I will not go on about the is stunningly beautiful, outside as well as insaide. beautiful Cinese murals. Thet have made some changes to the floors in recent years, so now you will not slip and break your neck, first steps inside! Service is always nice. They train the staff well. Having been here many times, we have NEVER been disappointed until today. Having said that, let me reiterate that things were taken care of, expediently. We were two people for lunch. I like late lunches as to avoid crowds and noise. If you do not like noise, try to avoid this place at busy times. The acoustics will not do you any favors. I believe it is because of the enormously high ceilings and very little to catch the noise. I do not order from lunch menu’s a lot, so we ordered from the dinner menu, so we can have a second meal later. The lettuce wraps, were as always perfect. Nicely browned, crisp lettuce, generous portion. We also had the crispy spring rolls, which were served on a little bed of coleslaw. Hot, crisp, nicely filled… shiitake mushrooms… veggies…Beautiful. We ordered Sesame chicken, yes, I know boring, but often you can judge a restaurant by this dish. When it came to the table it was lukewarm… Having said that, this is deep fried and best when served piping hot! The chicken tasted like it had been around a while. That kind of dry… slightly overcooked… taste…so peculiar tio chicken. Meaning, this was NOT freshly tossed chicken. but rather pre cooked… then tossed. The second dish was the Mongolian Beef which they are famous for. It was just OK. Little on the salty side… The third dish should have been perfect. Shrimp… Lemon pepper shrimp. That dish was lukewarm as well. It was a heavily sauced dish. Thick with sauce coating each delicate small shrimp. The shrimpo basically disappeared under this cloying, overbearing, salty sauce. I ate maybe three shrimp and had to forego the rest. We also had sauteed spinach. That had been forgotten and came later, actually half hot and raw. It had some kind of soy sauce floating around the half cooked spinach. That was a mess also. I was grateful for the two appetizers. The manager did come buy and royally made up for the experience. He offered to have all three dishes be redone. We just opted for the sesame chicken. When food has not been a good experience I have no desire to take it home. Even redone. My companion, did want the chicken, so we did do that. The spinach and shrimp were taken of the tab… so that was great and generous… I have been coming to PF’s for as long as they have been open, and this was truly a first! I know sometimes things are precooked and used later, but it never improves the taste or the quality. It is a great place to go and share food… It is not true Chinese, rather an Asian blend of flavors and countries. All made for American taste buds… As long as things are great quality, piping hot, fresh… not much can go wrong in food… We will most certainly go back…

Americanized, massive chain restaurant, with corporate ran, well oiled machine, restaurant. You go here because you don’t know what real Asian food is and just hope to see some pretty people. I go once a year hoping something different. But when I leave, I say to myself, I just wasted time and money for McDonald like food.

Beautiful location, in the summit area! I love the red maple tree in front of the restaurant! Service is very quick and polite! Love the atmosphere! Went there for my birthday! Love the lettuce wraps appetizer! The rest of the food is above average! All Chinese good kind of taste the same! But I have a good time!

PF is my go to while traveling to Birmingham. My diet can get pretty strict at times, and PF is on of the few places you can get some pretty lean dishes for a fair price. Their chicken has never been dry and their veggies are always fresh and crispy. The flavor varies on meal, but considering I ask for the more bland dishes, they are still seasoned well enough for me to enjoy the meal. Wait is never longer then 10 minutes, and their online ordering system is the best of you are running on a tight shift.

PF Change… where shall I start? Their atmosphere is bold, beautiful, and grand. Sort of like C.C. Factory. I love how the give tribute to beauty of Chinese history. Anyone will love the huge paintings/murals inside this one. Anyways, let’s get down to business! Drinks at the bar: perfect for a 20 – 30 minute wait on the weekend w/out reservations(its a huge and popular mall, to be expected), good wine selection and their mixed drinks are okay as well, much more affordable than most places on this level Food: Apps menu provides the opportunity to grab sushi(I highly recommend if you like sushi) or choose from easier to eat items like Crab Rangoon, Spring Rolls, or Dynamite Shrimp(I’d like to try soon). Entrees have basics and traditional items like Chang’s spicy chicken(probably most popular), Mongolian Beef, and Shrimp dishes as well. Try their limited/seasonal items as well. Don’t forget your fortune cookie! Service: most of the time its quality w/knowledgeable staff that not only knows the menu but can tell you about the feature menu as well Great experience every time I go!

