I stopped by here with 7 other adults and 4 small children. We got that just before lunch, so there wasn’t a crowd. Joe was extremely nice. After he seated us and talked with us a bit, we wrote down our orders and took them to the counter. My food beat me back to my seat. The food was great and the people were extremely nice. This will be a stop for us every time we visit Blue Ridge.

Hands down THE best BBQ I have ever tried! I don’t give out 5 stars just for sh! ts and giggles. Joe’s BBQ truly earns any and every accolade given to them. I often travel for my job and have tried BBQ just about everywhere. Oklahoma Joe’s in KC was my favorite until Joe’s BBQ came into my life. We had the 2 sampler platters which gave us a generous portion of chicken, pulled pork, 2 ribs and 2 sides per platter. Those ribs!!! OMG, those ribs! Seasoned to perfection, served dry and with just the right amount of smoke to accentuate the spice rub. Wet them up with sauce at the table(my favorite was the spicy sauce — my wife preferred mom’s sauce) or eat them dry it don’t matter. Pulled chicken was an unexpected but pleasant surprise especially with Joe’s white Alabama sauce. We tried 4 sides. We had the Mac n cheese, coleslaw, potato salad n cinnamon apples. My favorites where the potato salad(great compliment to the ribs) and the cinnamon apples(sweet but not too sweet) was the cherry on top! It was definitely worth the excursion out to Blue Ridge, GA!

What a gem!!! Great bbq and good atmosphere! Excellent service, the owner, Joe greets you at the porch. Food is plentiful and prices are reasonable. A little off Main Street so you get a break from the beat of constant people and has decent parking.

So I couldn’t imagine going to the mountains in the middle of Georgia and NOT having some home cooked barbecue! There are a couple of other places on that little strip, but this one caught my eye with its outdoor seating. Joe, who was seating everyone and running around like a mad man, really did a great job of accommodating all the guests, seating them quickly and getting our food out in no time at all. I ordered the pulled pork platter with mac and cheese and cole slaw. ALLWEREDELICIOUS! My parents ordered a slice of key lime pie, which I had to try, and it was , I can’t believe how good it was, considering we’re Floridians! I also tried each of the BBQ sauces and the horseradish aioli, and I really enjoyed the mild mixed with the aioli. I tried my luck at the deathly spicy sauce, and it was a little too hot for me but gave a nice kick to the pork :) Telling everyone who makes their way up to Blue Ridge about this place :)

This is a must try! Joes BBQ is amazing. This was our first trip to Blue Ridge and we decided to check Joes out based on reviews we saw online. Let me tell you something– they are not lying. We went there on a Sunday afternoon after the lunch rush. Joe greeted us at the door. Very nice guy. There are only 7 tables inside and we waited about 15 minutes(totally worth it). I had the pulled pork potato and Brunswick stew. Nice large portion. My boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwich plate with baked beans and cinnamon apples. Cooked to perfection. Try the mild sauce as this is the best one. Please note they cook their food daily and sometimes may run out of food. I got the last potato lol

It’s a shame my pre-Joe’s experience was flogged by «The Country’s Best BBQ» tagline attached to it. No matter any undertaking in life, it’s better not to have the bar set so high, because rarely will the experience exceed it. We were greeted promptly by Joe, himself, at the door. Joe’s a character, serious about his business, and runs a military-like, tight ship. After ordering at the counter, we were seated and waited only about five minutes for our food. For me, I stuck with the Rib Platter, Mac n’ cheese and coleslaw. The ribs were meaty and tender, with the dinosaur meat falling clean off the bone. The accompaniment of sauces on the table elevated the ribs to a juicy nirvana. Side items were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Before I forget, a soft roll is served with all meals. After white water rafting, I couldn’t think of a more perfect meal than hearty BBQ. Joe’s provided us with a really great, rich in flavor meal. If I’m ever in the area again, I’d be happy to try out the remainder of their menu items. The pulled pork looked succulent, too. Hey Joe, I’m a big fan!

3.5 stars. There are only 7 tables inside and about 3 tables outside, with the bar outside. This may not have been worth the double wait(we walked around after hearing the eta was 30 – 40 minutes only to come back finding our spots were called and given away due to our absence). My favorite is the mac and cheese. I was doubtful that it would be anything but mediocre at best since they were the only bbq place in the area with no competition). It was creamy and comforting. The baked beans were a bit sweet, just as I like it(maybe would’ve have liked it more with bacon!). The ribs were tender and fell off the bone easily. It was full of fat, thereby making it juicy. Loaded baked potato was generous with protein. I got the pulled chicken. I drenched it with the spicy sauce(favoring it over mom’s, hot, and mild sauces). The sauces were not«spicy» as they were flavorful. Potato was baked to a medium softness, with much sour cream, chives, and some chunks of bacon. I got an Arnold Palmer with lemonade and UNSWEETENED tea. This sweetness was perfect for me since I don’t prefer sweet things. If I ever come back I’d probably get the ribs, mac and cheese, and baked beans.

my, my, my… this place deserves all five of the stars. On the way back from hiking at the Amicalola Falls state park(a must see by the way) my wife and I had worked up a fierce appetite. We were thinking some BBQ would hit the spot so we looked on Unilocal and realized there are more BBQ joints in Blue Ridge than you would believe, as if pulled pork is as easy as reheating nuggets at Mac D’s. So with all the competition we needed BBQ that was convenient but also tasty. Joe’s was that place. We were actually greeted by Joe on the way in(real nice guy by the way), they have a smaller dining room which was full so he said it would just be a few mins handed us a few menus then went to secure us a spot. About 5 mins later we had a small table then went to the counter to order. The menu is pretty simple, BBQ and a variety of sides. I got the pulled pork plate with the Mac and Stew(also came with a small roll). It came out super quick and was delicious. They also had several different sauces to choose from. You really cannot go wrong with Joe’s! We’ll be back next time through the Blue Ridge area.(Tip: open Thu-Sun only)
