Great New Store! Easier to park. Terrific selection of products and Team Sales. Ryan and Marc are easy to work with, know their product lines and go out of their way to make sure custom orders are all delivered On Time! Prices were good too. Thanks, Varsity Shop!

Bigger selection of baseball gloves here than any other place I’ve seen. Many of the gloves I’ve seen here in person only appear otherwise on the internet. Heaven of baseball glove geekery. Be prepared to pay top dollar though. The pricey B’ham location appears to be priced into the gloves.

Always a great place full of lots of stuff for all the teams and all the gear for various sports. Packed to the brim with stuff, great location, and reasonably priced. The manager is especially nice and always helpful and pleasant. The staff, overall, though is super sweet and helpful, too, though… Most are younger… At least on the weekend. One complaint, they need to replace some of their flags outside… Especially the MSU one.

Ordered a swim bag here and had it personalized with my child’s name embroidered. When I picked up the bag, the embroidery was noticeably crooked. Immediately my sales girl agreed with me and called someone over. Turns out she called the store owner over, who proceeded to try to convince me that it wasn’t that bad. He got out a tape measure and spent 15 minutes measuring and telling me that yes, it was off, but the margin of error was acceptable in his mind. I explained that the error was noticeable and it would bother me everytime I looked at the bag… I’d always be disappointed with it. I had other kids who needed swim bags and I had planned to buy them here. He told me that he’d rather not have me return as a customer than have to re-order the whole bag. This experience greatly upset me – I was not being rude and everyone I’ve shown the bag to agrees it is off. He refunded my embroidery charge($ 10) but I do not feel comfortable shopping here again.

I used to frequent the Varsity Shop growing up, and went back on a recent trip. This was THE place to buy Speedo, Adidas, etc. Great to see some things have not changed …

I joined the swim team in 7th grade just so I could get the«free» speedo swimsuit– granted I only swam exhibition(your scores are calculated), I wanted to be cool and have the team suit. Thank you Varsity Shop for supplying our swim team with the coolest suits. The Varsity Shop had some of the best selections of sports related gear in the area and still do. I bought a Western Michigan University tee(even though I didn’t go there) that has that vintage feel– it’s kid-sized too… basically amazing. The staff is fabulous. I went in just to scope things out to see how it has changed and I love the fact that by no means do I feel that they have sold out to commercial America. Way to keep it real.

The Varsity Shop is another one of those places that seems strangely out of place in B’ham, or whatever the kids are calling it these days. It’s sort of in the garden level of a building and it’s crowded with all the athletic gear you could want. I’ve bought many-a hat, shirt, or pair of shorts from this place, in addition to lots of sports equipment. It’s a mom & pop kind of shop, and the staff are all very helpful and nice.