Well, this is a first… for us. We usually rate establishments that show exceptional, wow-like, or some other noteworthy qualities and we also use Unilocal as a marker/platform to inform others of good eats and to remind us of where we have been and what we have liked lest we forget. I know. I know. P.F. Chang’s? I know. But hear me out and read on… Location. Excellent in The Summit and the décor is like no other Chang’s we have frequented and we have been to a few. Most notably the one in Sandestin, FL. As we walked in and were seated, the first thing the four of us noticed was how bright, well-lit and open it was. The high ceilings and multiple walls of windows — 2+ sides had windows and the perimeter seating was raised slightly — made for an impressive atmosphere. The Food. The appetizers were standard P.F. Chang’s and good: Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Dynamite Shrimp. Vegetable Spring Rolls. The main courses were also standard Chang’s good: Honey Chicken and Chang’s Spicy Chicken for the kids. The star of the show was the Salt & Pepper Shrimp. It was simple and delicious. The chopped salted/fermented black beans made the S&P shrimp very good to our taste buds. We tried the Banana Spring Rolls and they were ok and not our type. The Berry Ginger Shortcake was my favorite and ooh-la-la good according to our daughter; the hint of ginger provided a nice balance to the sweetness of the fruit and whip cream. And the Apple Chai Cobbler was diabetically dangerous. The Cobbler, Shortcake and S&P Shrimp are ‘Let’s Do It Again’ worthy. The Service was the co-star of this night of Chang dining. Taylor was personal, attentive, talkative and a lover of food. When asked about the ‘black stuff’(beans) on the shrimp, he headed to the pantry and brought back a bag of the fermented beans to show us *and* he knew where we could purchase a bag at a local establishment(Asian Market). In between our on-going food diatribe with Taylor, both managers stopped by to introduce themselves and chit-chat. David was especially interested in why Taylor was bringing the black beans to our table. He highly recommended the Coconut Mojito that my wife thought was ‘interesting’ b.k.a. just ok. We have never experienced service of this level at a P. F. Chang’s. Food smart and friendly folks made this an experience worth sharing.

I am always pleased whenever I eat at P.F. Chang’s. I usually go with a friend and do the 2 for $ 40 deal. This comes with an appetizer to share, 2 soup selections, 2 entrées, and a dessert to split. Our waiter 2 weeks ago(I wish I remember his name!) was incredible. He was funny, friendly and polite and made sure everything was above and beyond the norm.

Not all PF Changs are created equal. Dining at Changs in over 8 states shows the difference in each franchise. Unfortunately ours here in Birmingham is not one of the top tier locations. While the staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean, their food is always sub par. My Changs chicken was over fried by a long shot. It was tough and rubbery like biting into a car tire. Flavor was also tremendously lacking as all of the peppers and such that usually come in the sauce were no where to be found. Appetizer: crab wontons were great as always. Orange edamame was soggy and not exactly tasty

I love the PF! Whenever Im craving some delicious Asian inspired food… this is my go to! Yeah… yeah. I know… this place is a chain restaurant but don’t sleep on them. I adore this chain as much as I do Bonefish & Firebirds. I especially love the P.F. Chang for Two. Its basically an entire meal for two. One app to share, individual soups & entrees, & a dessert. All for $ 40. Not too bad. The service here is always pretty good. The food & drinks as well. Beautiful Asian yet modern décor. They offer a happy hour but it seems the prices have gone up from previous years. If you’re in the mood for some Asian cuisine try them out… I think you’ll like ‘em.

I really like this location. Getting in and out of The Summit can be terrible at times. Parking for this place can be difficult also. It is almost always packed with a waiting line. Atmosphere– Super fun. Very open and nice Staff– Friendly lively awesome Food– It’s really good. I normally try to stay away from chains but love this place.

Always reliable. PF Changs is delicious. The food is really well priced for the quality and the service is –usually– good. It’s a nice weeknight staple when you just don’t feel like cooking. I personally love the Singapore street noodles or the Sichuan beef.

Keep giving it another shot and seems to not be up to par. This was my favorite in Birmingham for years. At one point I ate there twice a week minimum. Attention to Details seems to have weaken and the harder they try… the worse it gets. Last two trips food was just too salty. I think some micromanaging is in order to get this place back in check.

I was taking a PF Changs for my birthday November 13th2015 in the summit it was too crowded too busy too noisy very impersonal they rush you to eat and to get out I would never go back there again I’ve had better food at carnation buffet in Bessemer Academy Drive. I would not give this not even one star

Definitely changed cooks here and processes. You do not get the famous sauces to mix anymore. I asked for salt and pepper and I was given a small bowl of salt. I had to ask for the spicy sauce and It came at the end of our meal. First time ever the food was not that great. Pf changs you need to look into what the problem is. Our waiter was great but definitely over worked with to many tables.

