If the name of The Upper Crust Pizza isn’t obvious enough, then heed my warning! Stick to the pizza and avoid the other items on the menu which aren’t circular and dough based! The most accurate description of the seafood bisque is that it tastes like Chef Boyardee. The consistency and taste are spot on! In fact, if were actually a real Chef Boyardee, he would probably be proud of this as they managed to take his secret recipe and upscale it with random seafood and imitation crab. Something was also off on the chicken marsala. It wasn’t the large pieces of chicken breast I was expecting but rather small cut up chicken mixed in with pasta. The marsala sauce did have a hint of the wine flavor but was a little watered down for my taste. As for the pizza, it was pretty much spot on. The crust isn’t as thin as a New York style but the dough was soft in the middle and crispy on the outside without being overly greasy. There was a good amount of cheese and plenty of toppings to cover it.

We decided to take the scenic route back to LA from Tahoe. After some reviews we decided on this place. The pizza was great. It reminds me of a pie from the east coast. Heavy toppings with a crisp crust but not to thin. They even had a gluten free menu on the option. There were a few other Pizza spots that Unilocal recommended in the area but very glad I chose this one. I would definitely go back again. Cute spot, right on the highway route, easy parking, clean place and friendly attentive spot. I couldn’t of asked for a better road stop spot

We had a very nice experience here. We went for dinner on a Saturday night, and got a table almost immediately. It was quiet when we were there, though the restaurant was about 2⁄3 full. The hostess was a little clueless and brought me the wrong drink, but our waiter was completely amazing. All we had to do was think about wanting something, and there he was! We had a custom pizza on their thin crust, which was excellent. Be sure to save room for dessert, though. Their Italian Rum Cake is seriously the best I’ve ever had, and their chocolate cake looked just as good! They have wine & beer(nice selection!), but a full bar would be a good addition.

We picked this placed based on the close proximity to our hotel, which was a quick 5 minute walk down the street. We were promptly seated, and our waiter, Vicente, was very attentive in getting our order. After a full day on the slopes, pizza sounded perfect. We started off the meal with the mozzarella sticks(1 dozen is a small order?). They were very tasty with both ranch and marinara dipping sauce options. My husband and I got a medium Cecil 7 pizza, which has Canadian bacon, artichokes, and tomatoes. It was fantastic and the crust was superb, as others have also stated. The place was very popular that evening, and we saw several groups waiting for tables to open. Even with post-ski hunger, there was still 1 piece of pizza left from a medium, so I would say it’s a good size for 2 adults.

Good service but the pasta we ordered were really not good. Badly cooked with too much cream. Too bad for a place with such reviews.

This place is great food and great service. My ONLY complaint is their staff doesn’t seem too solid on their menu-but I’m picky as hell and could have been asking pretty odd questions, lol. So… I called with TONS of questions as it was my first time ordering and had a large order($ 78). When I went to pay with my credit card I was shocked when it was declined because I had just pushed a decent sum of $$$ of out my savings and into my checking. Since it took us some work to compile the order(maybe 10 – 12 mins or so) the cashier said she would keep the order and for me to call back after calling the bank. Soooooo-I called the bank and they said(after a lot of back and forth) that they could see I has electronically made the transaction but my account couldn’t be officially«credited» of making that transaction until after midnight. Grrrr. This was my OWN money-not an unknown check. Just moving cash from one account to another. So sadly I had to call back the pizza place and they were SO accommodating. I’m here from the Midwest where people are kinda nice but Bishop blows them all away. I told her my problem and apologized for taking up all of her time earlier for no reason. She has me hold on while she consults her manager. Turns out while waiting for me to call back they had MADE my giant order and it was ready to go. Maybe that’s why she said she was going to go ahead and have it delivered and they would run the card the next business day!!! Now-I don’t expect THAT kind of service. While I know they will get their $$$ from me(including a generous tip) THEY have ZERO way of knowing they aren’t letting $ 78 of pizza just go out the door! I wasn’t even a «regular» customer. In fact I was a new one. The food was good. Nothing to write home about but good pizza. Inventive as I got a «white» create my own pizza to which I added mini shrimp and bacon and it was good. I would always suggest thin crust but that’s probably just a personal preference. There mozz sticks order is HUGE. Finally-they had a sweet potato cheesecake with a layer of MAPLE. I travel for a living and have ate cheesecake from EVERYwhere. Ill order several pieces to go from Cheesecake Factory whenever I’m in the same town as one. This cheesecake blew anything I’ve ever tasted out of the water. So anyways-I don’t tend to write stellar reviews as I «award» them with return business but as a traveler I use Unilocal approx 3x a day and the positive reviews help me as much as the negative so I thought I’d give me good review for outstanding service.

