What a find a true gem of a place. A little bit of a back story. We dropped our daughter off to the hair school for a tour and information gathering trip. While she was in the school we walked the neighborhood a short walk may I say. As we turned onto Washington Street heading to Bloomfield Ave we pass by Anthony’s we looked into saw two guys eating we as what’s the name of this place. So I step off the sidewalk into the street to look up oh it’s Anthony’s. I say that cause we saw on Google Maps their place pics of food looked excellent. So we retrace our steps back to Anthony’s walk in and up to the counter to be greeted by Phil. He proceeded to take our order and take us to a table. The place is small a great place for you and your love. It has a nice ambiance the tables have a small flower arrangement but it’s perfect for the table as it’s a couple’s table you know two seater. At the counter you see the desserts I know what I’m getting. I made myself a coffee of course my wife grabbed a cream soda if you going to go crazy go all the way. I ordered the chicken, peppers, mozzarella with spaghetti squash my wife ordered the chicken and waffles sliders. When our plates came out I had to say a prayer for the food cause it was in serious trouble. My dish looked delicious but my wife dish made me mad. She was nice enough to let me have a taste incredible the waffle light, airy, fluffy what ever you want to call it. What you can say AMN I know what i will get the next time I go. My dish took no back seat mind you the pepper on top of the mozzarella cheese on top of the grilled chicken. The spaghetti squah made for a perfect balance the sauce was butternut squah with bacon bits. Was I happy with my dish yes indeed looked I was being healthy squash, peppers and chicken. I wish I would have BYOB a nice wine would’ve gone perfect with my dinner. My wife had no complaints and said thanks to our daughter for she wanted to check out the school and we found a gem of a place. Look Ma I ate all my vegetables can I have dessert. When we were finished and thd nice lady cleared our table Phil asked do we have room for dessert. We said of course to go though which he said come up to the counter so he could explain what’s in the showcase. I will keep it short I will take them all a slice of NY cheesecake and a slice of carrot cake to go please. The cheesecake was great as I was told the carrot cake rich and moist. I would give Anthony’s more stars if I could their hours are great Thursday and Friday dinner hours rest of the week close early.

Went last Friday with good friends. What a treasure. The hospitality we received was second to none. And we are still talking about the food. Obviously the cheesecake was incredible but stay for the whole meal. You won’t be disappointed. BYOB always a plus. We will be back.

We have been to Anthony’s Cheesecake Café twice this past week. Dinner was exceptional. The pot roast was excellent and so was the salmon. Anthony’s BLT and macaroni salad was delicious. Dinner comes with a house salad and to top it off it’s a BYOB. Anthony and his staff are very warm and friendly. We like that the menu changes weekly with wonderfully different entrees. It’s a very clean café with bright colorful flower an each table and we enjoy the choice of music that is played. It’s worth the trip from northern Bergen County. Thanks Anthony for your gracious hospitality… we will be back soon with friends and we will make sure we save room for dessert next time.

One of my favorite local restaurants!!! Whether you want dessert, breakfast, or dinner… this is the place! They have a variety of gluten free options and have no issues making tayloring a special dish for food allergies! Love all the menu options. There is definetely something for everyone here. The service is always friendly and fast and the food never dissapoints! My favorite is their cauliflower pizza! But my husband likes the salmon or the eggs and sweet potato hash!

It took 15 minutes to get a seat, and after 20 minutes, I was informed that they were out of soup, and I watched two other parties that came after me get served. I waited 45 mins and not even an apology. We got so frustrated, we left without eating and still no sign of our food. HORRIBLE experience, and will NEVERRRRRR go back. Such high hopes smashed by the worst service I have EVER had.

If I could rate a half star I would. We didn’t have to wait long for our table which was nice but it took forever for someone to come take our order. He came back and told us that what we wanted wasn’t available so we ordered something simple off of the brunch menu. LITERALLYEVERYTABLETHATSATAFTERUS was served their food. We sat there for 40LOOONGGG minutes. No one came to apologize or give us any reason as to why it was taking so long. It wasn’t a full house and the staff didn’t seem to even notice or care. We walked straight out and will NEVER go there again.

Hands down best restaurant in Bloomfield! Food is always fresh and tasty! I’ve eaten here on numerous occasions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They always accommodate dietary restrictions. Highly recommend the pulled pork, tomato soup, steak/spaghetti squash special, and omelettes. Don’t miss stopping in if you’re in the area!

Cute hole in the wall place with a great variety of menu options for both lunch and breakfast. I had the quinoa with cranberries and walnuts to start which was generously portioned. I also had the veggie burger on multigrain bread which was very good. My guy had the pulled pork sandwich on Texas toast which he enjoyed very much as well, although the Texas toast made it a bit heavy/greasy. Both came with a side of macaroni salad which was tasted homemade and fresh. We had a mini cheesecake to go and it was definitely the best part of the meal. To die for!!! Service was attentive and lovely. I will have to return to try some of their other enticing menu items.

