We stopped for lunch and it was a disappointment. We have eaten at the HHI location before and it was okay. The meals(lunch) were too expensive and the portions were small. Lunch shouldn’t be so much trouble.

Good food + sustainable minded business = five stars for this guy. I had the fish tacos, and the wife had the chicken ricotta. Both good, but her’s was WOW! I don’t eat talapia, but the talapia they use at Chow Daddy’s is sustainabley sourced, fed an organic diet, and is raised in deep reservoir free water. You could tell a difference in the texture of the fish. Simple well thought out presentation(sliced avocado, arugula, peppadew/sriracha sauce. Yummy. The Chicken Ricotta on Brioche bun was AMAZING. They smoke everything in house in Big Green Eggs. The chicken was perfectly moist and smokey. It was mixed with Ricotta, and placed on the bun with an onion jam and some peppery arugula. I could have eaten it for dinner as well. The cheddar jalapeño cornbread was stellar too. Two thumbs up. Local/Organic when possible. Give it a try!!!

Best shrimp and fish tacos ever. Dessert is an ice cream sandwich which is okay. Service was good as well.

I was so excited ordered a chicken dish and got food poisoning. I know what that is, I’m a nurse. I called the manager just as a heads up so they about cross contamination if needed. I was basically told by the manager that I was full of bull. No apology, etc. Leary to go back

I have been here several times and every time the food has been just so yummy. I recommend the veggie bowl, the pulled chicken bowl, the fried chicken with pimiento cheese, the grilled fish tacos.. . literally everything I have had there is great. I like the atmosphere too. Moving from Charleston and being spoiled by all of the great and creative restaurants there, I am really happy to have found Chow Daddy’s because it is definitely on par with the restaurants there. The service has been GREAT every time too. Each person who has served us has been very friendly and attentive. One night recently we had salmon that was not fully cooked and the server(may have been manager or owner?) was so nice about it and took it off our bill without us even asking. Another thing that I love is that they have a nice variety of healthy options as well as not so healthy – there is something for everyone! So, go to Chow Daddy’s :)

My husband works near here and had heard nothing but wonderful things. First the décor is great– rustic mixed with metals… the lights were really interesting to check out while waiting on our food. Service was attentive and friendly– Katie was our server and she was amazing but every other worker we encountered was friendly too! The menu is limited but if you watch any food network program about restaurants, they always say to do a limited menu and do it well and this place did just that… The food was fantastic! I had the steak tacos– you only get 2, but they were the biggest tacos I’ve ever seen! They were loaded with steak, and avocado, and onions and other tasty fillings. The steak was tender and juicy and cooked really well and they add a Sriracha based sauce that is so good(I recommend ordering some extra sauce!) my husband got the pulled chicken bbq. It was served on cornbread and it was DELICIOUS! I am not a bbq fan(sorry native Southerners– I know that’s blasphemy!) but it was really really good! Overall– a great experience and we will definitely be back. If you are in the area, you should really stop in!

Went here just to try it… to see what the hype was…& it was pretty good! We went during slow hours around 2ish so we sat at the bar. We had amazing service. Super laid back kind of atmosphere. We order a watermelon mint martini that I did NOT like. It wasn’t the drink… it was me. The flavors didn’t go. Everything was so fresh tho but I just wasn’t feeling it. The bartender was sooooooo nice! He I immediately made me a fresh made to order sangria. We then ordered the steak tacos to share. They were packed with flavor! We will definitely be back to explore more!

Great food, attentive server. Eat in or on patio. We had pulled pork on jalapeño cornbread, sweet potato fries, and traditional pulled pork sandwich. Everything was hot, tasty, and fresh. My pork was tender, cornbread was sweet with a tiny bit of heat, topped with slaw, barbecue sauce. The fries were just the right amount of crispy outside with soft inside. Excellent location.

I saw the menu and was excited to try this place. My impression is… Meh… The service was good. Prompt and friendly I got the pimento cheese appetizer. Came with«bread and butter» pickles and potato chips. The pickles were ok, but seem to have just come out of a jar they bought at the grocery store. The potato chips were below average. The worst part is that the chips don’t pick up the pimento cheese. The cheese is a cold scoop of cheese that is too hard to be used as a dip for a potato chip. I got a smoked/fried chicken bowl. Pretty good. A little pricey for a single piece of chicken on some mashed potatoes. No sides. Small enough that it was it was served in a soup-sized bowl. Interesting that they both smoked the chicken and then fried it. Could definitely taste the smoke. But, it was a tad too much cooking for a boneless chicken breast. Was kind of dry. Maybe my expectations were too high. Wasn’t bad, but I left thinking that I never need to go back.

