We knew we had mold behind the walls in our basement after several weather-​related floods, and we put off getting it taken care of because we feared the cost. Finally, we bucked up and did the research. First thing we realized was a lot of companies claimed they remediated mold, but a lot of them didn’t do it thoroughly. So when we met Eric Eckert of Advanta Clean and listened to him describe all the steps he took and all the equipment involved, we knew we had found a good company. He did an amazingly thorough job!
Eric and his workers spent about 2 days meticulously removing the moldy materials (sheetrock, paneling and even some of the studs), killing the mold and sealing the concrete blocks. We learned so much and have subsequently heard horror stories from friends of what happens when this isn’t done correctly. Advanta Clean also cleaned out our vents, and you wouldn’t believe what came out of them. This also takes special equipment. Shop and research carefully before you have this type of work done, folks. We did, and we are so very glad it was done right. You can spend a lot of money and still have mold — it can be a serious health hazard. Our advice is to hire Advanta Clean.
