College town bar right across the street from IU… and we came on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so it was totally dead because all of the students had gone home for the holidays. Doh. We were in town for a wedding that was held at IU, so of course there were tons of IU alums in our party, and the guys were probably reliving their glory days by coming back to this bar, haha. We didn’t need a crowd to make our own party, and we ordered round after round of shots from the extensive drink menu. I finally got to try the infamous stuffed bread sticks, and they were pillow-y, dense, decadent… and delicious with the nacho cheese and ketchup dipping sauces. The electronic basketball hoop game in the corner was a new addition since the guys left campus, so they were elated to play several rounds. I tried my best but was no match for the former athletes. Still super fun though. I was excited to see liquid cocaine shots on the menu because my coworker had mentioned that drink to me for the first time at a happy hour not too long ago, and I was curious as to how it would taste. I was guessing it would be strong, but it was actually a weak and fruity drink. Kind of like punch, LOL. I also had a buttery nipple shot, which was sweet and creamy. And a fireball shot, which was cinnamon-y. I’m sure the atmosphere would be totally different when school was in session, but I still had fun with just us and a few other folks there. I can make my own party and didn’t mind dancing around the bar by myself. ;)

Smells awful and my coat was stolen out of coat check. I tried to talk to the bartender, but she told me «that’ happens, sorry» WTF.

Decent bar and drinks. This place is the definition of a college bar, and has the smell and crowd to match. Despite that, it’s still part of the college experience.

The service here is usually alright as long as they are not too busy. The food is good! You have to come on a Monday around 7. It’s not too busy and the wings are .25 a piece and their pepperoni and cheese stuffed breadsticks are .50. The only real negative is that the place is somewhat in a state of disrepair and the place has a smell to it.

Went to school at iu and kilroys was my go to place. Came down here for the Ohio state football game and it was awful. It literally smelled like someone died! The bathroom floor was covered in toilet paper and smelled like someone peed all over the floor. What happened to management caring about their bar. Literally couldn’t be in there for more than 10 minutes because the smell was so bad.

If the term«college bars» was in the dictionary, Kilroy’s on Kirkwood could easily have it’s picture listed there. It’s the quintessential college bar — loud, crowded, not particularly clean all the time, sometimes rowdy and it has that«old beer» smell. But if you’re an IU alum, you’ll almost always stop by here if you’re in Bloomington for a night out.

It’s pretty hit or miss depending on the time you go. If it’s super busy, I wouldn’t recommend going, people pack in here like sardines and the service plummets. After 11, the bar tends to start smelling like puke and sweat. 25c wing night isn’t a bad deal, but the wings are meh… the quesadillas though… amazing. This bar has so many specials it’s kind of hard to avoid whether you like it or not.

Pros: Cheap alcohol. T-shirt day entitles you to a free t-shirt and a much lower entry fee. Decent restrooms for a busy bar. Cons: Way too loud for a bar(even bars and clubs in Los Angeles, Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei are less noisy with a much, much, much x 3 more entertaining atmosphere). Foul smell emanating from the kitchen, which makes me glad I didn’t order food. I’m sure undergrads would enjoy the sheer number of people here, but older, better-traveled customers might want to look elsewhere. You get what you pay for and that definitely applies to Kilroy’s.

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. as a student at IU, KOK is a staple in the IU community which i have been going to since i turned 21. However, their treatment of customers is absolutely ridiculous. Tonight my friend was served a drink with glass in it, we immediately informed a bartender about this, who was so incompetent she didn’t even offer my friend water or any assistance what so ever. After asking to speak to a manager, it took a good 15 minutes for anybody to talk to us. When the manager finally did show up she aggressively asked for our ids with out any sympathy towards the situation, merely stating that she needed our info incase we decided to sue kilroys. she didnt offer us any refund and was very condescending when we asked to be refunded for the drink with GLASS in it. Overall an awful experience. Totally appalled with how this was handle and how completely disrespectful management was, and how incompetent MULTIPLE bartenders were. If you want a watery drink with pieces of glass in it and shit service this is the place to be. Major thumbs down.

Summertime is the best time for service and a good time. I especially prefer the service provided by the back deck and the very front counter by the spin wheel. Their selection of Long Islands are impressive and they even applaud your new, creative ideas for Long Island flavors. Having a front and outside patio is really superb, but if you are not able to get a table, there are plenty inside with the breeze flowing through the open windows.

I guess the management didn’t like my review so they complained to Unilocal about and Unilocal took it down… Well here’s another one… Just look at the overall rating for this place. Terrible terrible terrible. Place is greasy, smelly, and terribly managed since you have bouncers who start fights with clients. Every staff member I have come across is rude and disgruntled and treats clients like cattle. They aggressively snap money from hands. I assume because they feel it’s fine to do so since the management probably instructs them to deal with customers in these ways or doesn’t train them well or care about customer satisfaction. The only people who give this place more than one star are people who only give good reviews for EVERYPLACETHEYGO… Or friends of the business… Again just look at all the one star ratings and the the main theme that emerges from the comments is about staff being rude and aggressive. Why would anyone give their money to these @#@#!

Where do I begin? I came down for little 500 and decided to take my mom out to lunch. I’ve always bragged about the Kilroys in INDY so I thought why not give this one a shot? BIGMISTAKE. Where do I begin? 1. The service was horrible, it took forever for a server. Come to find out there were only two servers for a packed lunch crowd. Seriously? 2. I ordered a Kilroys staple, their stuffed breadsticks. Always amazing downtown. Well the ones I got were over cooked, tasted old and dry. And the ranch that’s usually house made? Nope I got a sour version of some hidden valley. 3. The employees were less than desirable, I even watched a kid dump a buss tub full of water right inside the front door right behind our table? Like seriously? This place needs some help, I understand it’s a college bar but come on. Maybe the managing partner from Kilroys Indy needs to come down and invest in this location.

This place is pretty much for the college crowd and by college crowd I mean anyone with a fake I.D. or enough money to get the bouncer to look the other way. I can’t tell you how many underage people I’ve seen in here or heard about getting in. If an std opened a bar it would be Kilroy’s. Then there’s the people, between the d-bag frat bros looking for their next date rape and the dick staff(namely the guy with the awkward armpit hair and sleeveless shirt) I don’t know which is worse. Also, I’ve seen better food in a gas station bathroom. They’re a bar and grill? Who the hell would eat the food here? The place smells of moldy cheese. That’s not an insult by the way but just a fact that everytime I’ve been in there the smell alone was enough to drive me away.

I paid $ 10 to play music on the jukebox here and they skipped over half of my songs as soon as they started to play. I went and asked the bartender why and he was EXTREMELY rude and tried to tell me there was no one handling the songs. I didn’t pay to have my money thrown down the drain and then talked down to. First time in bloomington, and this bar already put a bad taste in my mouth.
