Quaker Steak & Lube

I’ve never had quaker steak and lube before so I thought I’d give this place a try. NEVER AGAIN. Sat in the resurant for 15 minutes and was never once approached by a waitress. Then a couple people came in after I had already been sitting there 15 minutes and a waitress immediately came to their table so I left. I talked to the manager and they weren’t very helpful either so I doubt I will ever be going here again. Next time I feel like trying this food I’ll just go to Pittsburgh and hope its not as terrible.

This location is absolutely horrible. Decided to give them a try instead of driving to Austintown. Tried three times, once dining in, once for the ayce buffet, and once for carry out. Each experience was worse than th previous. Dry wings, poor service, and rude employees. Do yourself a favor and drive to the Austintown location.

The bar tender is terrible. Been here a few times on Sunday for football and the bartender is so busy talking to her friend that she doesn’t care about the customers there at all. Wings and fries are good. Burger was not very good. Not cooked the way my girlfriend wanted it. At least a lot of games are available to watch. Closed caption on some.

Based on prior mediocre experience with this location we had not been here for quite some time. However, hoping to satisfy a desire for some wings before watching football, but avoiding the usual slow sit down service on a Sat. night, we opted to go the take out route at Quaker State. Regretfully this decision only further reduced our opinion of this location and finally motivated me to write a deserving review.
A salad they can make but their signature chicken wings they can manage to screw up. The wings were over cooked and somewhat dried out. Compounding an already bad situation they then dusted all the wings with Chipotle powder which was in no way something that should have been associated with our order. Then to top it off they did not include «any» BBQ sauce. How can one screw up a basic straight forward order or your Original BBQ sauce wings??? Clearly this place has problems. Any association of this place with top quality BBQ wings is purely in an historical context by name. Better wings can be had from any number of other local restaurants and bars.

Went to Quaker Steak 10:00pm. Got seated and waitress starts yelling at hostess. «Ummmm we want to get out of here!!! Why are you seating people??!» Wow!!! Won’t go back there again! I own a business and was appalled at the waitress being so nasty. We USED to go their quite often. Last time there!

Wings wings wings! Love the LA Lickers and the burgers are great too. This place can get very very busy on wing night and some times the quality falls, on those nights. It’s a western Pa favorite for many!

I’ve been here a couple times, and thought the food is good but I feel that for the money you’re paying for a lot of novelty of them being a semi local company and to pay for the cars that hang from the ceiling. The sauces are okay, but I’ve had much better at mom and pop wing places. My girlfriend and I went out to dinner here and spent close to $ 70.00 and left feeling extremely underwhelmed, the wings weren’t overly large and as I mentioned, the sauces didn’t make me jump out of my seat. We now go to Buffalo Wild Wings, right up the street and get the exact same meal with better sauces for half the price.

With a gift card in hand visited the new QSL in boardman for a late aftn lunch. Only had about a half hour, so went to the bar. Didn’t get much attention, was in my construction clothes so «unappealing» got ignored by bar server twice, while her mgr and fellow bar maid continued to chat with an obvious HEAVY HITTER also sitting there. So, 3 Pair of eyes — 10 min & no service, finally get service, only cus another guest sat next to me. Running tight on time order a soda and to go order of hot garlic wings. Now they don’t specifically have that sauce, no sweat a small fee is required, okay — IT’S MY BIRTHDAY, i GOTTA GIFT CARD
They take awhile, longer than they should, well maybe even more longer than they should — seems they’ve sat in a window getting cold. No apologies, or even a who cares… order being paid for I’m going back to work. Back at work –have my first greasy, cold, semi cooked, rubber skinned, s crony wing, it taste, it taste like pancake syrup. They served me the wrong order TOO! We decided to stop here at this location on our way back from visiting family for Turkey day. It was a toss up between this place and the original location, but since this was the closest off the highway for us we went here.
The place wasn’t busy and we were seated right away. I liked the atmosphere of the place with all the décor geared towards the sports theme. A nice variety of wing flavors to choose from and the shrimp app we got was served to us in an «egg» carton which was neat. All the food was good and I would return.
I was really disappointment with the layout of this location though. We sat in a high top booth near the restrooms. If you are just visiting this place for the first time you wouldn’t know that there is an entire other section with a bar around to the left. Basically, the layout doesn’t allow you see and know everything about the place.

A friend and I went for lunch yesterday at QS&L in Boardman. The buffet table looked awful! It was dirty and the food looked like it was days old. I know the waitress heard us talking about it but did nothing to clean up the spilled food running down the table cloth. We each had the $ 5 lunch and the hamburger and chips were awful. This place has really gone down hill. The one in Sharon Pa is not much better. Years ago it use to be the place to go. What happened? I will not be going back. Also the Prices are also way to high for the food and drinks.

A long time ago there was a cluster of restaurants in Sharon Pa, period. This chain is a poor excuse for what «used» to be. Poor service, bad wait-​staff, and bad attitudes, along with average wings at premium prices makes this a good chain to avoid. I have tried the Austintown, and North Canton locations, and this seems to be endemic throughout.

We went here for the first time this afternoon for lunch. We waited for a LONG time to even have some one notice we were waiting to be seated. We started wondering if we were supposed to just sit down anywhere. Finally we were seated and the same thing trying to get someone to take our order. We sat there and all 5 of us (including 3 small children) decided what we wanted to eat and drink before a waitress even came up to our table. It was just really strange b/​c there were only about 5 or 6 other tables full in the whole place. Then my husband wanted to order a beer so he asked the price difference of the smaller one and the larger one and she had no idea. We knew someone at another table and as they were leaving they stopped by to say hello. We were talking about how bad the service was (when we knew our waitress and a few others could hear us) so from then on out we were treated really well (convenient how that works). Our food came out pretty quickly (I’m sure the waitress told them to hurry it up) and was really good (try the chips instead of fries! they are homemade and really good!). The only other thing I feel like I should mention is the kids mac & cheese. It was the size of one of those single applesauce cups. My daughter got the apple sauce as her side and we held them up and were almost exactly the same size. Usually when you order mac & cheese you get a big bowl of it. Now, my son is only 3 so it was ok for him but if my 5 or 7 yr old daughters had recieved that, it would have been laughable. In fact, it WAS laughable. I mean REALLY? for $ 6 they get 3 spoonfulls of food? Also, drinks are EXTRA, not included in the kids meals. Keep that in mind. Now when our bill came they only charged us $ 4 for the kids meals. IDK if it was b/​c it was lunch or if they just knew we weren’t all that happy. Either way, the food was REALLY good and I am hoping that the service issues were just today and not a normal thing. I would be willing to give them a second shot but I would probably just have the kids split an adult meal for a couple bucks more.

Meh! Word on the street was this was the best place for some wings. I would have to disagree. They got nothing on Wing Stop in California. I am so sad. I love me some wings. Won’t be back!
