Excellent food, atmosphere and cocktails! They are now building a free standing restaurant in the area…

Place is closed. I believe they are building a new building, close to Target /Post Office.

Dined here 3 times now, trying different menu items each visit. I’ve always been pleased. They have a LOT of beers on tap, several of which are local micro-brews. Unfortunately, our waitress this last visit couldn’t tell me anything about any of them. My favorite dish thus far is the Bricks Royale burger. My wife was a big fan of the Beer Cheese Pizza.

This is my first Unilocal review, and I’ve been really hesitant to sign up, but I’ve had it with Bricks. I have been to Bricks on and off for at least four years now, and seriously, this place just can NOT get its shit together. Yes, great beer selection. Yes, the Brickle really is as good as it sounds. But when you have staff that really can’t tell how to deliver BASIC customer service, it’s absurd. My husband and I went on Friday night(honestly, because he wanted the Brickle and some beer) and we were there late enough that we were on the edge of happy hour and a late dinner crowd. 1. The hostess was extremely unprofessional and we didn’t even realize she was the hostess until at least 3 minutes of us standing in the doorway. We thought she was with a party ahead of us. No… just chatting. 2. We were told to eat at the bar because there were no tables available, and when I suggested the patio, she said that no one would serve us out there. That’s fine… but there was only ONE bartender working… on a Friday? 3. Throughout the meal, I would just survey the restaurant, and none of the servers seemed to know what was going on. There were a few large parties(and for a place that prides itself on being able to accommodate large parties… since they’re right across the street from the Blaine sports complex… they should know how to handle this better), and many of the people from these large parties ordered at the bar because they couldn’t find their server. 4. The Chef/Manager/Owner is no help to any one. Is he even a manager? Was there a manager there? Didn’t seem like it. The servers and bartender were drowning in the amount of people in the restaurant, and the guy can’t even bring out some cups from the dishwasher? Roll some napkins and silverware? Like I said, the Brickle is awesome. The beer is good. There are some great items on the menu. But when it comes to service, you’re better off visiting the many fast food places surrounding Bricks. P. S. My husband thinks its funny that for an establishment called«Bricks», there isn’t a single piece of real brick in the restaurant. It’s all fake brick.

Went here with some friends for Tuesday night trivia. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The waitress must of been training someone. It was very difficult to get her attention. It seemed like she was checking on every table except ours. My friends got there before it did and pointed out the bad service. I ordered their deep fried pickle and a margherita pizza. Both were ok. It took forever for the fried pickle to come out and that was due to the fact that it was sent to the wrong table. When it was time to pay the bill… it was a disaster. She mixed up our change. I didn’t get my change! This girl was totally lost. I don’t know if I’d come back here again. Trivia was fun but boy, the service was horrible.

Because of Brick’s convenient location to us, we’ve been here off and on for a few years. It is always lousy food that sends us packing. We went back last night, again because of location and icy roads. I ordered the«Brick Oven Chicken.» When it was delivered, both my husband and I were appalled. The chicken skin was white. In addition to that, there was absolutely no seasoning on any part of that meat. In fact, I always order dark meat because of more flavor, however, this is the first time I’ve ever eaten any kind of meat that had virtually no flavor at all and was extremely dry. It almost seemed boiled because when I boil meat to make stocks and broths, it always becomes tasteless and dry, and of course the skin remains white. My husband had the pizza which would have been excellent if they had put the toppings on to somewhat near the edges of the crust. Instead, as it was about a 9″ pizza, not putting toppings 1 ½″ away from the edge made this, in reality, about a 5″ pizza. Our server was delightful and attentive, so no problems there. Unfortunately, it’s going to take more than icy roads to bring us back.

Been here several times before with mixed results. The food has always been pretty good but we had sub par service awhile back and hadn’t been in in awhile. Decided to give it a go last night and the good was great! Had brisket tacos which were excellent as well as a wood fired pizza which was perfectly baked and delicious. Friendly service from the bartender who was taking care of our table and a huge Bears win on Monday Night Football made it a very enjoyable meal!

We have been here a number do times and enjoy the«special» menu. This is our term for the non bar food part of the menu. This last time we had the Garlic Hummus for starter. This is a very nice plate of bread and hummus. We then had Cajun shrimp and honey salmon. Both were very good. The service is good and the noise level is not too bad, considering it is a bar. Each meal was about $ 16 and the beers about $ 3 during happy hour. On the north side this is one of the better spots for a tasty meal.

