Had an appointment for blow outs on Saturday at 8am and 9am(we had made the appointments two weeks prior over the phone). We got to the salon shortly before 8 and it was not open yet. We waited outside until 8:20 without anyone showing up to even open the salon let alone do our hair. Called and left a message to ask what was going on. Never got a call back. Very disappointed to be left scrambling at the last minute. Not a fun start to the weekend!

Very disappointed in this place. Poor blow out but more amazing was the attitude of the stylist. She clearly hates her job and was not even going to make an effort to hide it. I understand she has only been there a few months but no excuse for rudeness. She was running 15 minutes late, no apology, extremely rough and scratched my scalp hard when shampooing, I am still sore days later. She did a terrible job of blowing my hair out. I could have done much better doing it myself. In fact, I had to go home and redo it before going out. She rolled her eyes when I asked that she not put too much product in and rolled her eyes when I said I wanted it to last a few days. I wish I had got her name, but she didn’t even introduce herself when she started. If she hadn’t been the only one in the store that evening I would have asked for another stylist. There are other really good blow out bars in the cities, my advise is to avoid Blast at all costs. No one deserves to pay to be treated rudely and then get a blow out that looks like it was done by a six year old.

I had such high hopes for this place, I really did, but I should’ve looked at the previous reviews. They still get 2 stars from me for at least giving me a nice wash, but that is as far as I will go. I want to say that I am not whimp when it comes to hair. I grew up with younger siblings and was a tosser and turner in bed, and had to learn early to suck it up when it came to brushing out tangly, messy hair with pieces of play doh in it. Despite my high pain tolerance, I was teary eyed at the end of my session with the stylist at Blast today. She just yanked my hair like there was no tomorrow and several times I considered asking her if I could just brush my hair out myself. This was however, not the worst part of my visit there; I came in and was greeted my a girl who kept doing stuff on her cellphone and who wasn’t very helpful overall, that should’ve been my first clue that the experience might not meet my expectations. The attitude of the employees was just the worst. I tried to make small talk again and again and was always met with uninterested replies. It feels very awkward how they make you sit with your face towards the entrance of the store instead of them situating you at the back of the store facing a mirror like most other salons. It made me feel like I could not have a say in the styling of my hair because they just show you your result at the end and ask you to say yay or nay. It felt like it was too late to complain by then and I really didn’t have the confidence to do so anyway in front of someone who seemed displeased with having me there already. I was kind of surprised when she got out the curling iron, because I was sure that I asked for a blowout, not standard curls. I wanted the airy, voluminous feel that comes from using a round brush, not the spiral curls with flat roots that I ended up with. Thank god for my boyfriend being there and blatantly saying«we don’t want to tip» for me, because at that point I just wanted to run to the nearest bathroom and cry for a bit. I felt like I was not welcome sitting in their chairs, like they were annoyed with me taking up their time and like I was not worth saying a few polite words to. I just wanted to feel pretty but left with less confidence than I came in with.

Poor customer service and professionalism but if you need a decent blowout on the fly, it works.

Terrible! This salon LOST our 8 am reservations for three people, including my goddaughter who was graduating this morning. What a mess this place is! They had no record whatsoever of our reservation although it was made INPERSON, right in the salon, three weeks ago. Two of the stylists had said they would come in early for us. They even gave my friend an appointment card. How unreliable is that! Steer clear! NOT for special events! We were left scrambling this morning.

Just terrible. Charged me an extra $ 10 for an «updo» when they just pinned my hair to the side and it took about a minute. Will never return. Place is a rip off and when you ask for a certain style they don’t do it, they just basically curl your hair. I asked for the«boho» style I believe and I ended up with curls that I could have done better myself. Thanks for nothing

The only reason I continue to go to Blast is because my stylist(Chantra Vann) is amazing she does a great job with my hair. I went to Cole’s in Eagan and they damaged my hair badly. It was dry and chemically mistreated after going to see Chantra and following her tips my hair looks amazing! Love her. I prefer her over any of the other ladies.