I was expecting more, really I was. I really wanted to give it 5 stars but I can’t. This place was just average for me. Now don’t get me wrong, the ambience was nice, it’s a cute lil café, old school 80’s love songs were crooning in the air, decorated nicely, it was nice enough. But the food didn’t necessarily WOW me wanting me to come back for more. Prices were decent enough, portions were big and filling, I guess my palate prefers more seasoned food. And might I add that the service was kinda slow, there weren’t many patrons there on a Tuesday afternoon so I don’t understand why, and it’s not like we ordered some spectacular something that would take so much time to cook. We ordered the chicken n waffles which were very good and a chicken cutlet w broccoli rabe and fresh mozzarella-ok but not fabulous. For dessert was the brownie explosion cheesecake which was actually really good. And last but not least, the carrot cake: I’m sorry, and these might be FIGHTINGWORDS, but MINEISBETTER, much better lol! I’ll try this place again and follow up w another review

I work a few blocks from this place and finally got the chance to try it. I got their Chicken Caesar Wrap and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. It tasted so fresh and the chicken was FLAVOREDSOWELL! The owner is very friendly and even after there was a slight price discrepancy he went out of his way to make it right. I will definitely be returning. Not only is the food delicious but the customer service was nothing short of fantastic as well. I love when you’re able to tell that your business truly matters to a place. I picked up the Carmel pecan cheesecake for my husband and from the smell of it I’m sure he’s going to love it.

Yes! I haven’t been before now because they aren’t open many evenings, but they recently added Friday nights for«light dinner bites» so I thought I’d give it a try. Their menu changes often and I was looking to get something to go(long day, wanted to get home and get in comfy clothes). They don’t list their Friday specials online, so I had to go order in shop, which isn’t a big deal, but I prefer calling ahead. The ambience is pretty cute. They have fake flowers on the table, a fireplace(not lit but still cute) and romantic low lighting. It’s got charm. The guy who rung us up was very friendly and helpful for suggestions. I ended up with a shrimp burrito and it was massive. It was hard to eat pick up and handle! But it tasted great and was packed with rice and beans and some large sized shrimp. My boyfriend got a chicken cutlet with broccoli rabe sandwich which was also tasty and a hefty sandwich. Both came with potato salad, which neither of us were fans of. Can you get dinner without cheesecake at a place with cheesecake in the title? No, no you can’t. It seems like another thing that rotates so they run out or only have slices of a few available. If you want a whole one, it would be wise to call ahead. I got a slice of oreo cheesecake and it was so rich and sweet. I could see it being a little too sweet for some people’s tastes, but I loved it! Overall I was pretty impressed by my meal and O hope to try out their brunch or stop in for some cheesecake to go again soon.

I came here for brunch on a Sunday and was seated right away. They close at 2pm though. It is very formally decorated despite the servers dressing very casually and the prices were very reasonable. I liked a lot of the options on the menu so it was hard to choose! They have a lot of egg dishes and wraps as well as sandwiches and salads. Nice to see some different and healthy options. I decided to go with the salmon burger. It was well toasted on whole wheat and I liked the amount of avocado and tasty mayo spread. I would have enjoyed fresh salmon better but obviously that would raise the price. It came with nice coleslaw as a bonus, although I might have chosen a different side if I’d known there would be one. I tasted the chicken and waffles which was very good although the maple syrup didn’t taste pure. The highlight of this place is definitely the cheesecake! I couldn’t leave without getting a slice and for 6.95 it is worth it. I went with the half cheesecake half mousse option. Wow! It was so good! I am definitely interested in coming back here to try their other dishes. They also have dinner a couple nights a week. I liked how friendly and laid back the place was although the décor was a bit ostentatious. Overall it’s a solid place to get brunch or lunch.

On the continued campaign of trying difference brunch spots in the area this popped up. This spot appears family run and seemed to be getting quite a bit traffic as we sat which to me is a good indicator of how good things are here. I got the chicken and waffles, amongst a few other enticing on the menu. Waffles were nice, comes with syrup and butter if you want. The chicken was great, CRISPY! Just how I like and full of flavor. Nice large pieces too. Didn’t stop their though! Bacon, cheese and pears! Yes, for some reason pears were on it but it was good! Sweet and warm! Going great with what was already an awesome entrée. It also comes with coleslaw which I’m not fond of, and am kind of bummed because I see in the photos that you can get other sides, had I known I would’ve chose something else, I actually didn’t even know it would come with anything at all. The salmon sandwich I tried wasn’t bad, but could’ve been a bit more mayo-ey. I also got a slice of the mousse cheese cake. Which I must say is quite good and also mother approved. As she liked it too. I’d like to give this place another go and would recommend a try here.

