We absolutely loved the tap when it started serving food two summers ago and would come in often for dinner and drinks. As its popularity has increased, certain things have declined to the point where we will stick with feisty feta spread and beers from now on. When I’m there I feel like the reading deserves two stars, but time has made me more forgiving. Let me start by saying none of the issues are ever with the service. The staff seems to get less and less clothed with each season, which is a little odd for Bloomington, but they have kept up with exploding popularity better than I would have ever imagined. In sum, they’re great. The food has gone from a dinner staple to a pretty big let down. The garden pizza used to be great strips of hand tossed pizza covered in an assortment of vegetables just like the menu promises. Our last pizza had about three onion pieces and a scattering of mushrooms boo. I get it with no olive oil because I hate soggy pizza, and the last five pizzas I have gotten from there were WET in the middle. Not soggy, uncooked to the point of wetness where cheese slides off under the decayed dough. They rush the pizzas out and if you ask them to cook it well done, they somehow burn the top and keep the bottom soggy. Last time we told the server it was soggy to which she replied«oh that sucks, especially for pizza.» Yes. Why have I tried it five times then, you ask? Try finding vegetarian food after 10:30 in Bloomington on a week night. The second observation is that the fryer grease needs changing more often. Sometimes the fries and naan chips taste like funnel cake, and that’s the issue. I can live with it though for the feta dip. Recently fries have started coming out cold too, but that’s only been in the past month and the servers rush to fix it. They’re great! In sum, the appetizers are still fine but don’t plan on this as date night dinner out.

Definitely one of my go-to locations when I want to grab a beverage. Their selection on draft is pretty expansive, and will help accommodate everyone’s taste buds or moods. I like that they do change it up based on the season, not just with their beers but their menu also has new monthly specials. Prices are pretty reasonable for a place that is definitely a level up from your«college bar», and their food is also pretty on par as well. Something about their pizza just keeps me coming back as well, I think it’s because it’s cooked fresh and has a really light and thin crust. Their burgers are also good, and they have a creative selection that rotates as well. Just a heads up that their seating is «seat yourself», so you may want to make sure that if you have a big group during prime meal hours you get there a little early to call dibs on a table. They also do trivia on various weekdays(I think on Tuesdays for sure), which is always a fun time.

They have a good beer selection with reasonable prices but the venue is very load. I ordered a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich and what came out was pre-made Sysco pulled pork(read meat mush) mixed with relish and BBQ sauce. If so little effort goes in to something like this why do they even bother putting it on the menu?

Beer + either tuna or shrimp tacos = great experience I love their trivia nights, as their beers and fish/seafood tacos. The burgers could improve a bit, but maybe it was just a rough day… let’s see!

Went to The Tap for the first time last Wednesday for their trivia night and had a fantastic time. The selection, atmosphere, and staff were outstanding. And the beer prices were reasonable. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or not, The Tap is one of the best newer bars in Bloomington. Highly recommended.

I gotta hand it to this place. Their craft beers are awesome and the food is very food. It was packed when we went. I went for the sampler and all the beers were good(that never happens, right?) The red pepper hummus was downright tasty and the accompanying pita chips and Naan were great. The best thing? The Ghost Pepper and chili sauce Flatbread pizza. Nice, nice heat and big flavor. Wow, I could have mowed down that entire thing. Cool vibe. It does get a little loud in there when a band plays. Nice mix of college kids and locals.

Hip, quick, great moderately-priced beer selection, light eats. Easy to get a table during daylight hours on a weekday, but the place is hopping after hours, especially on Wednesday evening trivia nights.

I went here on a Saturday as soon as they opened, and was surprised that the inside was set up great. This place has amazing food. Love the fire cracker shrimp and beer cheese burger! The beer selection is like nothing else I’ve seen also. Will definitely be going back soon.

This was my first time at the tap since they started serving food and I wasn’t disappointed! I tried their ahi tuna tacos, which were delicious. Amazing sauce. My beer, one of the IPAs, was also delicious. The service was prompt and friendly and this was the perfect place to meet up with old friends!

