I would highly recommend The Bluffton Room! My experience here was by far one of the best. We ordered the Caesar salad(which they prepare from scratch table-side), scallops, the baby(which is the filet), bananas flambé, and wine of course. The Caesar salad was delicious and a very generous portion with a bit of a nice peppery kick. The scallops were perfectly cooked with great flavor. The filet was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the flavor was amazing. It also came with onion potatoes and vegetables that were just as great. For dessert we ordered the bananas flambé, also prepared table-side, which came with vanilla bean ice cream. The presentation and taste were amazing! The portion sizes were just right and filling. Prices were average for a fine dining restaurant. We dined at the bar and had excellent service. Before arriving we called ahead to make a reservation as they are usually very busy, we were told that they only had a very late opening so we opted to go and try to find seats at the bar. Upon arrival the bar was full, but the hostess at the door offered to take our phone number and text us when seats became available at the bar. We went across the street for a drink and about 15 min later received a text informing us seats were ready — amazing service! I will definitely be back at The Bluffton Room soon!

I hate brussel sprouts but the roasted version served here were the best I’ve ever had. Every one of the sides we ordered was delicious. The Dover Sole was superb as was the edamame humus. Anyone who has truly dined at a high end restaurant in New York or Chicago knows that portion size is not the critical factor but preparation, presentation and combination of flavors are what your paying for. The Bluffton Room is up there with the best. Rating a fine dining restaurant on portion size means you are going to fill your stomach and have forgotten the meaning of fine dining.

Having been there previously we were disappointed this time. I must say we ate at the bar previously and ate in the dining room this time. The bar was a better experience. Having the choice between both the bar and the dining room menu is huge. The dining room menu is very limited and pricey. Neither of which is a big problem if the experience is a good one. Both the food and the service were great. But if we are going to pay top dollar for a meal… we do not want to go home hungry. We both were, unfortunately, after our meal. As locals, we have so many good restaurants to choose from. If we decide to give the Bluffton Room another try… it will be at the bar — where we previously had a wonderful evening.

The Bluffton Room is pretty average. The food was good, not great, yet they have priced their menu as though the food will be outstanding. We knew they were pricy. However, we are willing to pay for excellent food. We didn’t feel like we got our money’s worth here. The service was good.

Meh. I really wanted to love this place; it had all the makings of a wonderful dining experience, but overall I was very let down. First, the price: too high; I feel like everything on the menu is 10−15% higher than reasonable, and compared to other area restaurants(Red Fish, Siglers). I have no problem spending money on good food; I’m not phased by $ 75-$ 100 per person if the meal is memorable. But our meal just didn’t stand up to the cost. Also, as others have said, it is VERYLOUD and hard to hear those at your table. And while the open air bar is neat, the restaurant temperature increased to an uncomfortable level once it was opened. Regarding the food, we were underwhelmed by every dish we ordered. The She Crab soup was SALTY. Seafood soups typically are, but this was borderline inedible; SALTYSALTYSALTY! And at $ 10 a cup, I had high expectations. All three of us had the soup and all agreed it was not good. The Dover Sole portion size was very meager; I know it’s a rare fish, etc, but the price compared to serving size was unacceptable. Also, the lemon butter sauce was overwhelming. My husband said he would never order it again; this entrée was the most disappointing. The Halibut was average at best; portion size was small, fish was under seasoned and dry and the daily preparation had butter beans, which were a brownish gray color, and looked horrible. I regretted my order as soon as they set it in front of me. I ate it, but wished I had ordered something else. For $ 39, I expected a lot. Very disappointing. Dessert was ok for a crème brûlée but again, very small and too expensive. Nothing memorable. Overall, we spent $ 245, including tip, on dinner for 3; we only had one drink. We all left still a bit hungry and wishing we had the dinner to do over. I *might* go back to try a steak, but probably not. Too many flaws for a restaurant with the highest prices in town.

We are locals and have eaten here a few times. Has been great every time. Came by tonight to eat and they are apparently taking reservations for the bar now. Was greeted by a kind of snooty girl and told the bar seats were reserved. We left and went to Red Fish. Questionable if we will go back anytime soon.

