuts. Period. Coffee, food, speed of service — all are usually a great value for the price. Being a chain of stores, I would expect some variation based on owner and individual store practices, but I also expect many things to remain constant from one location to the next, like the quality of the staff. The food is always consistent, and always good. Regardless of the time of day, there is usually a good selection of fresh-baked goods to choose from. Coffee and other beverages here are hit-or-miss. Hot coffee and coolattas are usually acceptable, but the iced coffee almost always tastes burned. In the event I end up with an iced coffee that doesn’t taste bad, it’s usually the wrong flavor due to worker error, which brings me to my next point: service. Perhaps I am paying less than $ 5 for breakfast and coffee, but I expect service to be decent. On a number of occasions, I have walked into the lobby and waited(the only person in line) for 4 minutes to be served. More accurately, I waited 4 minutes before I walked out. Another common occurrence is when ordering through the drive through, the person taking my order doesn’t listen and I end up with something completely wrong; and yes, I repeat my order to give them another shot at getting it right. You may be wondering why I still frequent this establishment given the tone of my review. When they get my order right, they do it really well. However, they are the only place for me to get breakfast that is open as early as I need. If there were another DD on my way to work, I would definitely go there instead.