This is not just desserts… don’t get mistaken with the store name. The menu is geared towards breakfast and lunch… and yes they have brunch on Sundays yay! So here’s what you need to know: — seats about 20 – 25 people(mid size place) — off street parking and there’s a metered lot on the side of the building — always ask for the daily specials(can also be checked online) THEYDONOTHAVE A HARDPAPERHANDEDTOYOUATTHETABLE… you view it on the monitor by the dessert area aka the cashier’s side(I personally did not like this… felt it was inconvenient especially that I had children with me) — free WiFi(just ask for password) — carrot cake fanatic? try their homemade one… so fresh and so good — Nutella cappuccino is delicious Now why did I give it a 2.5. First they forgot my water. We ordered and my quiche was the wrong one. They gave me bacon cheddar instead of the goat cheese and spinach… i didn’t realize until I was halfway(mind you I was hangry!!! l. No one checked on us to ask how the food was. The side salad with my quiche was typical. I mean it’s salad and it wasn’t anything special… just romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion and balsamic dressing. The added side pasta was just ok, it was a bit too tangy. I actually liked my husband’s better, his was more of a mayo based but wasn’t drenched. His sandwich(chicken cutlet) was the best meal out of all of us. Definitely try their chicken cutlet!!! Roasted potatoes are delicious… my kids didn’t want them and when you took your first bite… it was nice and crispy… yum! Again, try their fresh carrot cake… mmmmmmm! We bought a few slices(almost $ 6) of cakes to a friend for his bday… favorites in order… best to ehh: Chocolate Mousse(I want it again) Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake Reeses Cheesecake Oreo Cheesecake Regular Cheesecake I did not like their black and cookie cake… neither did my kids. So overall… I gave them average… would I come back? Yah I would… their daily specials always sound pretty yummy. I Def would give a second chance and hoping for a better review from myself.

Came by on a late Saturday afternoon with the family with less than an hour before closing time and we were able to snag seating right away(arrived around 2:20ish and it closes at 3). For food, I was stuck between ordering the chicken cutlet club and the BLT when the waitress recommended I just get the chicken club and add avocados to it, killing two birds with one stone — absolutely brilliant and solved the issue! Now if this sandwich was the only option on the menu, I would keep coming back again and again, it was that good. But based on the fact that they constantly change out the specials and every single option on the menus look just as good as the next one, I am definitely coming back here again. The sandwich itself came with a tasty pasta salad which I also polished off in no time. Besides that, my wife ordered the spinach and goat cheese quiche, but they brought out the bacon and cheese quiche instead. Pretty good. My children split an order of the waffles with cookie butter, very tasty, but personally I like my waffles a little bit on the crispy side. Fresh fruit and roasted potatoes came out as sides and gotta say the potatoes were a really good addition, perfectly roasted and crisp. For dessert, we ordered the carrot cake which was really good! We also had to attend a birthday party later that evening so ordered a few other slices of dessert to go which included the NY cheesecake, Reese’s Cheesecake, Oreo Cheesecake, and a layered chocolate mouse /cheesecake. All very excellent! As for the location, the only real issue we had was it was cold since we were seated right next to the entrance, so every time the door opened, we were hit with a draft. Keep in mind, it’s a small place with limited seating and since we got there late I didn’t want to argue too much, but we were hoping the table could have been moved over to accommodate our request, but it wasn’t. The other issue was since we sat there past closing(once again, we got there a bit late), the waitress we started with left and service slowed a tad bit since it was just the owners that were working at that point. All in all, not huge issues and I don’t hold them against Anthony’s.

What we ordered: 1. Build your own omelette w/mushrooms and cheddar 2. Some kind of special of the day — hash browns, sausage, sweet potato, bacons, eggs and avocado 3. Smoked salmon on wheat toast with cream cheese and tomato 4. Bacon, egg and spinach Flatbread First off, everything was incredibly delicious. Fresh ingredients, cooked perfectly. I couldn’t get enough even when I was full. The staff here is so friendly and just listing off some specials, they seemed like they truly love what they do. It was so refreshing to come to a business like this. Their long, extensive list of different drinks was just a bonus. They have possibly every type of drink you can imagine. The space is comfy and festively decorated for Halloween. An overall lovely spot for family meals. And their cheesecakes are incredible. We ordered two slices of the salted caramel pecan and one of the classic NY style. Really worth coming to.

Pretty funky joint. Food is layered with lots of flavor like cilantro with the pico de gallo. with the breakfast burrito we ordered. Coffee is self served. The place is tucked away or hidden by the obnoxious avalon apartment building. I would come back to try the baked goods.

What a neat little gem in Bloomfield! I’ve had this place bookmarked for awhile and decided to finally try it out for lunch. I started things off with a cookie butter latte, which wasn’t as sweet as I expected but still had a warm and soothing taste to it.(Should probably mention that they have extra beverage options written out in the front that aren’t on the menu, such as pumpkin chai, spiced apple chai, etc.) Afterwards I decided to be adventurous and try the cactus pear and mango salad, which also had some diced watermelon and strawberries in it too; a pleasant, sweet surprise! Would definitely recommend the sweet potato and pork empanada as a side as well– for about 2.50ish a pop you can’t go wrong, and your taste buds will thank you. It’s obvious that this place is famous for its desserts. As I enjoyed my meal I couldn’t help but notice the swarm of ongoing patrons eyeing the various cakes on display with wonder and intrigue. I opted for a slice of Chocolate Mousse cake myself, which was delightful as expected but filling; I decided to take half of it to go. Currently there’s construction around the area so it may be a bit tricky to find parking, but this place is definitely worth the trip. Thank you Anthony for the incredible meal and service. :)