We started with a Ceasar salad done at table that we sent back and was insulted by the chief when we said it didn’t taste good at all. The steak was ok but for the price we expected it to be awesome. Very disappointing dinner. Would not recommend at all.

Food was top notch. Just moved to the area from Chicago, and we have been on the hunt for excellent food. One thing we have noticed around here is all the«great» restaurants have menus longer than the Lord of The Rings trilogy. In my experience, the shorter the menu, the better the food. The wait staff are prime they were able to memorize every special down to the smallest detail, and most of all they are happy, and want to be there(or at least they were able to really sell it). We started with«Duck Duck Goose) which was duck confit, a goose jam, and duck cracklins, with toast points. It was incredible, had to ask for my toast points to make sure we didn’t miss anything. Next, we had the«She Crab Soup», again, it was excellent, the soup didn’t separate, which is always a great sign. My first drink was their«May River Manhattan», it wasn’t overly strong, and very easy to drink… maybe too easy. Before we knew it, it was time for the entrée, their timing with their courses was fantastic, all too often you go to places who are bringing your entrée, you are still eating your salad or soup, and that appetizer you ordered is getting cold off to the side of the table, another great sign of a great restaurant. For the entrée, I ordered the«Bone in Filet», rare(because that is the only respectable way to eat a prime steak), when asked about a side, all I asked for was an Old Fashioned, which again was great, and sign of a real barkeep. My wife had«The Baby» it was their 6oz filet, served medium rare(we’re working on it). Both steaks arrived perfectly cooked, and again, perfect timing, and most importantly tasted phenomenal, you can tell the chef has respect for the meat because it was not overly seasoned, just a basic salt and pepper, but cooked to perfection, and allowed the proper time to rest. The atmosphere was intoxicating(well, so were the drinks) but it all contributed to a great dining experience. It was a great night and opportunity to eat like kings and queens, it was on the expensive side, but too be expected and well worth it. We will without a doubt, be back to sit at the indoor/outdoor bar and order a burger(which looked delicious) for a more casual experience… So far there is no other restaurant I want to go back to as soon as possible… They could stand toe to toe with any comparative restaurant in Chicago, and hold their own, and we are lucky to have them in little old Bluffton.

I was happy to stumble across this upscale and modern restaurant in Bluffton. We typically visit Bluffton/Hilton Head once or twice a year, so it’s nice to find restaurants that are not meshed in with the tourist spots. The bar and outdoor seating seem fun — we had a party of seven, with tweens, and were accommodated nicely indoors. There is a nice selection of apps and entrees, which made it difficult to choose. Our table ordered the oysters, grilled artichoke, tuna sashimi, beef carpaccio, caesar salad(with anchovies) and kale salad. All were good — no complaints. I felt the caesar and the grilled artichoke were missing«something.» For entrees, the kids ordered the lobster mac-n-cheese(it was ok), white on white chicken, and we had several orders of the bone-in filet & bone-in ribeyes. Unfortunately, we are extremely picky about our steaks, and I generally order the bone-in because it is juicier and has more marbling than other cuts. These were very lean cuts of ribeye. The bone-in filet didn’t get any complaints. The garlic mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts were delicious but the highlight of my meal was the bananas foster — hands down. It is very sweet so be prepared or ask your server to cut back on the brown sugar. It usually ends up under the melted ice cream, anyway. Would definitely go back & eat a burger at the bar. Another bonus — a good wine selection. Mike provided excellent service & we were well taken care of.

The ambience is second to none. It is simply a most beautiful space to be in. Blake and Bob behind the bar are the bomb! And the kale salad??? I never would have believed that kale could taste so good. I don’t know what they do to it, but it’s amazing. I have actually several special trips to The Bluffton Room just to get that salad. Unequivocal Five Stars!!!

Just tried this place, only open one week. Fantastic! I had bone in ribeye and my wife had lobster mac. It was amazing. Our waiter Jay was great. He made it an even better time. We started with tuna app and finished with bananas foster(a must). It comes off as a local Ruth Chris but it was more relaxed. It was just a great experience. Will definitely go back. Many times
