CLOSED; however, a new place called Southern Comfort is at that spot with much improved food and service.

Now called Southern Comforts. Great daily specials. Friday lunch is Fried Oysters; a generous portion. Breakfasts look good but holindaise on eggs Benedict didn’t taste quite right. NEONBNC

This place is now closed. To be replaced by the Mountain house of Boone. The food here was always good but the place was in great need of remodeling

Get the chili. It is by far the best thing they got. There will be a long line for bk from time to time but it is worth the wait. I would drive 500 miles from Atlanta just for the chili if I have to. Or to snowboard. Or both

Small cozy and absolutely delicious! Staff was friendly and informative. I had the Spanish omelette with bacon, my 7 year old wanted seconds on her sausage patty and French toast. It’s not much to look at but it was a fantastic find!

While visiting the area for a christmas tree we stopped in for lunch. Its a nice family run spot with obvious regulars. The menu is full of good standards and the service was fine. Our group had a selection of burgers, grilled chicken and meatloaf and all was good.

Excellent spot for lunch — best Reuben sandwich in the mountains. Atmosphere is «old time laid back mountain». Service is great with those wonderful smiles. Portions are a good value. We will be back!!!

Best place in Blowing Rock for breakfast. Sometimes crowded but worth the wait.

Definite workermans breakfast. This is the go-to breakfast place in Blowing Rock if you aren’t looking for a pastry and coffee. This place is your quintessential«Nawguhhyde» type place. Breakfast and lunch only.

Must have changed owners… Read my reviews I’m not a mean reviewer but these people are pretty lazy and pretty much suck. First of all… They no longer serve dinner even though in size 90000 font it says DINNER! Remove the sign you lazy asses if you close at 3pm. Secondly, i called at 2pm to see when they served lunch until. The lady said 3pm. Awesome! Rushed across town and got there at approx 2:30… Closed! Are you kidding me? The lady inside said they closed early because they were so slow. The fact that they are so dead to where they close early is probably an indication that this place is going down hill. The fact that they no longer serve dinner is probably the second red flag. Don’t tell customers that you are open until 3 when you decide to close early because your food is just that terrible people stop returning. Oh and their parking lot is shot to hell with potholes everywhere so they can’t afford to maintain that, nice. I hope they take better care of their kitchen than they do maintaining the outside.

Sorry, I had to give 2 stars. When I escape to the south, my expectation are very high, specially for all types of foods. Family owned places should give me the most flavor I have ever experienced in my entire life. This weekend I was disappointed with Knights on Main 1– Had the 3 Eggs and Bacon, the normal breakfast platter, nothing special there but was good. Bacon was crispy and fresh. Eggs, over easy to my liking. 2– Corned Beef Hash was OK, little bit too oily for my taste. 3. Tried a biscuit and that was bland 4. Country ham was very salty If this local favorite is great for great breakfast, then I must have missed the greatness, because I left there not wanting to come back again. Service– there was plenty of people to serve you, but sometimes that’s not all that matters to some people.

Good breakfast, not the best! Coffee was OK, nothing great. I ordered the country ham and cheese omelet. The omelet was good, although the country ham was very salty. The omelet came with Knight’s potatoes and a biscuit, as sides. The potatoes were fine, but the biscuit was pretty bland. On a side note, my boyfriend ordered the corned beef hash and it was pretty good.

I think this may be the only place for a full breakfast in town… if not, it’s the most popular! We had about a half hour wait, but they did a great job getting people in and out. I remember one hostess on the microphone was quite funny. They have your typical assortment of breakfast from eggs to pancakes. All was very good and brought out quickly and warm. It’s a typical diner atmosphere with decent prices and good service. The lot is small on busy mornings, so I suggest you find something on the street or walk.

Got there around 8:15 today and was able to walk right on in. Sure it’s not high season, but shortly afterwards the place was packed by 8:30. I had the pancakes which look like they served 4 but in reality it was 2 giant super fluffy n moist pancakes. The corned beef hash is delicious too but a bit salty.

Great place to get breakfast, although it has no egg beaters or egg whites or turkey sausage if one is trying to eat healthy. The waiters and nice, but there were two old ladies who ran the place who were completely unfriendly. They’re lucky their chefs make amazing omelets!!!

Nothin’ special to look at, but the food was really food. Just country cookin’, nothin’ fancy, but good. I had the pulled pork plate, collard greens and lots of the corn muffins with lots of butter. It didn’t just hit the spot, it knocked it the eff out! Quick service with a smile and a worn-in booth. When I visit the area, I go here.