Always a great choice, the Birmingham location doesn’t disappoint. We have been there many times over the years & the experience has always been good. The last few times have been especially wonderful because we have been lucky enough to get Brooke as a server. You should ask to be seated in her section when you go. Just stellar service. Best service my wife & I have had in Birmingham — bar none. The food is always good. We love the lettuce wraps & the Ma Po Tofu. Do yourself a favor & go experience great customer service. It is a rare find these days, but Brooke is the best.

Ok so now I have actually been to PF Changs a couple of times and it’s been pretty good. It has a great atmosphere the service is pretty good as well. The first time I had the Mongolian beef with steamed rice and its tasted pretty good. This time my friend talked me into getting the lettuce wraps and I must say they were simply amazing. I could definitely eat then everyday. I am sure this will not be the last time I visit because I definitely need more lettuce wraps in my life. Oh yeah the crab Rangoon was tasty as well.

Five reasons PF Chang’s is off the chain(pun intended). 1. Shrimp with Candied Walnuts and Honey Dew Mellon — excellent flavor 2. Chicken Lettuce Wraps appetizer — food is more fun when you get to eat with your hands 3. Brown rice — it’s healthier than white(so I’m told) 4. Cleanliness — sometimes you’re just not sure at that family run restaurant 5. Consistent and professional service — ditto comment above

I do not understand how PF Chang’s has the same average rating as vastly superior Chinese food restaurants in the area. They actually serve spare ribs as an appetizer… All gripes about a major chain restaurant aside, the food here is mediocre at best. From strangely colored broccoli to overcooked beef and the gratuitous use of salt in absolutely every dish, PF Chang’s is one of the last places I’d voluntarily get food in The Summit. When the waiter tells you the calamari isn’t available because the earlier batches«went bad» and they have to defrost more, I can’t help but imagine what else goes through the reheating process. And if you’re expecting the substantial portions typically found at Asian restaurants, don’t be surprised when you’re paying $ 15 for something much more meager. At least the service is good with the waitstaff being both prompt and aware of the customer’s needs. You’ll probably want to make a reservation for dinner because this place gets really busy.

For me, chain restaurants automatically start at 3 stars. They need to work for 4 stars, and a few hiccups can mean 2 stars. This is a case of an otherwise ok experience, but for a place with the resources of the corporate infrastructure, there were a couple things that probably shouldn’t have happened. I’ll spare the general description of the restaurant, since most of us have a good idea of what PF Chang’s menu and ambiance entails(if not, see other reviews). Our waiter was friendly and fairly attentive, however the kitchen seemed a little slow given that we were there at 5 pm(would hate to see how slow it is when they are actually busy…) Sushi was a little stale, and they were out of to-go cups(already at 5 pm? Strange…) Like I said, otherwise it was fine. But a huge chain restaurant should have their act more together, especially when its practically empty…

There is no way in Shén’s name that I can rate PF Chang’s in Birmingham any less than 5 stars. My wife and I went on our first date here. Thus, I present a guide of success. The seating is comfortable, the cuisine is delightful, and the staff is F-*#g fantastic. The booths are very cozy for a romantic evening. However, get a table if you are joining your opposite gender cousin of similar age and interests. Also, The food they serve is colorful, flavorful, tasteful, and wonderful. I have never ordered a dish that I didn’t like or wasn’t hot enough, inlcuding my spouse. Next, the menu clearly labels what is spicy and what is not… If you can’t handle the heat, stay out of the booth. Definitely stay out of the kitchen! [It is unsanitary for non-employees and is prohibited by law:)] Note, they also serve dishes that can be very sweet, just make sure that your personality matches the flavor and your fellow countrywoman(or man) accompanying you will surely be pleased. Finally, the staff is great. As a matter of fact, the staff tends to be more well educated than myself on the majority of occasions. They are really good at what they do. I imagine they are highly skilled in other studies besides food and beverage, but unfortunately the job market isn’t always ready for their chosen expertise. They RARELY dissapoint, and they may«school» you, but never in front of your date. In conclusion, go ahead! Go right ahead! Protest eating at these franchise restaurants, you know you like it. You KNOW you will come back. There is a reason why they have survived the restaurant world long enough to proliferate into a franchise… They are doing something right, and in my opinion, just about everything. Bring on the heat PF Chang’s, you have definitely brought fire to my life.
