Baumhower’s

Was watching an NFL game here a few weeks back. Sadly, almost all of the TVs were on one game, and we couldn’t find anyone to change the channel of one of the TVs near us to the game we wanted to watch.
The food was good. Had the black & white chicken sandwich and cheese fries. Both were excellent. Only bad part of it was that we were brought the check almost as soon as we finished eating, and felt a little pressured to get out of there since it was very crowded.

Looking for a place to stop for lunch between church and a family Christmas party, we decided on Baumhowers.
We were immediately seated and greeted by our waitress. Drinks were brought out promptly. I ordered the char-​grilled chicken salad. Salad was iceberg plus carrots plus cabbage out of a bag, shredded cheddar cheese, and a nice size chicken breast.
Service was fast. a little too fast for me. The moment I was done with my salad, the waitress was there to pick up the plate and bring us our check. I understand she wants to move tables, but it seemed a little rushed to me.

Went today to eat and watch the SEC championship game. Waitress was sweet. She was trying to give good service. Ordered three cold bottle beers. 15 – 20 later we still don’t have it. Only three tables in the bar area. Waitress said they should be out soon. Finally asked bartender. He said he can’t make them without a ticket. They were bottled beers. Asked the next person. After 30 minutes we got our beer and the appetizer. We cancelled our food order and left. Second bad service with customer is never right attitude. We won’t go back ! Buffalo Wild Wings or On Tap Sports Bar are the places to go in Bham 289 area. Ugh !

Usually don’t have anything bad to say about this place, but tonight was not a good night. First of all, my food (char-​grilled shrimp with a side of steamed broccoli and wild rice) came out to our table cold. I looked past that, as I can understand the staff gets busy. I was fine until I pulled a hair out of my rice! Needless to say, I sent my plate back and declined any other food. They did take my meal off of our ticket, but this trip was enough that I don’t plan on returning.

The restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives in Birmingham. We came on a Wednesday night not knowing it was kids night. We thought ok this is going to be a mess. Turned out we were wrong. The server Jack was awesome. He kept an eye on us the entire time even though he had tables full of very very happy youngsters ;-). The kids night must be a great deal because the place was packed. Food was a 3 server was a 5. They get a 4.

Good sports bar. Great for kids. Good service. Lots of tvs. Cold beer. Gooey burger is delish. Moscow Mule could be improved. Ginger beer is poor.

The food is pretty tasty. The royal sandwich with chicken breast and cheese. It was delicious. We have been to this location 5+ times now. We have had a good experience all but once due to slow service because we got set in the corner.
It is your average bar grub with wings, burgers, and fish meals.

Not bad, wings are a ⁴⁄₅ and the happy hour has 1 $ 10oz beers. There are a lot of televisions to catch sports on. The tables and chairs need help (last time I was there I sat in a booth and half of the seat was duct tape which messed up my pants) and the bar smells of days old beer. Just has a dirty feel to the place overall. Could be so much better if they simply just took better care of the place. Just my opinion

My family ate here yesterday with another family from our church. We had a big group of people and we waited awhile to be seated. The girl at the podium told us the wait would be about 30 minutes and she did a good job as that was almost exactly how long we waited. She kept us informed throughout our wait so we knew we had not been forgotten. There was fresh popcorn popping in the waiting area and the kids in our group were happy with the popcorn. The two servers who waited on us were friendly and worked well together with one server gathering our drinks while the other server took our orders. Our meals came out very quickly with all side sauces and accompaniments. It was quite impressive as we had asked for several different substitutions and condiments. The manager stopped by our table several times. She brought pitchers to refill tea and cleared dirty plates. This was my first time visiting this restaurant. My family will be back and I will definitely recommend to others.

Wings wings wings!!! watching the Eagles kick the cheating Cowboys. Shelby at the bar was fantastic. Got the Eli Gold, Jamaica Jerk, and Lemon Pepper all in the Hot variant. Awesome and fantastic. Service was spectaculer. This ain’t fine dining, but you aren’t coming here for that. Great eats, crap load of tvs, burgers wings and rib sticking great food. Your glass never gets empty.

My wife and I and a friend decided to hit up the Baumhower’s Wings location at Lee Branch for a post-​Church Sunday brunch to catch up on what was happening in our fantasy football games. Overall I’d say we were a little disappointed — we were seated in a back area with a number of tv’s but the area’s layout made the viewing somewhat difficult. I ordered the lunch portion of the Hot Lips Platter and was frustrated that only half my wings were covered in the mild honey bbq sauce. I’d recommend that the staff sift the wings in a bowl to totally cover the wings rather than pouring the sauce onto the wings on the plate after cooking. The staff did great and was very congenial and the GM actually came to take away our plates when we were finished, which I definitely liked because I enjoy seeing managers willing to do what it takes in any situation. Overall I’d rate the visit as so-​so because there were definitely areas for improvement, and I’d also recommend that they make sure that all of the tables are level — it’s never good to have rickety tables with drinks on them!

Baumhower’s is a great place to go if you’re looking for a lot of options. They are or used to be know for their Wings. They’ve somewhat tried to distance themselves from that and now have an O’Charley’s type menu. This location is convenient for a quick bite before or after catching a movie at Carmike Lee Branch.
They have a full service bar and have multiple TVs to catch the big game.
