I have been here many many times over the years and have always enjoyed the music. But overall the service stinks. They charge 10 at the door and one of the bartenders/owners is as rude as can be. I stopped going for at least a year but was recently hanging out with a friend who wanted to go. After we paid to enter, purchased 4 drinks and an entrée he said«will you guys move, we need the bar.» I was shocked. The bathroom smells like sewage and the doors don’t lock. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good hole in the wall but when you don’t appreciate your longtime customers it gets old really quickly. Goodbye Mango!

This place is the nastiest restaurant I’ve ever seen in my life and needs to be on the show Kitchen Nightmare’s. If you are reading this, beware of the gross details below and head elsewhere. I am amazed the health department has not shut this place down due to bugs/roaches, feces, etc. We stumbled on this restaurant in July, walking home from Bladensburg Waterfront Park. There was only one employee there running the whole place. We had always passed the place and wondered if it was good. It was a sweltering hot day and needed relief from the heat and decided to stumble in and see what they might have, a nice cold beer maybe, and the menu sounded good. When we went into the building, what looks like maybe was old Pizza Hut that was shut down, it had an odd vibe. Like maybe it was nightclub late at night. There were couches and curtains around that look like they might have been cool in the 90’s. As we took a seat, I darted off the bathroom, down a long hallway with windows all down the side looking out to the parking lot. I could smell something wasn’t right. As I approached the men’s bathroom, I looked inside and I saw 40 – 50 dead bugs/roaches belly up on the floor all over the bathroom. The strong stench I smelled, that was the feces in the toilet that had been sitting there no telling. This was there public restroom. I grabbed my partner and we made a quick exit to the front door. We never stayed for the food, but if they have bathrooms in this shape when they first opened for the day, I can only imagine what lies behind the kitchen doors.

Typically I’m not a fan of caribbean music, but the service from food to drinks was pleasingly delicious. My only suggestion to the owners is consider renovation of the dance floor and add additional seating so less people are standing.

Mango Caffe is one of the best establishments in the area. If you live near Bladensburg and like Caribbean food, you should definitely check it out. Some people on Unilocal have complained about the service, but that hasn’t been my experience. The owner is very friendly and likes to talk with customers. On top of all this, they throw great parties!

As with the previous reviews, the service can be improved but the food is pretty good. Great Caribbean spice and heat. The jerk chicken with plantains and rice was quite tasty. Would come again but a little earlier in time for happy hour.

I’m waiting for this place to take it to the next level. They have some great food, carribean style, but my five visits here in recent years have always been disappointing because of the bad service. From taking the initial order, to the follow up, cook time, and closing of the bill, my tables have always felt like they weren’t a priority. I really encourage the owners to focus on making the customer’s experience better.