Great food the three times I have eaten here over the past year. Not sure what the negativity is about. Was packed for dinner on a Saturday last month and the parking lot always has cars in it.

Horrible service and small portions. Our last visit we complained our jambalaya portion was smaller than usual. The bartender/manager was rude and combative. I will not go back ever again.

WHAT’S EVERYONETALKINGABOUT ?? I stopped here 9⁄13 and had a flavorful meal with wonderful service. The bar was starting to fill up, so I sat at a table in the dining room which wasn’t very full. It was early. It did fill up quite a bit when I left. Anyhoo, The menu is extremely interesting with unique concepts. Yes, I want to go back and try other items ! There are several combinations that look very appealing to me, things I wouldn’t make at home, I ordered the turkey burger, hoping for a good alternative to a beef burger. TAADAA There were cranberries INSIDE the patty. Who doesn’t like turkey and cranberries? Of course it was a little dry, but all turkey burgers are. For only .99 you can substitute jicama slaw for fries. GOODCALL. It was by far and away the best jicama slaw I have ever had. The wine list was unknown to me, I guess I need to get out more. :=) The beer selection was awesome, but the prices were way out of line. Speaking of prices, it was like resort prices, waaaaay too high. It would be different if it were fancy scmancy, but it isn’t. My server was nice, and quick, and made trips back to check on me. However, It wasn’t real busy then. The server area to do work was in my view,(tacky) and there seemed to be a lot of cackling going on there. Definitely a strange vibe going on. Like the natives were restless. Something strange going on. S T R A N G E L O C A T I O N … TURNWHERE ???

Absolutely worst service I have ever seen in 30 years. Overly staffed with 10+ staff members gossiping about each other while we waited for about 20 mins just to get our bill and a box for the crummy turkey sandwich now rotten. I was never asked how I wanted my burger and it came out more rare than a bloody calf. Never coming back.

The place was nearly empty on a Saturday night. Not too hard to figure out why: slow service, small portions, and mediocre food. Hummus appetizer had odd taste to the hummus — not really spicy, but not flavored with anything you would relish. Decent size portion, but the pita was overcooked. My daughter’s kid’s meal was tiny tiny tiny. Would have ordered a second, but waitress was AWOL. Also explaining why my water and wine glasses were empty most of the meal. My entrée-sized beet salad was miniscule — four beet slices and a sprinkling of greens. For $ 11? Gimme a break. There are lots of better restaurants in the area. Just let this one go under and we’ll see what replaces it. Clearly, their management stinks, so it should be gone shortly.

Better than average pub with the best outdoor patio in the area. Perfect for a girls’ night out! The food is a little more expensive than at The Tavern, but the service is consistently friendly, and the menu is chef-created. Impressive Beer list, and I recommend the pickle appetizer.

As long as you’re looking for a Pub, this place is good. The food was decent, a little expensive for the plate. I found the service as good, fairly attentive. Good beer selection for the 20 drafts. I’ve been here a few times and have enjoyed it each time.

I really wanted to love this place. The atmosphere is great and it feels like a hidden gem in the suburbs. The menu looks very impressive(upscale pub concept) with entrée choices like lobster mac n cheese and smoked pork risotto. The tap beer selection is very large and full of variety(small craft to mainstream). I didn’t sample the«upscale» choices and went with a Cuban sandwich. Lackluster, flavorless, and generally unimpressive. I didn’t even finish the french fries.

They have a decent beer list. The have a decent wood-fired pizza. In the heart of the city this might elicit just a «meh» but up here this is reason to be glad. Bricks is one of the places we like to go when we don’t wish to go far. I am glad to see that the both the beer and food are still good.

The fiancé and I have been here a couple of times. The real draw for me to Bricks is their beer selection. Bricks’ tap selection is an oasis in the craft beer desert that is the northern suburbs. They’ve always had a nice selection of local and domestic craft beers and even a cider or two. The food is pretty much what you’d expect in a place such as this. Pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc. I’ve been pretty happy with the food I’ve had here. The fiancé likes that their menu indicates what dishes are gluten free. Service has been a bit hit or miss but never bad enough for me to want to stop coming here.

Really lacking for bar food in Minnesota. Beer selection is good, the prices are a little vague unless you ask. Nachos were salty as hell, but I kinda liked it like that. Half the items on the menu are burgers/sandwiches so don’t get excited to come here for dinner. I guess the place looks better than most bars, but the food just isn’t there to back it up.
