This is the first time I’ve stayed in Old Harbor and I was extremely pleased! The Ashely House is right off the beaten path behind The Harborside Inn. It is within walking distance to all of the hotspots! I booked through blockislandreservations and would definitely go this route again. Included was the 2 nights at the Ashley House, round trip ferry tickets from Point Judith, bike rental for two days, umbrella and beach chair rental for 2 days, 100 $ in food vouchers for 3 different restaurants and vouchers for breakfast both mornings from Aldo’s bakery. Anyone that’s been to BI before knows it isn’t cheap but this package was great! We stored our luggage at the Harborside while we hit the beach and waited for our room to be ready which it was 2 hours early! The room itself was spacious and comfortable. A big queen bed, large bureau, vanity area and separate bathroom and shower. It also had its own AC unit in the room which was a bonus since a lot of places on BI don’t offer AC. The only complaint I have about staying here is that there are NO towel racks in the bathroom to hang beach towels to dry. Other than that it was clean cozy and comfortable! We stayed in the«Rose» room.

Easily the nicest place I’ve stayed on the Island. A/c, private bath, clean and updated. We stayed in «Maria» which has a queen bed plus room for an air mattress which would sleep up to 4. I would not get the continental breakfast special again which consisted of stale pastries from the downstairs bakery served by surly teens. Probably is worth getting the bike if you plan to get around the island.
