Hadn’t been here for years and just as fabulous as I remember! Chorizo breakfast burrito special was fantastic with just the right amount of spice. The Healthy Omelet my son had was fluffy, fresh, and you could actually see the vegetables!

Me and some of friends stopped here for breakfast. I ordered the egg Benedict our way and it was one of the best breakfast I ever had. Our server was good and always made sure that we had coffee and the food was good. In short a really awesome experience.

Although you may have to wait for a table, I would take your chances. Anything on the menu is great. The specials always have something tasty & sugary. The banana, blueberry French toast special is amazing. They use REAL whip cream. I would suggest any of the skillets as well.

The food and the staff are amazing, great food fast as far as the post about the family going in for the birthday breakfast as a parent myself I don’t leave it up to a server to figure out what my kids eat I supervise them as they order servers have enoph to do. So put down the cell phones and pay attention to your kid’s that’s not your server’s job. And the orange juice is now freshly squeezed before it was from a jug. So let’s remember when we take our kids out to eat pay attention to your kids. The servers are there to serve you not to be molly maids and mind readers.

NEVERAGAIN! I have been coming to Whistle Stop for 10+ years before and after having children. We often visit here with our two kids. Well today we went for a family breakfast to celebrate our daughter 9th Birthday. This was the worst experience we have ever had out of all the years we have been coming. The food was not the same. The juice was seemed as if was concentrated in which we have always had freshly squeezed here. But that wasnt the worst part. Our two kids ordered off the kids menu and for some reason the waitress rang it up as adult which is double the price and did the same with the orange juice which they received kid juices. When we made her aware of the mistake. She had the nerve to say well you didnt say that they were ordering off the kids menu. What? They are kids arent they? If the children are pointing to the kids menu and telling you what they want why wouldn’t put it in as kids? So then we told the manager, she had the nerve to tell us «Its your responsibility as parents to tell us»! And then continued to try to argue with me and my husband. Excuse me as the waitress its your responsibility as the server to ask! We have never been treated like this EVER or even seen anyone be treated here. WEWILLNEVEREATHEREAGAINPOORCUSTOMERSERVICE!

I’ve enjoyed breakfast here about twice a month for the past year. Excellent service, convenient and fast. The food is consistently great, and the coffee tastes good as well. I recommend trying on of their daily breakfast specials.

The food is very good but they do a poor job of seating the crowd in the proper order. We were waiting patiently when a big group waltzed in front of us and was seated right away. It hurt. We left.

This place hits every expectation of a diner that a customer could want. It’s quick and delicious, and a big menu to choose from too. I really like the sunrise Benedict or the chicken pot pie — I’ve never had a bad meal or experience here. It does seem a bit cramped on the first visit, but hey — business is good.

This place isn’t the same as it used to be. Service and quality has gone down. They still have delicious pancakes but thats about all I’ll come here for now.

The food here is always great, especially breakfast and the homemade pies and cakes which are semi famous in Metro Detroit. By far though, the reason I eat here at least once a week is the hospitality. Such warm, friendly folks from Elda the owner, to Nicole, Eva and even Derrick and Chuck in the kitchen. In the land of Coney Island diners, Whistle Stop stands out above the rest. I just wish they were open for dinner its so good.

The food and service is always good here but today I met some friends for breakfast and was not impressed with how the waitress handled a situation. My friends daughter was served French toast. As she began eating we noticed the syrup looked yellow. After inspection we flipped the toast to discover raw egg batter on the underside, it had not been flipped and cooked. After a long wait, she received her cooked French toast with an apologie. The fact that it was not offered to be taken of the bill floors me.

like many I have been going here for more years than I like to admit — some time ago when they were serving I went for dinner their«Hudson’s Maurice» was lame. Glad they gave up on dinners. My companion’s pot roast was dismal. Now that they are going to Mae’s on WW by e-way wonder what they are going to bring to this place. Mae’s was totally awesome. They always had a line out the door. Too bad a couple of kids had to throw a temper tantrum — waiting to see the results

My favorite place to stop for breakfast. Yummmmmmmmmm! I just love everything here. It’s a small little place not really for big groups. But it’s really the greatest place for just sitting down and talking! I love it here! Great for first dates or just hanging out with your friends! It doesn’t even matter it just makes you feel at home

In the sea that is Birmingham pretension is this little oasis that the everyday man can enjoy. It’s a limited frills and to-the-point menu: breakfast and lunch. Eggs, griddle items and sandwiches. Prices are moderately higher but not outrageous. For less than a trip to IHOP or Bob Evans, you get a much better meal. It’s small so arriving at peak times means there is going to be a wait and no where to really do it but outside. Because it’s small, turnover is frequent but more importantly food is piping hot when it hits your table. Dining alone or don’t need a table? Sit at the counter and get the same great service. Service is fast and friendly so be nice to the ladies. Might I add, please leave the Birmingham associated douchebaggery at the door. It’s a diner so eat and leave. Have your post Zumba therapy sessions somewhere else and for God’s sake do not study the USA Today here. Eat and get the fork out! People are waiting. I feel great. See you next Sunday.

Decent place. One of those small little restaurants that probably not many people know about. I had the breakfast special. Good price.

This place is home away from home. This younger gentlemen helped an older lady and daughter get out of their car and into the restaurant. This in turn made me pass along a great deed by paying for the ladies lunches. Love this atmosphere.

Finally made it into the Whistle Stop for breakfast. It was busy so we sat at the counter. I was underwhelmed. I had the Benedict special with potato pancakes and eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was somewhat bland. I must say the service was great, very attentive. Just now blown away by the food.

My only experiences have been for breakfast and they’ve all been great. My favorite is the Kurtzy omelette, but really any of them are good. They’ve got a good variety of breakfast items on the menu including plenty of sweet offerings. As I pay at the register I always check out the pies in the cooler. They’re homemade and look amazing. One of these days I need to take a slice to go…
