European Corner Cafe

I heard that this restaurant changed hands of ownership, decided to go, and it was fabulous. Service was excellent, great vegetarian dishes, excellent all around. Big difference.

Usually good food. Brunch Sunday morning.

Very poor quality. We were so disappointed.

We ordered food for take out. The pizza and calzone were ok, but we also ordered a piece of tiramisu, which was the most foul dessert I have ever tasted. I was lucky not to get food poisoning from it, but my friend was not as lucky and was sick for two days. When we took it back to get a refund, we got our money back but no apology.

ATMOSPHERE: Traditional seating inside and outside. The shopping center looks new as many stores aren’t even open yet. Nice back patio with a fountain and nice foliage. It’s a little tropical.
FOOD: The menu they present isn’t complete. There are lots more including drinks (smoothies, beer, wine, coffee, etc) and desserts. The complete menu is online though. We ordered:
1. Sampler platter — sauteed eggplant, babaganoush, hummus, tomato stew served with wheat pita bread. All very yummy! Babaganoush had that nice grilled taste.
2. Veggie calzone — ricotta, mozarella, spinach, onion, mushroom, eggplant. Nice combo. Came with side of tomato sauce.
3. Falafel sandwich — came with creamy pasta salad and side salad which was pretty big with field greens and tomatoes (not just plain iceberg — yay). Falafel was flavorful. Wish there was more veggies inside the pita pocket since it was a few tomatoes, cucumber, and tahini sauce.
4. Strawberry shortcake — yummy. I wish the frosting was cream instead of vanilla frosting though since it was too sweet with the frosting.
SERVICE: SUCKS. Seriously. I think the waiter was ignoring us on purpose since he walked by so many times without even looking at us… he didn’t have that many tables! I had to ask someone else for a box and check finally.
PRICES: Used a
gift certificate — spend $ 45 and get $ 25 off. However, it’s only for entrees only. Our waiter was pissy on letting us use it even though we ordered the cost equivalent of 2 entrees. Again, BAD SERVICE. It was an honest mistake… geeez.
PARKING: Plenty in shopping center parking lot.
CONCLUSION: Good food but not good enough to withstand the bad service so 4 stars for food, 1 star for services. Not coming here again.
