I live in NYC but this is hands down my favorite diner. Cheap prices, generous portions. They butter the toast for you(some diners don’t). The pancakes have the perfect texture, they taste delicious, and they are HUGE. I know I’m not the only one who thinks this. I once witnessed someone throwing the door open, poking their head in, and yelling«I love your pancakes!» before going on their way. I have a favorite waitress there, but service is always good. Whenever I ran out of groceries, I would go to this diner. This includes one night when I ordered a chicken sandwich and some pancakes, sitting by myself. I’m a pretty small person. The cook bet I couldn’t finish it all myself, and offered free dessert if I could. I didn’t win that bet, but I had fun trying. It gets busy during the weekends, so sometimes there is a wait.

Friendly efficient service, reasonable prices, ample portions and good food. My omelet was filled with cheese, ham and mushrooms and had more filling than egg(which is fine with me). I wasn’t a fan of the hash browns but that’s ok as the omelet was enormous. On Sundays they only serve breakfast foods – but their breakfast menu has lots of choices. No credit cards are accepted and due to the popularity of the place it does get crowded and rather loud.

Great food for good price, large portions and food comes out quickly. Cash only though which I was not prepared for, luckily my coworker had some, but the food and service made up for that

This is by far the best diner I have ever visited for breakfast. the food is always fresh and delicious and the portions are huge. The price for a similar breakfast at restaurants I go to in DC with coffee are almost double. So today had eggs, hash and home fries. Excellent as the photo shows as well as very friendly and prompt service.

Good service, great food, and above all, reasonable prices. A wonderful little diner located in DT Binghamton. It’s a little more spacious than the Village Diner off of Floral, so you’ll typically have better luck getting seating. I had the 2×2×2 meal(2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 pancakes, and home fries) @ $ 6.75 it’s a steal! I also had the meat lover’s omlet one time — it was delicious and lasted me for 2 meals.

I’ve heard people rant and rave about Chris’ for quite a while, and decided to check it out recently. Prices are low and portions are high, so that’s always a plus. As far as the food though, I was not impressed. My wife got a ham and cheese omelet with onion. The ham was left out. OK, accidents happen. But to fix it they brought over a slice of warmed up ham steak. I guess it’s the thought that counts? Also, there was more onion than egg, by far. I’m a huge onion fan, and I couldn’t eat it without picking some of the onion out. I got sausage gravy and biscuits. The sausage gravy was good, but the biscuits were really dry and flaky. On the plus side, the service was good, and my coffee cup never ran dry. Also, they’re cash only. Which I’m not holding against them. Just a minor inconvenience.

Had the meat lovers omelet which was amazing. The meats inside the omelet were not over cooked and dried out like other places I’ve been to. The coffee was also good and never went empty. Service was quick and friendly. Definitely stopping in next time I’m passing through town. This place is cash only.

I love diners and for some reason Binghamton has a ton of them. Chris’ is by far my favorite. The prices are unbelievably low and the food quality is always great. It’s definitely diner food but it’s good diner food. It’s always crowded and the waitress are always friendly. The only negatives are their hours(I’ve gone over a few times thinking they would be open and they’re not with little to no explanation as to why) and the fact that they only take cash. Since their prices are low you’d be hard pressed to need more than $ 20 on you but when you’re in the mood for pancakes and eggs and you find yourself with no cash, it’s pretty easy to take the car a few blocks up and find an equally comparable diner.

I love a greasy spoon, a dive, just as much as the next person, but Chris’ has gone downhill over the years. And the sloping floor doesn’t help… On my last visit, the potato in my hash browns was undercooked to the point of being crunchy. That’s a big fail. They make breakfast all day! No excuses when it comes to hashbrowns. By now, they should be able to do those right, blindfolded and spun around 10 times. The coffee is bottomless, but it needs to be because it’s so weak drinking 3 cups is like drinking 1 ‘real’ coffee. Yes, it is cheap. Yes, it is a Binghamton institution. They just better go home at night and thank their lucky stars the locals are so loyal.

2015 Update: The portions, quality and service remain uncompromised. Always a pleasure to come here and be served. Our usual server, Sheila is always ultra-efficient with cheerful, diner-connective personality. Better than overpriced restaurants around the corner — The value at Chris’ is phenomenal.

Probably the best diner in all of binghamton. The service is great and the atmosphere has a homesweethome vibe. The food is supersize portions and delicious! Breakfast has never been the same; try their omelettes.

Super Nice local and friendly environment. Walk in and they are ready to take your order with a smile. Their is nothing organic or Non GMO about it, but if you are looking for a friendly classic diner breakfast this is your spot.

This is a good solid diner. We all liked out food. Nothing fancy. If you don’t like this place you’re too much of a food snob. And you’d be wrong.

A great little diner! The pancakes are really fluffy and large and delicious. The veggie omelette is everything you could hope for in an omelette-fresh vegetables and gooey cheese, yummmm. The Italian bread toast is perfect and the home fries are also excellent. Everything is inexpensive! Cash only.