They let you BYOB, which is great, since you’ll need to be drunk to go here. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but this place didn’t deliver. I felt like my hair wasn’t too different than normal. I have long hair and wanted it curled, which it was. There was some volume, but it didn’t really«wow» me. I have really fine hair and I could hear and feel my stylist pulling and ripping out my hair the whole time. It was freaking me out and had I not had plans at the mall after, I probably would have stopped her and left. For the rest of the night, I kept finding broken stray hairs or little hairballs either hanging out in my hair or on my clothes. I shouldn’t be «fixing» my blow out by pulling my hair out at the end of it. I really hated how much product was used. When I walked outside, and the wind blew, the left side of my hair got tangled up in itself and was never the same again. Had there been less product, that wouldn’t have happened. There’s no way in hell this would EVER last more than one day, despite what the stylist told me. I’m not sure why, but this place has a HUGE lack of mirrors. They have floor to ceiling glass walls looking out into the mall, which I’m sure draws people in. But I really feel like they could get the same point across while being transparent and allowing customers watch what’s happening. They have small, table top size mirrors that they set at the edge of the work station for you to view your hair at the end, when everything is said and done. All I can tell you about my hair from that view was that the top of my head has hair and there’s a ceiling with light fixtures. The hair washing sink really irritated my head. I didn’t realize it at the time, but later that night and for a couple days later, my head throbbed and I had an egg sized lump. I want to say it’s just a fluke, but I feel like it’s the universe telling me to never go back.

The first time I’ve been here, I had my Clip in hair extensions put in and styled by Olivia, and it was fantastic! She was quick and the price was great. I also got my makeup done and it was not up to my standards at all, in fact it was bad. I emailed the manager and she took care of it right away. I’ve been back in numerous times and its only for one thing, my clip in hair extensions styled and put in by Oliva. I haven’t tried anything else, I’m giving a 5* review to Oliva!!! I already booked another appointment with her tomorrow. P. S. only advice to Oliva is brush gentle please lol, but I guess beauty is pain!

My stylist was nice enough, but the end result wasn’t good. I asked for volume on top with no part. When it was finished my hair was flattened to my scalp with a severe part. It was weirdly curled on top, & just not attractive. I also had so much product in my hair that I couldn’t even run my fingers through it. It felt dirty. Just a let down in general. A good blow out doesn’t need a ton of products or a curling iron. I went home & washed my hair.

This was my first blow out and I was very happy with the results! I don’t remember my stylist’s name but I’d recommend her. The one complaint I do have about Blast is the lack of professionalism the stylists had during my visit. My hair was being washed at the same time as another clients. All the while, our stylists were complaining to each other about various aspects of their job– that some girls were slow at styling, some styles required«short cuts» to get them done in time, and various complaints about upcoming potential long appointments. Even while my hair was being styled, many of the stylists complained about not being able to find the tool or product they needed. They sounded very frustrated with how the shop was organized/unorganized. There really didn’t seem like there was a leader or supervisor on the floor to manage them. If so, I’m sure attitudes like this wouldn’t have been tolerated. These types of comments can make someone feel pretty uncomfortable and I’d like to think that no «short cuts» were taken with my style, especially at $ 40+tip.

Wasn’t a fan. The stylist kept burning my scalp when she was drying my hair. I asked for a beachy wave and specifically said I didn’t want tight curls or ringlets. She didn’t turn me toward the mirror until she was done and I felt as if I lost 6 inches of length because the curls were so tight. I felt like Shirley Temple. It was a very immature style for my age and very different from the picture I picked out. The unfortunate part about not being shown the look until she was done, I felt it was too late to change it. I did ask for it to be toned down a bit, so she ran her fingers thru it. I definitely wouldn’t go back to this blow dry bar. It can be a fun and pampering experience, but I really disliked my hairstyle. A boho beachy wave is not what I got :(

I have been to Blast multiple times and never had bad service. My stylist Tiffany listens to what I want and always makes sure we are on the same page for my style. I always walk out looking fabulous!
