I walked in to buy a tire and asked an older balding employee standing near the back if he had what I needed and he rolled his eyes and very sarcastically said «Ya» and then turned and faced away from me. A younger employee saw him do it and showed me where it was but I will never go back there. Mfr needs a good A-​beating to bring him back down to earth.

So I just broke my rear derailer hanger on my GT sensor 9r. Went to the bike shop. They did not have the right part. They spent a while looking in a box of hangers. Knowing i was gearing up for the ICEMAN they took a bike off the floor and took the hanger off that one for me!!! I was thrilled. this is why you buy bikes from local bike shops. Awesome customer service and i cant stop talking about it.

They always have the small stuff in stock (good)
They always talk to customers at register (lame)! This should be done on the floor not while at the register. This takes FOREVER when someone is buying a bike and getting the safety rundown while I’m waiting to spend $ 10 on something.
Everyone is very nice and friendly which is great. But checkout should be for that only so I can get my small parts and hit the trail.
Local bike shops are muck better but rarely have the small parts in stock (tubes, etc)

went to four other stores first looking for BMX tires today. after complete failure, i found these guys. immense selecion of everything you could want for your biking needs. friendly staff, and the prices are pretty darn reasonable, too. this is where i’ll be going for all my bike needs now.

When we left SoCal we missed Performance Bicycle and were thrilled when they opened in Michigan last spring. This is a great large bicycle store that caters to a wide range of bicycle needs on a family to enthusiast scale rather than triathlete or road athlete. GREAT sales and discounts and variety.
