Ultimate Visions Hair Studio

So I found out about this salon by googling Hair salons near teaneck. I went on their site and was impressed and then checked out Unilocal and Facebook. My friend also visited this salon in the past and was able to give her two thumbs up. I was very iffy because I had tons of bad experience dealing with «African American salons». Either from customer service, lack of talent, professionalism, cleanliness, etc. So I gave them a call and spoke to Stylist Mel and made an appt for me and my boyfriend (his dreads). I went there New Years eve. And I was blown away and the picky person I am it takes a lot to blow me away. From cleanliness, to outstanding customer service, exceptional customer service, and pure talent. Something else that caught my eye is that the stylist has their licenses on the wall which I have never seen in other salons. Anywho so Mel did my hair and gave me a hair consultation and told me what’s wrong with my hair and what we need to do next time and sort of delveloped a plan. I was impressed. My hair turned out beautiful «twist out style». Oh and she did my boyfriends dreads which to me looked like he need to give up and cut them off. but she worked her magic and for the first time he looked nice with them after he was done. She developed a plan for his dreads too. She blew me away and I am now a client. I can now say goodbye to Dominican salons and hello to hair stylist Mel here at ultimate visions.

I purchased a deal for a mani pedi at Ultimate Visions. Although Bloomfield is out of the way for me, I take grad classes on Sundays in S. Orange and was planning on treating myself after a long morning of class. Unfortunately, after purchasing the deal, I called to book and found out that they do not do nails on Sundays so it didn’t make the deal as convenient as my intended reason for purchasing. Anyway, I booked an appointment and made the 30 min drive.
I arrived around 20 min early and they took me right away. The salon was pretty packed with men and women getting their hair done (there is a barber shop towards the back). Jamie did my nails and was very friendly and did a great job. It wasn’t necessarily a relaxing spa experience because it was a busy salon, but I love my nails and was in and out in under and hour. They also offered me a $ 25 credit on a facial, which I thought was nice.
When I returned to my car, I received a parking ticket. The ticket was given to me literally within 10 minutes of the meter expiring, meaning the meter maid must be watching cars like a hawk. Obviously, this is in no way the salon’s fault, but I figured I should point it out to anyone traveling to Bloomfield. I did a little online research and learned that Bloomfield is bankrupt and are really strict (to put it nicely) with parking, including where your car is parked in relation to the meter and really nit picky things like that to squeeze as much money out of business goers as possible. I’d like to say I would go back to this salon, but I would probably have anxiety about getting some parking violation the whole time. The area is also a little sketchy.
