Best coffee in town! I get the caramel latte, and they make it to perfection. Atmosphere is laid back, and the employees are kind and friendly. Free wifi! I only wish they had a drive through, but that’s just my own«first world problem :)».

Excellent coffee and even better service. The girls that work In here are always so friendly and accommodating, and I often have some interesting orders. Personally, I feel it’s completely unfair to compare this local coffee shop to a Starbucks; I find its usually helpful to order the size by the ounces that are written on the cups on display. I don’t think there’s a more clear or straightforward way to order a coffee. In terms of actual coffee taste and flavor options… I haven’t found a better cup of coffee. The atmosphere is pretty inviting as well. Overall, I always have a more than enjoyable experience here. Which is… Let’s be honest… Daily…

Awesome local coffee shop who roast their own beans. On our stop in Bishop, we needed a pick me upper after the 3.5 drive from LA. Just a block from Erick’s Schats Bakery, you can hit both locations. We did that on our way back too! They have a few beans from different regions. I had a taste of the Panama, earthy, nutty, and a tad on the stronger side. A very delicious cup. I had ordered the vanilla bean frap with no whip for a tasty treat. Friendly service and quick on getting the drinks to us. Enough seating to go around. Cheers.

I asked for a grande soy late and the biresta asked me what size that was as she pointed to the cups. Now since Starbucks uses sizes tall grande and vente to describe the different sizes of coffee I just assumed vente was a universal coffee shop language. I don’t know if they are anti Starbucks of she just did not know. When I picked it up at the receiving area it was in the smallest cup they had, not the medium I had ordered. They were busy and I did not have time to return it so I just left with it. It tasted great I just did not want a small soy late and paid for a medium.

We stopped here for coffee after we left The Hostel California. My two friends are coffee fiends! I didn’t want this place for breakfast cuz I wanted Schaat’s Bakkery, but we stopped here before. My friends loved the coffee here! I got a latte and liked it too. Cute lil shop on Main St. My friends got a cinnamon roll, which looked delicious. I think it’s a chain since I saw one in Mammoth.

Very happening coffee shop, vanilla latte was pretty good. Chocolate chip cookie was great. Staff was polite and much better than going to a Starbucks any day. **I did see a jar of local honey for sale, the price $ 22.99. Whoa… I was in Independence earlier in the day and a jar of local honey was $ 7.99. $ 22.99 is even high for LA prices.

We came through town during a holiday parade and were eager for coffee after our meal. We prefer small coffee shops over the larger chains so we looked forward to trying this one. The wait was crazy long but the vanilla latte was smooth and the Chocolate chip cookie was delicious.

Eh. Pretty good #coffee Just a @starbucks clone I think though. I didn’t see anything in particular that made this a unique shop. It has the ingredients though that make it successful.

Locally owned independent coffee shop on our way to Vegas from Yosemite. The woman behind the counter was very friendly, genuine, accommodating. Great customer service!(I think she may have been the owner.) Personalized Looney Bean merchandise at the counter, a nice touch for an indie coffee shop/restaurant. My boyfriend loved his shake(Awake shake!) And I loved that they had almond, soy and hemp milk available to use as a creamer at no extra charge! I am often times hard pressed to even find soy. :) Would definitely recommend!

I can always count on Looney Bean for a solid cuppa whenever on the 395 in the Eastern Sierra.. Great ambience & free wifi. They have a good selection of baked goods but the earlier you stop in, the better the selection. They have a good selection dairy-free alternatives like almond, soy etc. The Bishop & Mammoth Looney Beans are independently owned.

We stopped here to add some pep to our drive back from Mammoth, and now I think I have a new must-go on all of my future drives through Bishop. First off, the girls working here were so friendly and cheerful. It was pleasant just chatting for a few minutes– definitely helped make the experience so nice! But seriously, the coffee drinks hold their own. I had a pumpkin chai with espresso. Real pumpkin makes it super creamy and delicious, and I could have eaten a whole cup of the whipped cream given the opportunity(and a spoon!). They also have a cute selection of cards made by local artists, home made jam, and some scones that looked incredible! I will definitely be back!

Dear Looney Bean, Thank you for your spiced, pumpkin, chai latte with espresso whipped cream. The real pumpkin makes the drink creamy and rich; the spices are perfectly balanced, and the espresso whipped cream is ridiculously awesome. Like a child with Tourette’s, I scream«Looney Bean and Espresso Whipped Cream» every time someone mentions the town of Bishop. I see you have expanded your pastry selection. Keep on doing what you do and I’ll see you the next time I’m in town.
