We got there at 11:30 and got seated right away. Within ½ hour the place was full. I ordered the pesto flatbread it was very good. I also ordered the clam chowder it was OK. My wife had the salmon which was cooked perfectly and was very good. Service was outstanding. We were glad we found this restaurant.

My FAVORITE restaurant in Bloomington. LOVE the beet salad with goat cheese. Peppercorn dressing and a twist of baguette makes it PERFECT.(I sometimes CRAVE it when I’m away.) YUM! The rest of their menu is great too. Service is usually good.

Lennie’s is the hot spot all the locals go for a intimate meal. Today I went for brunch and sipped on mimosas while eating a fried fish wrap. The other two I came with got mushroom chicken tortellini and chicken & waffles. We love coming to Lennie’s because you get a lot of food for the money and it is all great comfort food. It is also a plus that the all the waiters are very personable & efficient. Lennie’s is also known for their Bloomington Brewing Company beer so make sure you try a few samples when you go, you might even find yourself taking home a growler.

The food was below average and the price was high. They did have a separate gluten free menu, but the options were lacking.

Just moved to B-town so checking out all the restaurants. Lennie’s is one that we will definitely keep in the rotation. Efficient server, although she was not all that friendly. She told us the specials and it was obvious she was very busy, we were satisfied with the service. I had the stromboli and it was top notch. My partner had the chili and the wedge salad and she was very happy with her meal. Portions are sizable and the wait was not very long considering it was lunch hour and the place was full. The location(just on the fringe of campus) and the tiny parking lot might keep us from returning until the students are on Spring break, but Lennie’s is a winner.

The food was ok. Very small restaurant. Not to impressed. The wait staff needs a little work, however very nice staff.

Here’s my beef with Bloomington restaurants: they don’t have to depend on a steady stream of return customers to stay in business because there are so many new people coming and going through the city each new semester. Restaurants can get away with serving sub-par food at ridiculous prices. Lennie’s is a diamond in the rough! Never have I ever had a bad meal at Lennie’s– I can’t say that about a single other restaurant in Bloomington. I wish more restaurants were like Lennie’s :)

Good place for bloomington. A lot of locals go and rave about the pizza. Being from the east coast it was sublime. We also go the shrimp and crab dip which wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t order again. The quesadillas weren’t great– funky cheese. Good French onion soup. Pesto garlic penne was ok. The chicken wings were the best. Would definitely go back for the wings and soup, and the brownie Sunday was bomb. Creativity: 6⁄10 Quality: 7.5÷10 Atmosphere: 9⁄10(locals brought a lot of character) –A&R

A weird order, but a great experience. My girlfriend and I bought a flight of ales and a few mini-indulgence desserts. Both were great and worth the price. Their salads are also huge and delicious. I recommend for sure.

I could write a whole review on nothing other than how amazing the Roasted Vegetable appetizer is. I don’t know what witchcraft they use to make those veggies so amazing, but oh my gosh. The pizza here, the eggplant parmesan, the breakfast strombolis… all amazing and so completely delicious. I have never been disappointed by anything on their menu. The beer. The BEER. I’ve developed a love for cream ales in the last two years and their Kirkwood Cream Ale knocks if out of the park. As with everything else here, each of their beers exceed expectations. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and mellow but the space is tight. Really, the only downfall of Lennie’s is the seating. The majority of the seating does not lend itself to even the tiniest feeling of privacy.

I really like this place B-town!!! If you are visiting IU or for some reason in Bloomington you will not be disappointment. The staff was chill and the food was good. What else can you ask for? ONETHING! You should definitely make a reservation! It gets busy! Lennie’s is attached to and works together with a bar next to it. It almost seems like two different places but it’s not! I love it. I got the chicken cordon blue Stromboli. It was huge! And delicious. So, so I can stop being repetitive. Just try it :)

I went there for the highly recommended BLT. But it’s a lunch special and I got there late. So I changed to order a BTM to go. It’s delicious, judging from my Chinese taste. The turkey is a little too salty, but come on – turkey is salty in every restaurant here. It can’t order in half like BLT, and is just too much for me. I tried hard to finish half of it. Also I ordered chips going with it while fries are what I really wanted. Pleasant service. I’ll have the BLT next time. Oh by the way, I think I might make a mistake! I forgot tipping! Do people tipping when they have food taking out? I think I should make up for the waitress next time.