Great food options including pizza, burgers, tacos, and more! Recommendation of their pretzels and fried pickles for appetizers! Both amazing! Their black bean burger and seasoned fries are worth going back for! Plethora of beer for all tastes and lively atmosphere! Can’t wait to go back when they have live music! This place does get really crowded and loud but definitely worth the wait!

I enjoy going to the Tap every now and then, they have a great beer selection and an awesome atmosphere. Plus, I’ve heard their food is great! I haven’t branched out much since I have been visiting, but I’ve gotten hooked on the Bluebeard. It’s this amazingly crisp, blueberry beer. Normally when blueberries are in season, they will plop a few in the beer! It is a bit sour but it is so different to any beer I’ve ever had that I can’t help myself whenever I stop in The Tap! I highly recommend it. The Tap brews many of its own beers in house and has lots of different varieties to choose from so you really can’t go wrong! One extra pro-tip, on Tuesdays and Wednesday’s they have trivia so if you want a table I suggest getting There by 6:30ish! That applies to the weekend as well, it’s a pretty popular Bloomington location!

Poor poor place to work and after working in the kitchen for one day i would never eat from here ever again. Mgrs don’t work they just scream out runner then talk about hooking up and getting drugs and women after work. Complete disgusting! Food is dropped on the floor and put back onto plates. Huge red flag for people stay away from this disgusting place!

I have hit the Tap twice in the last 6 weeks. Nice selection of beer. Fun to be able to take home a growler if you find something you’d like to drink more of over the weekend. I have enjoyed their food. It will not become regular for me because I despise high bistro seating and there is little other option. I find it uncomfortable, but that is just me, you get to have your own take. I also dine out for company and conversation. There is no view here which does not include a TV. Within these limits though I like Tap. Staff are always pleasant. I love it that the path through the side of the back dining room has a barrier so you could get to the toilet even if there is a big game crowd. If you like a good beer with TV and a large open space makes you feel expansive, get on over.

I used to come here occasionally, mostly because of the beer selection. The last time I was there(with a table of about 5 other people), we were treated so rudely by our waitress that she actually gave us no choice but to leave before being served. 6+ months later, I obviously haven’t rushed to my computer to hotheadedly write a scathing review. But my last visit was this past summer, I haven’t been back, and I have no plans to go back.

This is my favorite restaurant in Bloomington! We ate here last night and got the tap fries as an appetizer(highly recommend) and I got the shrimp tacos as my meal(very good if you like a spicy kick). I would also recommend the cheeseburger… best in town.

When(if) I die and I have a choice I want to come here. Beer nervana. Everything on tap and more in bottles. This is it. Look no further. Had a carnivore pizza that was beyond awesome. Service was wonderful. Lots of TVs around with sports. Carly was an excellent server /bartender. She was attentive and very well informed about everything they had. Truly awesome. I will come here every day for the rest of my life and then for the rest of eternity.

We stumbled upon this gem after a basketball game, and I’m so glad we did! If you get a chance order the pulled pork sandwich or the chicken tacos! If you get fries, order double of the solo because it is phenomenal!!! Also, ask to be seated in Carly’s section… she’s so sweet and super knowledgable when it comes to the beer menu!

I am very impressed with this place! I do not remember this on my previous trips down to Bloomington. The setup is awesome with the band stage on top of the bar. A huge selection of taps(hence the name) and great food. I must say, the fries here are awesome. Cooked perfectly and seasoned amazingly. I tried a bite of my friend’s burger and it was also very good. On this trip, I came here simply for drinks since I ate before we came here, but next time I will make sure I try the food!

I’m giving this place five stars because the food is always on point and so is the beer. The Tap brews their own beers and also hosts other ranging though lacking Porters. I’m actually here to talk about the food. My haystack burger was prime and so heavy I had to take it home! Guacomole, bacon, ½ burger patty on a toasted brioche bun with tap fries and a delicious spicy mayo sauce on the side. Drool nation. We also had the fried green beans. Yes, order those too. The pork kettle chips I had on instance before and finished those in five minutes. Definitely do those. Tap fries are a classic here. My boyfriend had the shrimp tacos and they were on fire. This is one of my go-to’s in Bloomington. Come here if you’re trying to avoid the college crowd. Only the big kids come here.
