Great food and even better service. My wife and I came looking for a great burger and Mohegan delivered. We each got the Burlington, extra rare with caramelized onions and they were fantastic! BTW, get the onion rings! They are like BUDDAH!!!

Good apps except mussels. They are the worst mussels I ever had. Horrible service, I would have given a 1 star if the apps were not great. We waited for an hour for our food to be delivered only to get our pad Thais full of salt. No apology from the waitress, no empathy either. I strongly recommend don’t come here at their busy time, they are inexperienced and lack customer service. The receptionist was super sweet but the waitress was Cold. Probably too overworked. Also they could not deliver even the kids meal for 1 hour(tenders and fries) and absolutely no apology for that either.

Located so close to the ferry this has become our ‘must stop’ for recommendations! After a trip to Montréal and discovering poutine, we were so excited to find a New England version on the menu! Seriously, clam chowder, with cheese and bacon over fries!!? It doesn’t get any better than that! The teriyaki pork salad was amazing! The pork was tender and marinated so well. Everything just went together so perfectly! My husband got the Cuban sandwich. He said it was delicious(and spicy!) We had great service and the food and view can’t be beat!

Solid food and service. Mohegan Café is a nice alternative to the pricier restaurants at the hotels along the harbor. The calamari was delicious and is prepared in three different ways depending on what style you like. The nachos are also a nice appetizer option. Our server was very nice and had a lot of information to share about the island and the activities and sightseeing available. They also brew their own beer and I recommend the pilsner if you like a light refreshing beer for a hot day.

My fiancé and I have now been to this spot twice. The food is good in our opinion but not great. Better than your standard cut but still not amazing. We got two appetizer’s. The crab cakes and the clam chowder fries. The crab cakes came out including two cakes both fairly large. They were very good, but with that said, very spicy. More so than I prefer. The clam chowder fries were good. I thought it very unique to drizzle a clam sauce over loaded french fries. Terrible for you and a delight! I think my major qualm is their house crafted beer’s. I feel they are advertised bad. I got their stout. The thing tasted like an ipa. To note it also was incredibly light bodied. It’s not that it was bad by any means. I just ordered a stout as I wanted a nice thick beer. What I got was an ipa advertised as a stout. Our first visit we got some kind of fish and chips dish that was again good but not outstanding though large portioned. We also got the house pilsner which to our delight, seemed like a pilsner. Our most recent visit the bartender served us at our table and she was very courteous to our needs. We were happy with the service provided in that regard. Overall it’s worth a visit just for the sake of giving it a try. Perhaps your taste’s are different than ours!

Good spot, nice selection of entrée’s and appetizers. The waitress serving us was super efficient. A little dark inside, my picture will explain. I didn’t use a flash to show how dark it is. That was my only complaint. My wife, my son and I all had seafood dishes and they were cooked perfect.

This place was a highlight for us. Our server, Mark, made us very welcome. The food was very good and their beer is worth a try. Thank you Mark & The Mohegan Café.

Pros: Beer was only 5.00 a glass and they have flights, the scenery was very nice looking where the vessel comes. The food was pretty good, but I think could have been better. The salad was not drenched in dressing, waitress was very friendly as well as other people picking up plates when waitress was not around they have this type of everyone helping each other out type of vibe I think. Cons: I had the ahi tuna salad. I asked for it seared and it was but not crusty just mearly cooked on the outside maybe my fault not saying I like it cripsy on the outside. Also when It came the fish was room temperature tasted like it was done a while ago. Oh yeah and table was so wobbly reminded me of something of a see saw.

We came here right towards the end of the their season. The island was still pretty busy and they had about 11 weddings the weekend we were there(how is that possible for such a small place?). Anyway, the hubs and I really enjoyed this place. I thought their food was excellent, although the shrimp ceviche was a little too small for the price — Dan’s burger was gigantic and my fish tacos were excellent. They also have a little bar right in the front that can probably get a little crowded, but since it wasn’t so busy on the island, we were fine. This is the first place we tried«not your father’s rootbeer» AND where I had this great dark and stormy with home made ginger beer. The staff was really nice, fast and attentive.

Get the seviche! That’s how they spell it. Perhaps the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten in my life! Reminded us if our honeymoon in Costa Rica. So fresh and so delicious! We enjoyed the rib eye as well. Great service too, takes a while so you don’t feel rushed, but not slow by any means. Highly recommend!

Food and service was perfect! Calamari is amazing and the seafood pasta is the best I’ve had EVER. I literally had like 6 lobster claws and like 20 scallops! So yummy! Our waiter was super helpful and very nice!

