Nice patio and great specials. I’d also say some of the best wings in town. Your typical bar, they have typically good service and good drinks. Outside of the wings, the food isn’t anything more than bar food. Good for what it is, but don’t go with huge expectations.

I come here for lunch, it’s nice, the service is very good and the $ 4 lunch is a great deal.

Used to have the best wings. They suck now. Not sure what happened. Great place though and super nice people. Just bummed about the wings. I’ve been getting them for years. Still a great bar.

Grilled chicken sandwich is delicious ! Beer prices are easy on the wallet. The service was good at the bar. This joint has a lot of regulars and great food! This townie joint is fantastic ! No frills décor of local colleges and a pin ball machine!

This used to be my go-to in Bloomington/Normal. As in 2 – 3 times per week. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. The last 4 times we’ve been here, including today, the service has been terrible. Every time, our order has been wrong. We order volcanic extra crispy Ans say the words NOT saucy and every time they come out saucy. Wrong order is not such a big deal. It happens. I understand. The problem is that when I tell the waitress that the order is wrong, they insist that isn’t the case. Let me say hat I’ve probably ordered this same order at least 100 times. I know what it is and what it is supposed to be. I also recognize when it’s not correct. Apparently the waitresses are not that easily convinced threat they’ve brought out an incorrect order. That’s a problem. When they get the order right, these are the best wings in town. Not even close. However, the service these days leaves too much to be desired so we’ll move on to other options. I recommend you do the same.

Seriously disappointed in this experience! Wings were burnt with no sauce. Service was awful. Watched our waitress lean against a wall doing nothing when we had empty drinks. What happened to this place? Bar Rescue?! I think so!

I used to love this place and their food. On my last visit I was offended so much by both a creepy old guy patron and my own server that I will never go back. As usual the wings were great and everything else was mediocre. As we were getting ready to leave I left my wife and her girlfriend at the table while I went to to use the restroom. Apparently one of their regulars decided to take my seat at the table even though the ladies objected. The server noticed all this and said nothing. When I returned from the restroom I had to run the guy off to the bar. While I was busy telling him that it isn’t OK for him to creep on young women the server told me «it’s alright. He does that to lots of girls. We just let it slide.» I’ll never give them another one of my dollars. This scumbag regular has apparently got the right to harass young female customers. I knew Mugsys was a town bar, but this is ridiculous.

The beer was cheap and cold, but the cheese mugger and fries was the worst burger/fries combination I have ever had. I have had better«Bubba» burgers. The cheese stick appetizer was definitely too small and not even cooked all the way. I won’t be going back for anything but beer in the future.

Went here almost every Tuesday for four years. If not for the wings, then for the late-night company and escape form mundanity of college life at Wesleyan. Can’t beat the Tuesday wing special, those wings are massive! I’d fill up on three! Favorite flavors are Chipotle and Volcanic, although sometimes Volcanic can get bland after the second or third. Recommend grabbing a pitcher with friends on the patio.

I’m pretty sure they put some sort of addictive drugs in their wings, because I can’t stop coming back here. There’s something about the crispy skin beneath the saucy wings that is unlike other wings in town. It’s a completely different place from what you’re used to, if what you’re used to is BWW. Mugsy’s wings taste much more like actual chicken. Their burgers are also decent, but it’s the wings that will surprisingly make you return. Try the volcanic if you don’t mind spicy, or the lemon pepper if you’re down for a surprise(they’re really great!). The atmosphere is that of your basic divey bar/pub on the inside, but they do have an outdoor patio that I like to sit on when I come and eat in. They have beer on tap with specials– including a nice stout if you’re like me and like craft beer. The stout goes well with any of their wings.

This place has the best food and great service. I recommend this pub very highly. Mugsy’s pub has been in business for over twenty years. I give this pub five stars.

After frequenting Mugsy’s on the reg for a school year I can say with certainty that I wish I had spent more time here. The wings may be overrated, and the quality of the burgers is inconsistent, but this is an extremely affordable place to wet your whistle(1 dollar drafts on Wednesdays and Thursdays) and is a great time with friends with a cool divey ambiance that is reflective of both the college and townie cultures of Bloomington-Normal.

I like the atmosphere of the bar. But that’s about it. The food was over priced for what it was. Ordered onion rings for $ 5 and we got 4 or 5 on a small plate. The bleu burger I got was not very good. Just a burger with cheap Bleu cheese dressing on it. Our waitress was horrible. She was never around and they were not busy at all.

