I work in Raymond about an hour away and someone brought in two dozen of the BEST donuts that I have enjoyed in years!!! Dunking Donuts, no comparison. Holy Donut in Portland, nope. Tony’s Donuts also in Portland, sorry you are second fiddle to the donuts from here. Thank you for making me smile this morning.

Wow, Reilly’s used to be the only go-to place for good donuts(sorry, I do not like the Dunkin D «donuts», so let’s not even go there) in the Biddo-Saco area; now we gots new competition from this branch of the Sanford-based Dirty Dozen Donuts & Bakery. I used to hear from my crew, if you go to Sanford on business, you just have to go to Dirty Dozen and pick up one of their apple fritters. Now you just have to head on down to Biddeford! I thought, driving by, that it must be the latest installation of the hipster takeover of downtown Biddo, but I could tell within 5 seconds of entering the fragrant store that the ladies here speak Mainer, not Portland-ese. So you can feel comfortable that noone is going to be squeezing you for $ 3 for an arugula-quinoa donut! We tried the gamut, from Maple varieties to simple glazed to filled-in jellies and jams all the way through the chocolate variations, and it is all pretty good basic donut goodness. And at $ 10 a dozen, how can you possibly go wrong? And get this, the bacon varieties arrive on 01 November, so you have something to look forward to after Halloween. It’s kinda sad, that one of the best restaurants in the area, Dahlia’s Delights, serving healthy and tasty Vegan lunches, was replaced by a joint selling calorie-bomb blueberry jelly donuts. But the market will speak, and the Biddo clientele votes with its mouth and its dollars for dirty donuts over cute kale salads.
