Food is delectable no matter what you order. Wings are out of this world. Chicken fettuccine was a pleasure to consume along with the steak salad. Stuffed pepper was tasty yet the actual pepper seemed elusively thin. Beer selection is slim, lots of Coors/Miller/Bud, but just good enough that they had some tasty Fathead brews. Great bar service as usual.

I decided on the Blue Wolf Tavern on a Saturday night at 6:30pm. Top Choice quality American fare, well executed… with an emphasis on service. What a gem we have here in Youngstown! May become my new. ‘go to place’. I usually will not choose a «bar» with good food over a restaurant, with a bar… get it. Back in the day… for me, this was a great bar! The atmosphere is relaxed, not at all pretentious. Less than ten minutes … I was seated, in the bar area… Not normally acceptable seating for me, but I was comfortable. My server was Chaz… he was on point that night! He is a true professional and is well trained. There are so many offerings including, but NOT limited to Signature, Heart Healthy and Gluten Free dishes… just ask. Don’t see something on the menu that fits your needs… Just ask. I felt as if my needs were truly met that night. It seemed to me they were glad I was there and were happy to serve me… genuinely. Get the vibe … There were many specials offered that nite… (if in doubt, order the special). I ordered off the menu, the filet, It’s true, I got wowed. The quality and flavor of the steak was amazing. No need for a «house blend» season cover up… just salt/pepper. wow. The side dishes,(I ordered most of them), were unique and D’lish. I ordered a carry out, just to see how well they executed take home… Great job with quality and carry out containers. … the desserts??? FAGETABOUTIT! (My toes are curling at the mere thought) pics included. =) Rick, the front of the house, guy checked in… making sure my dinner met all expectations… It did, and then some.

I thought this place was freakin awesome!!! I had the shrimp alouette as an appetizer… I liked it so much I had to get the chicken alouette as my course. It was amazing!!! The drinks were amazing too, I got a mojito, which was great. I can’t wait to go back!

The food is okay, but my favorite here are baby beer shots. A mix of liquor 43 and cream as a shot. Djs entertain on weekend nights. They also cater.

Good food, great bar. Sunday bar special is Bloody Mary’s. A bit pricey, but everything I’ve had has been tasty.

My husband and I visited the Blue Wolf on a rainy Good Friday night. There was a bit of a wait for a table but no where near as long as the 30 – 45 minutes the hostess quoted when we came in. Because it was Good Friday they had a long list of fish dishes on special so I tried the Lobster crusted trout while my husband had the Sea bass Oscar. Both were quite good but the«risotto» that we ordered as a side was disappointing as it was really just a seasoned rice reminiscent of what would come out of a rice-a-roni box. We also had the Greens as an appetizer — we are spoiled by living in Central NY where«East Utica Greens» are a local delicacy. The greens here were good but we probably would not get them again just because they are not what we expect when we get greens. The Blue Wolf is definitely pricey by local standards but I will definitely be back as some of the other entrees looked very good as well.

Great bar tenders & awesome place to dance after 10p. Huge menu however very poor appetizer choices unless you want deep fried food. Waitresses very slow & not accurate when taking orders. 3 times been here &3 times the order was missing an item. Ice Tea pitchers sitting around uncovered for flies & asking for someone to tamper with — I thought there was a station for drinks? This place needs to modify it’s menu to accommodate bar crowd with nachos, cheese plates, flat bread pizzas etc.

Went last Thursday with another couple for a christmas dinner. Everything was great. Very attentive waitress, no feeling of being rushed. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars, the Ahi tuna was cooked a bit too much. It was still very good !

Poor service, long wait, servers and staff had really bad attitudes… not a properly managed restaurant… Too many other alternatives available in the Boardman area than to have this sort of experience… Would not go again if it was free…

Delicious food! EVERYTHING tasted outstanding from the hot rolls and butter to the ribs, chicken parm, and boardwalk fries. Little pricey, with not much variety(no sandwiches), but highly recommend.

Excellent cocktail options including lots of alcoholic coffee drinks which are right up my alley. Professional, friendly service for our group of 8. Yummy appetizers, tasty entrees and seriously intense desserts. Vegan options include the bruschetta and zuchhinni parm without the cheese. I got the tomato basil cream sauce linguini without meat and gobbled it up. Went for the small which did the job with the side salad, but toats could have crammed down a large too.

Gluten Free friendly. They will go out of their way to assist with special diet choices. Their food is consistant in portion sizes and flavors. Have not had anything I didn’t like. We visit regularly. Sometimes hard to get a seat… but hey! It’s good food!

I have never had a bad meal here. The Blue Wolf Burger is outstanding and always cooked to perfection. The Zucchini Parmesan is excellent. The Pizza is very good, as well. My only complaint, and it’s not even about the food, is the fact that when I have called for takeout, I have been put on hold and no one has ever come back to the phone to take my order. This has happened about 3 times over the last six months. So, I’m knocking one star off for that.

I think it’s fair to say that Youngstown isn’t a destination location for food. Especially if you’re a vegetarian.(although the Flaming Ice Cube vegan restaurant is pretty good) But… my boyfriend is from Youngstown so I’ve tried out many of the local haunts and have found The Blue Wolf to be the best. They offer hearty, mid-western comfort food. I normally opt for a mountain of penne pasta slathered in a tomato cream sauce. Hold the meat please. Really, no meatball. Yes, I’m 100% sure I don’t want the meatball, but thanks for asking. Entrees are generally pretty cheap, filling, and come with some sort of side. My boyfriend and his parents typically order off off the specials menu which can have anything from a flatbread to prime rib. They generally seem pleased. When we’ve gone to The Blue Wolf without my boyfriend’s family in tow, we’ve enjoyed some cocktails at the bar. $ 5 martinis? Hells yes. And it seems like no matter what time we’re there, there are drink specials. This is my go to when I’m in Youngstown, and if you’re looking for a hearty meal on the cheap, check this place out.

I have such mixed feelings for this place. I used to work there closer to when it opened but moved on. There was no wait at 6pm on a Friday. I ordered the greens due to Youngstown being the only place I can get them and they were amazing. They weren’t too greasy or too garlicy and the bread they served them with was so fresh, warm and gooey. For dinner I ordered the Broiled Pacific Grouper, broiled grouper«served over tomato basil cream sauce.» It was more like served in a vat of tomato basil cream sauce. Maybe it’s my unfamiliarness with this type of sauce but it was so, so sweet and not what I was expecting. Then, there was just so much of it that it was hard to get the fish out without a ton of the sauce as well. For my side I chose a baked potato, it was a great baked potato. My entrée also came with a side salad which was just a bit of iceberg lettuce and a grape tomato, they put the dressing on the salad for you. So, subpar. If I were to go back it would solely be for a beer and greens at the bar, I could do without the main meal. Their menu seemed to be centered around italian entrees but they did have other options available. My friend got a burger and her only complaint was that the bottom bun was soggy. The service was good and friendly.
