Caveats: This is my first time eating at Wild Ginger, I only had a couple of sushi rolls and a glass of wine, and it was a Sunday night with very few people. The restaurant itself is big and wide open, well-decorated, and very neat and clean. Gives off an upscale, yet vintage, vibe. This is accentuated by the jazz and blues playing over the speakers and the stage in the back for a live band to play on occasion. The wine list is 2 or 3 pages long, plenty to choose from without being overwhelming. I had a nice garnacha. The sushi rolls were on the large side, so you get your money’s worth, and from the presentation to the slicing to the flavor they were nearly perfect. The chef uses the rice vinegar preparation to give the rice just the right amount of light sweetness I like and doesn’t slather on sauces, just lets the flavor of the ingredients speak for itself. I’ll definitely be back.

This was my second time to Wild Ginger and it was awesome. The first time dining there, I agree with several of the other reviews that the food was good, but the service was slow. This time though, both the food and service were excellent and we had a party of 9! The sushi is very good and the fried calamari is some of the best I’ve had. It was a Saturday night and there was a small jazz band playing which added to the great atmosphere. I would highly recommend going to Wild Ginger.

Disappointing experience. Upon our arrival, the two hostesses and several waiters were talking and ignoring us. I asked the hostess«do we sit anywhere» and the other one asked us if we had a reservation, like we were interrupting them. We sat down, and it took 10 minutes to get a server to bring menus. Our appetizers and food arrived at the same time, which was kind of annoying. The food was actually good this time, but the poor service doesn’t make up for it. The owner is more interested in turning over tables instead of service.

This was a difficult one. We waited for over 30 mins to be seated for Hibachi, and we had a reservation. They over-seated our side of the grill and one of the people in our party had to get up and move her chair every time a chef needed to get to the grill(which was 4 times). The need much better ventilation, everything we were wearing, coats included, had to be cleaned immediately. The smell was awful. The food was AMAZING. Best hibachi filet I have ever tasted. The veggies, rice, everything was great. I would return for the food but would not sit at the grill due to the poor ventilation.

The food was absolutely delicious. Our habachi chef was great and very entertaining. Although, we went around 1pm. We ordered the lunch habachi at the habachi side. We paid and double looked at the receipt and noticed that we were charged dinner prices. The manager talked to us and made us feel like we were being cheap and said it was our lucky day because she was giving us the lunch prices. When the menu clearly said it was lunch. They said they refunded us. Next day it turns out they double charged us!!! It’s been a pain trying to get ahold of them. Not going back.

I give this restaurant 5 stars based on the excellent service and atmosphere alone.(Don’t get me wrong, the food is also good) I ate there Saturday night during the busy time and we had a party of 12 on the hibachi side of the restaurant. Our servers name was Kristin and she was highly efficient and made it seem like no problem to put us each on separate checks, which made us like her right off the bat. And on top of bringing drinks out extremely fast, keeping them coming all night and being extra knowledgeable about both the food and drink menus, Kristin had an amazing personality! She had a fantastic sense of humor and made the whole experience a whole lot of fun instead of making our loud and obnoxious table of girls feel like we were an annoyance. She even went so far as to take pictures of the group on our phones at the end of the night! The hibachi chef was really talented and funny as well, and the other employees at the restaurant were also very friendly and efficient as well, making sure our large party never was left sitting without food or drinks. Very very very impressed with the whole service staff, but I must say I was particularly impressed with Kristin! I highly recommend this place for a party or special occasion, or even just a random fun night out with friends! Just make sure and request Kristin, she goes above and beyond!

This could be a very good restaurant. Service was poor. We were all seated and watched several other tables who came in after us get served first. They mixed up the wine order for two of us. When our chef arrived he was very good and entertaining. The California roll I had was good. One person at our table had the Pad Tai. She said it was pretty good Steak was tasty. Overall a good experience

Holy cow the service at this place is horrendous. First, we come in and sit and wait for 15 minutes before they come over to take our drink order. Then when the surly waitress finally took our order, I had the audacity to ask if their hot and sour soup was Thai or Chinese(or maybe another cuisine). She stops, glares at me, then goes«REALLY?»… Like how dare I ask questions about the menu. She huffed, then said«it’s all Chinese.»(Duh, of course it’s Chinese at a Japanese steakhouse?). When the soup came it was bland and lukewarm. Our hibachi guy did do a good job. He was fun and entertaining, and cooked the meat and seafood well. Veggies were pretty underdone.

Absolutely terrible service. Walked in around happy hour time only to find that there was NO happy hour. This is a restaurant downtown, c’mon!!! Wasn’t greeted. A curly red headed manager was yelling out orders to her employees and mistook me for one of them. Must have been my black shirt? Won’t be going back despite their«amazing» fish tank.