Excellent ambiance, and really good food and service. We got the blackened fish tacos which were jam packed with flavor, kale and Brussels sprout salad which was good and the southern pulled pork bun. Super tasty all around. Would definitely go back as it was very reasonably priced for such great food.

Burger was over cooked and the smoked chicken was overpowering. The atmosphere is nice. But the burger is not worth the price, has good flavor but the carmelized onions not being placed under the melted cheese make it hard to eat. I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

Not on the menu anymore, but they’re happy to make it upon request — MUSHROOM TACOs! Sooooo delish! Highly recommended. Roasted baby ‘bellas with spices, peppadew sauce, avacado, arugula, etc. I also get the full size Kale and Quinoa Salad — it can’t be beat!

So glad we came in. We split the chicken, kale and quionoa salad. It was very good! Also tried the Brussels sprouts… Tasty, but they seemed not as fresh as we would have expected. Almost like these were reheated from the night before. We were among the first customers at 11 am Sunday. But still, they were delicious. We also enjoyed the Gluten Free beer. The menu needs some work. We almost didn’t order anything because nothing jumped out and even sounded good. We liked the bar area. Looks like a good place to hang out.

This place was great! We were looking for something wasn’t too touristy with overpriced, fried food. This place fit the bill perfectly! Myself, my wife and my parents all enjoyed what they ordered. I thought the pulled pork, served open face was really delicious and the fish tacos were awesome! The ingredients were fresh, they didn’t mask any of their food in deep fried non-sense and be sure to save room for an ice cream cookie sandwich for desert.

Hubs and I were at the Inn at Palmetto Bluffs for 4th of July weekend. After we discovered that the only casual restaurant at the resort was serving exclusively Italian food for dinner on the 4th(criminal!!!) we went Unilocal searching for a casual restaurant in the area. We found Chow Daddy’s and saw that its HHI location had a long list of stellar reviews, so we decided to check it out. Calling to confirm they were open and calling back to make a reservation was a challenge — I don’t know if the person who answered was hard of hearing or if the restaurant was loud, but they couldn’t hear anything I said so the conversations were quite frustrating. But we figured it out eventually. The ambiance is awesome. Exposed wood, funky lights, etc. Definitely a great vibe here. There was supposed to be live music, but apparently it was cancelled due to earlier inclement weather, which was a real bummer. Service was very good — our server was nice, friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were awesome. My watermelon martini was delicious and my husband enjoyed his moscow mule. We shared the wild mushroom toast as an appetizer, which was delicious. For entrees, we shared the fried chicken bowl and the Southern pulled pork bowl(served on top of corn bread). The fried chicken stole the show — perfectly cooked, just the right amount of spice, and served with a complementary apple fennel slaw. Our server did screw up our order a bit, but it wasn’t a big deal. Finished the meal with an ice cream sandwich to share, which they kindly cut in half. It was supposed to be vanilla ice cream with chocolate chip cookies but ended up being vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cookies. Good thing we love peanut butter and don’t have an allergy!!! Overall, the food was really tasty. The service was good, but they are definitely still learning the ropes and working out some kinks. I would highly recommend giving this place a shot.

I believe this place has opened just recently so that might explain the inexperienced waitstaff. The waiter we had definitely needs some training. Right now he’s qualified for a fast food joint. This is the reason for the 3 stars only since the food was pretty good. I had the blackened tilapia on rice which I asked to be lightly blackened and it came out perfectly blackened. The rice was nicely seasoned and a compliment to the fish. Two of our party ordered the arugula salad with shrimp and they said it was very good. I was surprised at how large the shrimp were. My sister ordered the radish appetizer which was whole radishes marinated in olive oil and lime. I wouldn’t suggest those.

We are so happy that Chow Daddy’s have opened a second restaurant in Bluffton! They have only been open a week, but the service was great and the food wonderful. Atmosphere casual, friendly staff that had it together in the short time they have been open. I had a salmon bowl, hubby a spicy shrimp bowl and both were very good. Same menu as their Island location. If we frequent the restaurant however, I think some specials would help us stay interested.

This was really pleasantly surprising. Every time I go to a brand new restaurant, you know it’s brand new. It doesn’t flow, people are still trying to figure out what they are supposed to do. With all that, I still like to try them. This one was fantastic. Everyone knew what they were supposed to do and supported each other. Very polished and genuine. The food was fantastic to. The menu is very different from other restaurants around. I did not know it was missing till I went. I’m still shocked. At 2pm the place was still half full. We love truffles and knowing this is a sister restaurant made us feel like we could try it but what they have done will keep us coming back.