Excellent lunch and great service! I eat mostly vegetarian and the Café Salad here is large and loaded with high nutrition vegetables like spinach, broccoli, field greens. Ginger beer is brewed on premises(along with some great beers but I haven’t tried those yet), and it really hit the spot after breathing diesel fumes on the ferry ride over. Mary got a salad topped with lightly battered calamari which was also delicious and Kayla got his gigantic loaded nachos plate that was too much for us to finish, even as a team. Ali got a veggie wrap that was good but she felt it had too much vinaigrette. I unwrapped her second half and polished it off. We even got carried away and finished with a slice of chocolate cake(heavy on the fudgey ganache) and a delicious cheesecake. Loved everything and I hope to go back for the brews.

This café is in an easy to find location on Water Street directly across from the ferry terminal at Old Harbor on the island. Overall, the food is pretty good and you do get good service. We visited on a Saturday night around 8:00, and it certainly was busy, but it began to clear out as the departure time of the last ferry approached. However, although it did clear out, the restaurant’s acoustics make it difficult to hear even people at your own table if a loud group is in the main dining area. We ordered appetizers, and we tried the calamari, the smoked salmon flatbread, and the ceviche. The calamari was cooked excellently well, but it came with a very small amount of sauce and very few jalapeño rings(RI style includes these). The ceviche was very good, but it wasn’t chopped up into small enough pieces to eat it sufficiently well on the nachos provided – all shrimp were in whole pieces. It might be best for the restaurant to consider serving it with something like pita bread. The flatbread was great, and the blueberry ale was very good. Overall you get a decent dining experience here. However it, like many places on the main stretch, is a magnet for party groups, so don’t expect a quiet dinner.

If you are looking the save a few dollars on the main drag this is the place you will probably end up. Had the mahi mahi sandwich which tasted like someone dropped it in the salt container and was fishing around for it for hours causing the fish to absorb ungodly amounts of salt. It was not good if I haven’t painted a good enough picture for you. Then there was the burger which I judge all restaurants by. If you can’t make a decent burger I question all your meal producing capabilities. It was dry as a bone and sandwiched between an enormous dry loaf. The service was actually really good which saves this from a 1 star review.

Showed up here on the earliest ferry ride we could find, and realized that 10am was probably too early to start hitting the breweries. After mucking around the island for the rest of the day, we circled back to the Mohegan to see what we had waited for all day. We sat down with another couple and both ordered a beer flight to whet our palate. Our sampler included a blueberry, pilsner, wheat beer and a stout, which all sounded very exciting from the mouth of the waitress. As a group, we sampled each beer at the same time, and unanimously we rose to the same conclusion on each. Every single beer was watery, virtually flavorless, and muddled, with no precise notes or highlights. We were very disappointed, and had expected so much more from this brewery. On the high notes, the Hot Sauce Chicken Fingers($ 8.95) were spicy, perfectly cooked, and juicy, delightful to say the least. Location is amazing, directly on the water with amazing views, accessible for walking or driving, with convenient street parking. I think our expectations were shattered on the beer side, but absolutely floored by the food. That said, with the options across the island, with virtually amazing views and locations anywhere you look, I’m surprised that they can sustain themselves with less than mediocre brews.

Ordered the ultimate nachos, coconut shrimp, ceviche, and blueberry ale. Everything was pretty average. The ceviche is usually supposed to be raw and diced up, but there was nothing raw and the shrimp was not diced at all. Service was pretty good– waiter was attentive and he came from New Zealand for the summer.

I really enjoyed my experience at the Mohegan Café and Brewery in Block Island! I had a few beers, and really enjoyed the Red ale — and had a great jerk chicken sandwich. I also enjoyed shooting the breeze with the bartender. Good spot, if back on BI — I’ll be back.

When on BI, it’s always good to have a reasonably priced lunch/dinner spot to count on. For me, Mohegan has been just that. While most restaurants on the island are going to run you more than fifteen bucks a plate, MC is the place where you can still get a great meal for ten bucks and under. I’ve had a couple of good dishes, but on my most recent trip I had one of their specials, an awesome blackened mahi mahi sandwich. The fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly and was on a fluffy brioche bun. I opted to get a side of mango chutney instead of the aioli which was delicious. I went with the sweet potato fries for a small up-charge, but the crinkle cut fries were worth it. They are a brewery, but for the most part I am not a huge fan of the brews. This is not because they aren’t well made, but I feel like most of the beers they make our Belgian style and that is just not my favorite. I’ve had their red ale, IPA and a porter at different times I’ve been and the only one I really cared for was the porter. The other two were a bit sweet for my taste. I’d like to try their cocktails some time. The atmosphere is pub like and very laid back. The service is friendly and we didn’t wait long to be seated or have our order taken. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and we enjoyed out experience throughout. I will definitely be back, as this has become my go to place on the island when I don’t want anything too expensive or fancy. The atmosphere is casual and fun and the food is always good.

Great food but disappointing beer.(Opposite of typical brewery.) Best dishes: * Vegetarian chili nachos with a side of fresh salsa * Ceviche, fresh and tasty * Scallops, the winner Very good service, and excellent mixed drinks. Sadly, the home brewed beer was not adequately flavorful.