Pretty wonderful pizza, great selection of different pizzas other than the usual pepperoni, mushroom, sausage, etc, choices. Great crust and fresh toppings. Service was excellent and very friendly. Would definitely recommend eating there. It’s noisy but when did you go to a pizza place for a quiet romantic evening? The small serving size was perfect for us older types that don’t want to eat 5 lbs of pizza. Want to go back to try some of the other house combinations. Was only spoiled by a lady talking VERYLOUD but we when we left, it was obvious she had some medical issues so we didn’t say anything to the staff.

All around a nice friendly restaurant! Servers were prompt and competent. Ingredients were fresh and piZza was beautiful prepared — we got the rodeo with spinach instead of peppers. They easily accommodate substitutions which is great and suggests the food is made fresh. I agree with other reviewers that the crust is perfectly crunchy and chewy, and delicious. We got the Euro salad — nothing to write home about but fine and a bit interesting combo of items. The«seafood bisque«was basically cream tomato soup with small pieces of what seemed like imitation crab, admiittedly tasty but not exactly what I expected, nor very seafoody. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and even had ½ pizza to bring to Burning Man!

Friendly surprise, good food and discovered if they suspect something isn’t up to expectations, they want to make it right. My calzone was a little dry, they moved swiftly to remedy it, loved the results. I will defiantly stop again next time I’m in the area.

The service was great and the food was good. We had Ceasar Salad to start off with, while not the best I have had it was pretty good. For the meal we had pizza the sauce was good the toppings were great and so was to the crust. I wish the bottom crust was a little thicker as the taste of the crust was really good and we like the crust on pizza just as much as the rest of it.

Cute restaurant. Friendly staff. We just order a mammoth pizza half cheese and half pepperoni. My husband liked it more than the kids and myself. The sauce is a tad too tomatoey and herby for our taste. It is a bit sweet. The crust is tasty.

Ordered ahead on the way down from Mammoth & picked up on the way through town. Mixed feelings, but the food was decent. I’d probably eat here again, as I had a better experience here than the other pizza joint in town. When I first called, the background noise int he restaurant made it impossible for the cashier to hear me. It wasn’t even that busy at the time… they really need a better system. The cashier that helped me when I arrived was very helpful and bagged up everything nicely for me. He grabbed seasoning packets & napkins to go. The BBQ chicken I ordered was good. Not amazing, but worth eating again. The iced tea was average-good. The small(9″) is enough to super-fill you, but I split it into 2 sittings(it’s a long drive home to SD).

Fantastic customer service, not only from our waiter, but from all the other employees that we saw in there! It looks like they are trained well and work as a team! Pleasant, attentive, and a sense of humor!(Unlike other places around bishop) We ordered garlic bread with marinara and Alfredo sauce-Excellent! Not greasy and excellent flavor! Our pizzas were very flavorful also but don’t remember what they were called. One was with olive oil, garlic, feta & tomato. The other was with marinara, sausage, and peppers. They were Both thin crust and crispy, just the way we like it! We will definitely be back here in the future! Best place to eat in Bishop!!!

The illusion– pretty bad; bland, couldnt taste the sauce, toppings seemed like they were from a can. Dont buy! Meat lovers-your average pizza; something like dominoes pizza with all your meat fixins. Pretty decent if you are hungry Overall if you are craving pizza you dont really have any choices around the area-if you need to go here stick to the basics and dont get fancy with the toppings
