When in, sat down at the bar, they had pizza by the slice, they said yes, and I never saw anybody ever again. Oddly, when I finally got bored and got up to leave, the person at the front smiled and said thanks have a nice day.
The pizza smells fantastic, so it might really be good, I just didn’t get a chance to eat any.

We had a great lunch here. I had a toasted Italian Sub on crispy light French bread. We also had a Greek salad that was big enough for two although we got the smaller one. Nice homemade dressing. We also got a small veggie pizza. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was the pizza sauce was a little bland for my taste. Great service, cool décor. We’ll come back, I want to try the mushroom soup.

The food is consistent and the service is fairly eager, but I took off stars after a really bad experience with the hosts. On a recent Sat evening we were told there was a 30 – 40 min wait and we were given a pager. We were finally seated 2+ hours later. In between we checked in a few times and each time were told «just a few tables ahead of you». I understand a wait on Sat night, just wish they were honest. I suspect they fudge the waiting time so people don’t go to other restaurants.

They accommodated our large group on a fairly buSaturday and made sure we had drinks while we waited on our delicious food to arrive. Wonder vegetarian options and the salads are pretty good for a pizza joint.

Good pizza place but kinda overpriced. I only go occasionally because it costs a decent amount but when I do I enjoy it! I’m glad they have lots of options other than just pizza

This location was great! This spot was walking distance from our hotel and we just stopped by to grab something quick to eat about 30 minutes before closing. The pizza was amazing and the staff was beyond exceptional. The lady at the front register went out of her way to help us. The décor on the inside was also super cute which is always a plus.

Great pizza. Wonderful selection of beers. Good service. When in Blowing Rock we always visit.

I eat here sometimes once a week and the food is amazing, the staff is wonderful, and it’s always a great experience whether I order takeout or dine in. Highly recommend this Mellow!

Love this place! Grew up in the south and moved north about 10 years ago. Hit this place at least twice each time I come back to NC. Pretzels are awesome and love making my own special pizzas. Great bear list.

Good pizza and beer selections. Staff on New Years days was pleasant and attentive for such a busy day as there was no snow so many people were in town shopping. Very pricy for signature pizza, $ 25. 4 adults, 4 kids, 2 signature pizzas, 1 personal pizza, 1 order pretzels, 6 sodas, 1 (12) beer flight, 2 draft beers and tip … $ 145.00 (ouch).

Another excellent pizza and beer experience at the Boone Mellow Mushroom. We had the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer and large house special (hold the olives add jalapeños). Had plenty to take home afterwards. Service was great as well. I highly recommend this place if your looking for a casual meal.

Honestly, we try to stick to local places rather than chains, but after a long day shopping, we really just wanted to pick up some pizza, so mellow mushroom it was! We had a very large order and they were extremely busy, but I appreciated the guy on the phone letting me know it was going to be a long wait. While it did take a while, we came when they said the order would be ready, and ready it was! The hostess was super nice, and all of our pizzas were so so delicious! Hit the spot. Great job, MM!

Good food, not great. Seems like the menu is too creative, weird topping combinations on the menu. It’s definitely different if you’re looking for a change. LARGE MENU!!!

Always a chill place with good food and great beer selections. Several vegetarian options and even some vegan choices. Enjoyed a local, seasonal pumpkin beer with our pizza. Will definitely be back next time we are in town!

We ordered two pizzas for takeout. We got one of the mostly meat pizzas and one of the mostly vegetarian. We asked if they offered a thin crust and they said everything was hand tossed, but they would ask for it to be made thin for us. We thought the pizza was very expensive when we reviewed the menu, but decided to give it a try anyway. Once we ate the pizza, it was easy to understand why Mellow Mushroom is a little more expensive than most. They had listened to our request for a thinner crust and it was excellent. The toppings on both were quality and plentiful. They also automatically included packets of parmesan cheese with our to go order. It was a very busy weekend and there were lines of people waiting for tables when we arrived to pick up our order, but it was ready at the promised time and waiting for us. We will definitely go back.

Really good experience while visiting NC with family/​friends. We visited during a peak time but still had good service. Beer was spot on and pizza was excellent. Overall we had a great experience. Service was also very good considering the capacity of people.

I ate here last night with a large party after the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show. Despite calling ahead we had a bit of a wait, so I parked it at the bat and ordered one of the specials, a Bacon Apple Boon Shine. It was smooth and sweet, like adult apple juice, it is made with shine and apple juice, the glass rimmed with cinnamon and nutmeg, and garnished with a strip of candied bacon.
After we finally got seated, our table ordered the bruschetta and pretzel appetizers. I tried the cinnamon sugar pretzel drizzled with honey, and part of the Parmesan pretzel. They were warm and soft, but the cinnamon sugar pretzel could have used either a dipping sauce or a little more flavor.
My group ordered the standard house pizza. Nice handtossed crust, fresh ingredients, and plenty of toppings. Two slices filled me up.
The service wasn’t the most attentive but like I said we did have a large party. My water cup ran dry several times, but the food was accurate and tasty.
I’d go back again, but maybe at a quieter time.

There is something about these pricey pizzas that is addictive. My personal favorite is the Philosopher’s Pie but I’ve never had one that hasn’t tasted premium.
Mellow Mushroom is always consistent, a little pricey but super delicious. On a recent trip a friend’s pizza did not get fired with the rest of our party and the manager comped his meal, as he should of of course, but still something that doesn’t always happen.
I recommend the meatballs app, it is just three meatballs and I didn’t even order it. But it smelled and looked good enough that I was jealous of all the diners around me that did.
