It was delicious food and price is reasonable. We really enjoyed our Sunday there. Pretzel was the best I have ever had.

We were up at va tech 2 times in the past 3 weeks and are here both times. My first time here. I had the chicken wrap with Coke slaw. Fabulous. Then the next time I ordered the corn beef and and pastrami with Coke slaw and thousand island dressing on rye. It was huge and delicious. Service has been stellar too. I wish we had one of these restaurants closer to home.

I loved Macado’s for years. However, the recent visits I had were not pleasant at all. Food was way overcooked, for both of my recent visits. One time was a burnt burger beef patty, the second time was a burnt cheese quesadilla. The waiter did get me new ones after I requested both times, but how can they let burnt food out of the kitchen? So I stopped going here, sadly.

I love this place! Their menus are huge and everything on it is amazing! Their homemade chips with the dipping sauce is so good! I have been there maybe 5 or 6 times and I still have so many more options to choose from on the menu!

Food is okay, and that’s about it for positives. The service is super slow every time, no matter who you get. However, the worst thing about this place is the décor. It’s not just that’s it’s ugly, it’s that it’s so dirty! They have so much décor that they can’t clean it! There’s like dust everywhere and things just feel gross everywhere! Feeling dirty in the place where you want to enjoy your food is not a pleasant thing.

Excellent service! Only gave 4 stars because I was in and out with a quickness! Here for business for the week and decided to hit up macados, I’ve been to two other macados within the area before but this is by far my favorite! The atmosphere was awesome as well, really cool movie themed displays everywhere! And my Rin tin tin sandwich was delicious! Great deals for happy hour as well!

Macado’s in Radford has stepped up their game. The bar and patio are amazing! Great beer selection !

I have been here many times in the past & have had both good & bad experiences –hence the low rating of 3. Food goes between awesome to gross, the same can be said of the service. Sorry, not sorry. After a hiatis of over a year, it was my idea to return. Ordered the salsa con queso, the dip was very tasty & hot temp wise but the chips were cold. If they had warmed the chips it would have brought out the flavor & enhanced the app. Service was great at the bar, waitress was pleasant & quick to bring refills. Today’s visit gives me hope to return in the near future.

Great place with interesting decorations. They have special price at Monday night for chicken wings, dine in only. Can’t love them more. Their tacos and quesadilla are amazing too! But, all the sandwiches are bad, super big. Don’t order them!

OK, I’ve been to Macados in CB, BB and Radford. This one is similar to the others; wierd sandwich names, interesting décor, usually decent service. It would be swell if they called a roast beef sandwich a roast beef sandwich.

This place is ok. The food is acceptable. I do like the burger buns — they taste fairly sweet. The portions are good as well. We like the $ 1 kids meals on Tuesday. The service is unbelievably slow. Most places in Blacksburg suffer from this trait. But Macados ranks in my top 3 slowest service in the Burg. The servers and hosts are nice. Just. So. Slow. They also have arbitrary rules where even if you see an ingredient on one meal you can’t get it on another meal.

The atmosphere is definitely unique and kitschy. I can see why people like that aspect. The beer selection is meh. I had to go back to a Sam Adam’s. The menu looks awesome, and I’d comment on the quality of the food had the sandwich I ordered shown up in the two hours I spent waiting for it. No offense, but how hard is it to make a sandwich and some fries when it’s not that busy? But the one refill I got on my water was nice, so I guess I’ve got that going for me.

One of my staples from my college days, and a go-to place for lunch or a light dinner whenever I come back into town. I love the atmosphere, with all the random memorabilia scattered around– from old pictures to cars and costumes, sports gear and everything else they could somehow fit in. The service has always been good, and most importantly they offer sweet tea, which I struggle to get up here in DC. As for the food, I have never had a bad sandwich here. The Cowpoke and the Ragtime are two of my favorites. Everything tastes fresh and is well made. I just wish it was closer!

1st off, I would love to give Macado’s a higher review but I cant. The Good: I’ve been here multiple times. It’s a great bar to watch a game or for a crowd. The two level restaurant has a lot of atmosphere with a car put on the 2nd level, Godzilla looking creature, and various other things to look at. The sandwich list can be intimidating but it’s nice to have so many options plus you can make your own. My favorite is the Jackie Gleason(roast beef, bacon on everything bagel). Also, I went here one morning and mimosas are only 3 bucks. I think their bloody marys were $ 2.50. Check out the menu online because they have great daily deals! Also, their drinks are reasonable and who wanted want a beer served in the schooner glass?! The Bad: Last weekend, I came and had the chili. I had it before and it came with some chips, cheese and was served nice and piping hot. I didn’t have the same experience this past time. It was just chili and was at best lukewarm. I should have asked for it to be reheated. The Ugly: The service one time was unbelievably bad. Not sure what the problem was but it was slow. So slow, that we somehow got our food before we got our drinks and it took a long time for our order to be taken. Maybe we were just forgotten or something but it took me a while to visit Macado’s again after this visit. It was especially disappointing because we had friends in town and wanted to show off the area.

Fun place! I always enjoy going to Macados because of the atmosphere, there are so many weird things in the restaurant to look at, as well as huge televisions. All of the booths are super private as well. Macados is always good for game day weekends as well because it is so big the wait isn’t too bad and if there is there is always the options of going to the bar. However, the food is just alright. There are sooo many sandwich options, which is awesome and extremely overwhelming for an indecisive person like myself. But the sandwiches are mediocre. I usually get the«Crazy Chris Wrap,» which is pretty good. Today, I tried the fried pickles which were a good deal and the batter was delicious(I pretty much will like any fried pickles I eat though). I also got the chili, which was not hot at all when I got it. It was the first time I almost sent my food back because I like my soups real hot when I eat them, but I was hungry. The chili had a great taste though! It was probably just a mistake.

Fantastic service and sandwiches. I’ve been here multiple times and never had a bad experience. The servers are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The food is fantastic. What more needs to be said? I suppose I could mention that the décor is silly and makes me smile, that the bathrooms are clean and well-stocked, and that I’ve never had a long wait even on busy days, but the service and the food are the most important things to know!

MACADO’S! Ahh, simply amazing. I came to visit my BF’s family, and we came here a few times for dinner, all of which we had a great total experience. My favorite is the ambiance of this place. You’ll feel like a little child staring off at the excessive amounts of crazy décor they have going on. The food is delicious. Their extensive lists of sandwiches will surely have something for everybody, and if not, there are several other options on the menu to meet your needs. I had the Sherlock Holmes, and boy was it tasty! Really fresh ingredients, you can tell. We also had the queso dip which most likely was just heated up Velveeta, but it was perfect. The sundaes are BOMB. Servings large enough to share with your neighbor. Our service was great considering how busy they get in the evenings. Cannot wait to come back!

A good selection of beers, some served in huge glasses. I’ve only had snackish bar food so can’t comment on the sandwiches this place is famous for, but the food I’ve had was decent and satisfying. I was here more for the beer, and left a happy customer. The downside, not enough seats and gets very busy when there’s a game on at VT.

I love the variety of menu options and JUST learned about Bomb nights! They are on Thursdays at certain times(I believe it ends at 8pm). The Irish car bombs and Cherry bombs are delicious. I’ve only ever ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad and Oriental Chicken wrap(both times I was craving something sweet and teryaki-flavored). I’ve heard their sandwiches are delicious. The service here is great and their daily specialties make you want to come back every day!
