The food was delicious and above standards according to us. It has very good options for vegetarians. Staff is very friendly. I tried it first time with my wife and everything we ordered — spring rolls, fried beans, Masaman curry and cashew curry were awesome.

Amazing sushi! Got three rolls(Sloppy Seconds, crab angel roll, war eagle roll) and they were all great. Really different tastes. We will definitely be back.

Needed a place for dinner while staying at the ALoft in SoHo. Siki got 5 stars and while I dont like sushi, I do love Thai food. I got the Green Curry Chicken and it was awesome. Rated as very hot, I found it to be spicy but by no means overpowering. I also had a side salad which was just iceberg lettuce and ginger dressing. Nothing special but fresh and clean. If you like thai dont pass this place up and I assume the sushi is equally as good. I will be back.

Love this place! The food is very fresh! Great service and they are extremely kind when we bring our rambunctious two year old. The only thing that kept me from giving it five stars was the pad thai… I thought it wasn’t as tasty as it could of been.

Riza is the man! This place is a must try! I highly recommend The Cash Out roll, the So Fresh, So Clean roll, Basil Rolls, Dumplings, Crispy Rock Shrimp, and above all. The Baked Avocado! Yes, we ate that all in one trip. Worth every calorie.

We are so delighted to have this new addition to the SOHO, Homewood area. Great staff, quick service, and delicious food! Absolutely loved it. My husband and I both had the lunch special — massaman curry(one chicken, one tofu). After our lunch experience, we ordered a lot of food to go for ourselves and our family! We had massaman(again), green curry, panang curry, pad thai noodles, coconut soup, and veggie sushi roll. Everything was DIVINE! They are very accommodating with vegetarian/tofu substitutions, and they had our take out order ready in a very reasonable amount of time. Our new favorite local thai restaurant is definitely Shiki, and we cannot wait to keep coming back often!

Originally I was pretty sad to see Pinches go out of business, but after visiting Shiki I am glad to see this Thai restaurant move into the space. The restaurant has limited seating, but we were able to get a few tables pushed together for our party of 8. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Good lunch deals. I got the panang curry($ 8), which came with the choice of a ginger salad or coconut tofu soup. My wife got the masaman curry($ 8) and we both opted for the soup over the salad. The soup was pretty good, and the curry had superb flavor and a generous portion of chicken with it. The only complaint I have is that the portion of curry sauce was lacking. I would have liked to have two or three times more curry. Great tasting though and still a good value for a ~$ 10 lunch after tip. I recommend this restaurant, especially for lunch!

Great sushi!!! We had the Amazon, crab angel and kamakazi rolls! They were delicious. Ended up paying $ 31 with a basil roll appetizer as well because we had a buy two rolls get one free coupon. The inside was a great atmosphere and the staff was very sweet.

Fantastic sushi! Best sushi rice in Birmingham. They pay for the premium stuff. If you know anything about sushi good fish is easy to find. The rice is an art.

Important things first: the food is delicious. They definitely know what they are doing. The ginger dressing on the green salad is sweet but not overwhelming. We got a spider roll and it was fantastic– shrimp was delicious. I got the chicken panang and it was what I was hoping for– sweet and creamy but still spicy, and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. So if you’re wondering does it taste good, the answer is yes, it does. A little advice before you go: they’re new, so be patient as they work out the kinks. It was the hostess’ first night and she was overwhelmed, making beginner mistakes. She was incredibly apologetic and we still were seated within 10 minutes of getting there on a Friday night. The wait staff was incredibly friendly despite being overwhelmed with a full house. Once we ordered, we got our food reasonably fast. They’re definitely in the process of figuring out how to manage the front of the house, but that’s to be expected with any new restaurant. I imagine they’ll figure it out quickly. Again everyone was so friendly, so a little more structure, they’ll be top notch. I definitely recommend trying it out. I plan to go back. The prices are reasonable for dinner– about $ 15 a person. Check it out, be patient, and you’ll leave happy and satiated.

Love this place! The sushi is excellent, the squid salad is the best I’ve had, and the Thai dishes are exceptional. The service is also impeccable. Everyone is friendly and warm and seems to genuinely care about the customer’s dining experience. I’ll keep going back! Excited to have them in Homewood.

By far the best Thai that I have had in Birmingham and on par with what you would expect to find in a larger international city. The sushi was also outstanding and the atmosphere is the perfect blend of casual and chic. There is a sushi bar that is large enough to accommodate several couples. The price point was also very reasonable. I will definitely go back!

Tried Shiki for the first time last week and was very pleased with the service and the delicious sushi. The crab angels and the specialty rolls were fabulous! This will definitely be my new go to sushi place in Birmingham!

Eat at Nori all the time and was excited that the owners decided to open up in Homewood. Spicy coconut soup was good and hot. Great sushi selection at an affordable price. Don’t let parking keep you away. Find a spot under the parking deck at aloft hotel and walk up the sidewalk. Go check it out!

So happy to have Shiki on Hallman Hill in Homewood. If you like Thai, give it a try. Great coconut soup. Killer Panang(extra hot). Good service and affordable. Go Shiki!