Cheap, hot pub food and cold domestic drinks. It’s exactly what it says on the tin, folks. Best wings in town and y’know what? Budweiser at $ 4 a pitcher(certain nights only) is pretty great. Mugsy’s is my go-to when I’m hanging with my friends and that dreaded question comes up: «So where do you want to eat?» It’s not fancy, it’s not«a wacky new take on an old(ethnic) favorite;» it’s burgers, wings, sandwiches, fried appetizers, salads – it’s 85% of what chain restaurants do without shenanigans or flair. Maybe I should go to TGIF again before I beat them up for a third food review. I’ve always remembered them as «Eh.» I digress. Last time I went, I had a hot ham & cheese sandwich and a pitcher of Bud. I was surprised when the sandwich came on marbled rye bread, but other than that it was nothing but satisfied expectations: hot food hot, cold beer cold, and happily enough I walked out of the place at around $ 9 before tip. Next time I’m there I’ll try out their line of draft beers. There’s quite a few there; I spotted Woodchuck, Sam Adams, and I think even Lagunitas IPA. For the longest time, this place only had Miller Lite and Budweiser. Anyway, if it’s normal American/bar faire you’re after, definitely give Mugsy’s a shot. It’s unpretentious, and always pleasant.

SO good. Just…REALLY good. I’ve only been in once, but my office orders delivery a lot, and it is always hot and delicious. Also, their ranch is THEBEST. I don’t know what kind of addictive substance they put in it, but it is AMAZING. It’s thicker and tangier than normal ranch. I love their cheese fries, and their salads are always so crisp and fresh. My boyfriend swears that their wings are the best he’s ever had.

It had been such a long time since I spent any time at this place that it had honestly fallen off my radar. Time to put it back on as they have added a dozen or so craft beers and another dozen or so large plasma TVs, still have some of the best wings in town along with a stable of quality pub fare, and have some enticing food and drink specials thoughout the week. Not sure what nights are dart league, but there is no shortage of boards, as well as an electronic gaming section along the back wall. We’ve been looking for a place to host our fantasy football league Christmas party and this place looks like it will definitely fit the bill with the Sunday NFL package, a table reserved for us, good beer selection and an investment in some wings for our large party. I hear some of their staff recently split away and opened Doc Mckays on the east side, but the split seems to have reinvigorated the old spot. Its still dominated by domestic drinking regulars, but now offer lots more for the casual visitor too! With a solid 3 ½ stars, count us among them going forward!

A very pleasant surprise! Ever pull-up to a place and think… I don’t know if thiamin going to be a good idea… thatbis exactly what I thought when I pulled up. But I was HANGRY!!! Once inside I found a very friendly and beer knowledgeable staff. 49 cent wings, plenty of TVs, good beer, fair whiskey. All and all a great value for the dollar. But please note this is NOT a white tablecloth place it is gritty and earthy.

I had Mugsy’s for the first time this weekend after at least a 10-year interlude. I ate there all the time when I went to IWU, but pretty much stopped after graduation. It was raining last night, and there was football on. My wife and I didn’t want to leave the house, because of all that and because our kids weren’t behaving all that well. The problem was, we didn’t want Chinese, pizza, or pasta — which makes up basically every delivery place. So I brought up Mugsy’s. She laughed it off at first, but 5 minutes later it was still the best option, so we dove in and gave it a shot. We didn’t have their famous wings, but I gotta tell you — I was really impressed with their double cheesemuggers. The fries didn’t hold up quite as well from the delivery experience(still edible, just mushy), but the burger was simply great. My wife loved hers, too, and my kids enjoyed their grilled cheeses.(Man, was I surprised to learn Mugsy’s had a kids’ menu. Who knew?) So anyway, yeah. Mugsy’s. It’s good, and they will bring a cheeseburger to your door.

The wings are awesome. The rest, meh. So I got the wings, mild, and my fiancé got a bufallo chicken sandwich. Her’s was meh(plain and the bun was pretty dry, the fries weren’t good at all), but mine was incredible. I loved the wings. The place is a bar. Definitely don’t come here if you are trying to be romantic or have a beautiful time somewhere. That being said, they’re pretty good at what they do, which is wings.

The ambiance is not that great. The patio is little better. BUT they have the best wings in town. I specially like there Garlic Parmesan ones. The drinks are not very costly. Good place for awesome wings and drinks on a tight money day !