I discovered this wonderful invention called a calzone at the food court at my dining hall in Indiana, and I’ve been searching for the perfect one ever since. They’re like pizzas in a hot pocket except more like a sandwich, but way juicier?!? I’ve been here twice, and while my friends loved the pizzas, I knew I had to try to calzones. I thought they were a fantastic value for their price, and I wasn’t able to finish it in one sitting(I accidentally forgot 1⁄3 of mine the second time I went :/) My friend told me that Lennie’s is usually filled with non-Midwest kids and locals, but I didn’t feel like the vibe was much different than the other Bloomington restaurants. The cheese and meat plate here was hardly inspiring though, and I’d imagine you can get something of similar quality over at Kroger’s. Still, think of the calzones! Lennie’s is an inexpensive, convenient place to go for a casual meetup, and service has always been good on both visits. So far, its my favorite place to go for calzones. Meats: 0⁄5 Cheeses: 0⁄5 Calzones: 2⁄5 Service: 2⁄5 Diversity: 1⁄5 Price: $$/$$$$ Satisfaction:Price– 3⁄5 +1 because I love calzones

Kind of like a family-owned, local Applebee’s. Good food and nice portions. But what makes it not an Applebee’s is that the people are down-to-earth and welcome you like family.

Small place, close to campus, great food. That about sums it up… but I’ll keep doing. This place is right beside a subway… soo all the poor college kids go there and all the professionals and teachers go here. This place has a good selection of food and I’d assume beer as well, but I was working. I had the turkey bacon sandwich. The bread was amazing, light and fluffy. The meat was good and bacon just right. It had a chipotle mayo on it that gave it just the right amount of bite with the melted cheese. I got chips as my side. nothing special just regular potato chips. Good service with a good overall atmosphere.

Today I revisited Lennie’s for the first time in five years, when I lived in Bloomington and went regularly. Sure, the interior of Lennie’s probably hasn’t changed much since it opened 20 years ago, but that adds to the charm. The house salad with house dressing — a mix of vinaigrette with blue cheese crumbles — is unlike any salad I’ve had elsewhere, and I’ve honestly though about it on the regular for a half decade. The sandwiches are great, particularly the turkey and red chile chicken. And I love, love, love the strombolis. Lennie’s is a lunchtime treat and for my money, one of my favorite restaurants just about anywhere.

Lennie’s — Bloomington, Indiana … 4 stars: If you have someone at Indiana University, you’ll eventually be touring through the Bloomington restaurants… here is a good one. Lennie’s is primarily a pizza joint on 10th Street, just across the street from campus. If you are up for gourmet pizza or some of the other Italian entries, this is a good stop. Lennie’s is also home to the Bloomington Brewing Company and their line of craft beers. Lennie’s itself is the brewpub arm of the brewing company, and they are right next to each other. Originally founded by IU graduates, they continue to serve students and their parents with brunch/lunch/dinner all year round. Lennie’s restaurant is split into two rooms… a dining room on one side for sit down eating and where all ages can be seated, and a pub/bar side where you have to be 21 to enter. Food is available on both sides. This is a popular place and gets crowded quickly on big campus days — like Freshman Weekend, Parents Weekend, all football games, etc. Good for families and even kids can find something they like on the menu. The food here is pretty standard American fare, but the pizzas do stand out. We had the Love Supreme which is basically a garbage pizza — pepperoni and sausage and stuff. The real shining spot though is The Original Sin dessert — a double scoop of ice cream on top of a very tender brownie with out-of-this-world hot fudge. The pizza and stuff are very nice… but don’t miss the over-the-top Original Sin dessert. Situated in a little strip mall, you can sometimes find parking right out front… but parking can be hard to find because of the closeness to campus. Still this one is definitely worth the visit. You are within walking distance of many of the IU dorms and a main IU parking lot.
