There’s often a long line outside this place. Maybe it’s the smell of the made-on-site waffle cones. That’s what got me in here. The ice cream is fine(have no idea where it is actually from) and certainly made better by the just-made waffle cone in which it sits. The waffle-cone itself was just fine, but the fresh making is a definite plus. You can, of course, opt to get your ice cream in other types of cones, or even in a cup.

Fantastic hand made ice cream and lots of flavors. I had cappuccino chip. Perfect. Didn’t seem pricey either.

The ice cream place is hard to miss when walking through town. There is a giant archway with the sign with big letters, and when you walk through, you find it around the corner. The ice cream is homemade and more than satisfying. This is the perfect compliment to your dinner out while vacationing on sunny Block Island. Update* We went back today and the line wasn’t long at all, yet service was very slow.

NOTHOMEMADE. They serve Turkey Hill ice cream. Poor service, long lines, mediocre product. Not handicap accessible. Trash cans overflowing. Poorly designed service area inside(everyone ends up crowded around one small area. Cash only.

I worked as at a diner /homemade ice cream shop for years. I tend to let a lot slide in food service, probably more than I should. But this place ticked me off enough to write a negative review on here. We ordered two iced coffees, a strawberry ice cream cone, a ginger milkshake, and a chocolate milkshake. Nothing too crazy. I’m given the strawberry cone, two coffee milkshakes, and a chocolate«milkshake» that was so watery it was chocolate milk. I asked for a new chocolate milkshake and the girl insisted it was a chocolate milkshake and that was that(even though the coffee milkshakes resembled milkshakes). And at the risk of being«that person,» if you can’t handle an order of two coffees, two milkshakes, and one cone you shouldn’t be working at an ice cream shop on Block Island. First time I have ever been disappointed by island ice cream. My son liked his strawberry. Husband liked the ginger. I didn’t end up having anything. Also, cash only. Saw more than one set of patrons have to leave because the signs aren’t very prominent. Will not be coming back.

One scoop of moose track ice cream, basically vanilla ice cream with drizzlings of chocolate. Serving was generous but ice cream was not very creamy. Kind of tasted like store bought ice cream. Cash only.

Close to town and convenient to the ferries! I enjoyed the chocolate in a sugar cone.

Had the peanut butter chocolate chip it was ok. Next day I had the raspberry chocolate chunk and it was also just ok. Looking forward to Katie’s in Hyannis no one compares!

The only reason that I give this place 2 stars, as opposed to 1, is the fact that ice cream can be procured for reasonable prices(given the island); they also make their waffle cones, apparently. That being said: the service was terrible. The people who work here, at least during the summer, were incredibly rude. I’m pretty sure that the ice cream is not homemade… There’s another review that confirms this. In addition, they keep the ice cream far too warm. My girlfriend got a cone, on a fairly mild-weather day(not too hot) and it melted in all of 3 minutes. There are so many better places to go on Block Island, that are so close. Might as well avoid this place altogether.

Go here rather than the other 4 spots right in town! Really great homemade creamy ice cream! About 12 flavors — many unique & obviously the classics too. Rich, dense & chock full of good ingredients like walnuts, cashews, Oreos, peaches etc. Thick rich hot fudge, real whipped cream not out of a can. I loved the double chocolate & the caramel salted cashew.

Icecream was not bad, I had a brownie with icecream and it was big enough to share with three people. Not the greatest icecream but I think the best in the island.

Maybe a 4 but… I understand It’s expensive on the island but here it seems more so… That being said, the ice cream is great and they have at any one time well over 20 flavors, and the best part you can ask for a sample for one or all and be cheerfully given a small little spoon of it. The homemade waffle cones are the BOMB!!! LOL and they are served in a cup so you don’t lose any to leakage. My GF has been coming to the island for over 24 years and this is always a stop for her and her daughters.

I have only tried the graham central station flavor — it is pretty good, though I’ve had better ice cream before. But before flocking right to the ice cream, there is a little cabinet of baked goods, and their homemade oreos are goooodddd!!! they have this peanut butter brownie that my tongue is imagining at this minute. I’m going to try it tomorrow hehe.

The ice cream is OK, but that’s all. I don’t know what the butterfat content is, but it definitely isn’t that«it’s so good, it’s worth dying early for» creamy richness and goodness of great premium ice cream. The counter help was rather unfriendly and made it seem like she was doing us a big favor by serving us… I realize that this a summer job for a kid who’ll probably never work here again, but I would hope and think the owners take note of how their employees treat their customers.

I had the flavored yogurt. It was good but $ 5 for a small cup with sprinkles. It was unbearable hot inside with no air conditioning. My friend had regular ice cream and it was decent.

I LOVED this place! Their ice cream is sooooo good! I totally recommend the turtle sundae, it is huge but delicious. It is not expensive as I thought. Very easy access and close to everything in Old Harbor.

This place is still my family’s ice cream spot, but… the quality has gone down hill in the past ten years. Don’t get the brownie sundae — the brownies taste stale. And they no longer make chocolate whipped cream. They told us they’ll be making some next week. Lame. If you do get a sundae, ask for extra whipped cream. Those are my thoughts.

Ice cream the ocean and Rebecca The Ice Cream Place is one one of the first places that catches your eye when you get off the ferry. Conveniently located on water street towards Rebecca, it always seems crowded during the summer months and along with Aldo’s one of the most popular places for ice Cream on Block Island. Just a tiny place with some benches outside but the view of course is beautiful. The ice cream itself is pretty good but nothing really exceptional. If you put this place in the middle of some mall away form the ocean nobody would ever remember it. But being on Block Island and sitting outside and watching the ocean while eating your ice cream is what makes this place very special.
