5STARS for BURNTOVERCOOKEDFOOD, once again Lucille’s doesn’t fail to disappoint, how can you screw up a burger. Need better management

Had dinner there last weekend… I had BBQ chicken and my friend had the pulled pork platter. We both got very sick that night. Called to let manager know and he had very little care or concern. Makes you wonder what’s happening in the kitchen?

Great rack of rib special on Saturdays. PLENTY to eat. Great food, and great service. We have been to many BBQ restaurants, and this place always puts out a great product. We have had the ribs… my husband liked the fish and chips special all you can eat on Thursdays. Soo much food… did not need anything else. LOVELOVELOVE

I want to like this place. Staff is nice, but food not so great. The ribs tasted old. :/and the fish and chips tasted like fried chicken breading. The French fries was the best out of all the food. :(

I’ve been coming to Lucilles for years. If BBQ is what you want around Boca, this is the place to visit. The ribs are one of the best I’ve had and the pulled pork sandwich is usually the go to for me. Good atmosphere and excellent staff.

We’ve been going here for years. We ate here just a few days ago and had decent meals. I had a full rack of baby back ribs. Meat was good, though it wasn’t quite falling off the bone. It wasn’t spicy, maybe because some patrons don’t like that. The steamed veggies, carrots and broccoli, are quite good. There is a rack on a wall that has some spicy liquids from various brands that one can add. Wife had the tilapia entrée which she enjoyed. A side order of «renegade» chili tasted like a carton of Morton’s salt had been added — if you can taste the salt, way too much has been added. Service was quick and the table was clean. There is an outdoor eating area too if the inside is too cold from the a/c. The ambiance is low-grade, but I didn’t delete points for that.

Overpriced decent BBQ. I came here on a Friday evening with my family around 6:30pm, place was full, but by the time we left it had totally emptied out. The A/C is cranked up very high in here, so wear warm clothing; it’s freezing inside! The Pit Boss Quesadilla was pricy at almost $ 10 for four(4) quesadillas, but probably the best thing I had there. The quality of it was good, but perhaps a bit too much olive in it. The quesadillas had a nice spice, and flavor too them, and I wish it came with more of them then just four. The Chopped Beef Brisket Platter was okay, nothing special, and served over two slices of white bread. Taste was decent, but presentation wise, it looked like it was one step above dog food. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t order this again, as it didn’t taste too fresh, or have much flavor to it. It tasted like something they pre-made and had sitting in a container all day, waiting to be scooped out and served. The Quarter Chicken here is flavorful, but nothing out of the realm of what you’d expect when you get chicken. Almost all of the sides were surprisingly very good. The coleslaw was creamy, and really rich with flavor. Creamed Spinach was really tasty, and had like a cheese crust on top of it. The Country Mashed Potatoes were decent, and at least didn’t taste like they came from sort of powder. The french fries were you standard, frozen then deep fried, came from a bag, nothing special, throw away side. However, it all comes back to the price with Lucille’s. I don’t view BBQ as pricy, but Lucille’s charges a lot for items that should be priced 3 to 4 dollars cheaper then they are here. Over the years a few BBQ places have closed in the Boca area, making Lucille’s one of the last BBQ joints standing. So sadly, options for BBQ aren’t plentiful around here, but this place is fine as long as you aren’t light in the wallet area. Food(C+), Pricing(D-), Atmosphere(B), Service(B-)

That was the worst pulled pork I have ever had in my life. It tasted like it was soaked in sugar. The only BBQ joint in South Florida worth visiting is Dixie Pig on Dixie Highway in Fort Lauderdale. I would rather gargle glass than ever visit this place again. Those from NC(like myself) Texas, KC or TN would be ashamed of this place.

I am visiting family from out of town and I’d heard this was the place to go for BBQ, particularly ribs. Went with two others who got the half rack of ribs for $ 10.99, which came with two sides and a corn muffin. I got the brisket sandwich and baked beans. All were delicious. Service was excellent. My mom’s salad came out very quickly, as did all of our food. So fast, in fact, that she didn’t have enough time with her salad. Also got dessert and the caramel apple pie was enough to share.(Note to self for next time!) I’ll definitely go back again. Recommend it.

I got Delivery Dudes of Central Boca to delivery dinner from here and I wasn’t expecting much from a hamburger that was delivered. I was so pleasantly surprised, it was freaking great! Cooked to absolute perfection medium rare with a beautiful char on the outside. Cole slaw was ok and fries average… the burger was huge, juicy and delicious. My bf got the bbq pulled chicken sandwich which was really good too. Will not hesitate to use the Delivery Dudes service for anything from Lucille’s.

We loved eating at lucilles! We stopped for awhile because I think they changed cooks and the food wasn’t as good as before. Hence why I give them 4 stars But since returning, the food has been back to the way it was before and we continue to eat it happily

Pulled pork sandwich and House BBQ sauce were excellent. Lunch crowd so it was busy but service was acceptable. I thought for the price it was a good value.

Even with some negative reviews I am always open to try a new BBQ place. First off, the complaints about the greasy menus and condiment containers are true. Nasty, sticky menus and sauce bottles made me immediately go to wash my hands. Thank goodness the bathrooms were clean but none of the paper towel dispensers worked. How could at least one employee not notice this and say something to someone? Are they not washing their hands at all? Let’s hope that they just have their own separate bathroom? Service was slow and it wasn’t busy. When we finally got a waitress and got our orders in, she ultimately failed in what I consider the absolute basics in keeping me a happy customer: always make sure I have a beverage and, after I’ve had a chance to taste my food, ask how everything is. That’s all I want from a food server. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable expectation is it? Well, I’m sorry to say, she disappointed me on that most basic level. Had sweet potato«sticks» as an app. Nothing more that what looked like frozen sweet potato fries out of a bag and deep fried. My friend had the Mahi Rueben. Said it had zero thousand island dressing on it at all which I am told is what make a Rueben(I am not a fan so I wouldn’t know). I had a burger off of the specials menu. Now, if you are going to single out food and put it on a «special» menu the I would think it would, by default, be something special? Burger was McDonalds quality at best. They called it the Juicy Lucy. It was greasy, not juicy. Waiting for the check to leave was another time consuming endeavor but apparently the manager and hostess had plenty of time on their hands standing at the front counter looking at cell phone pics? Here’s a suggestion to the manager, spend a little less time with your head buried in a cell phone screen and a little more time looking at your dining room patrons so you can notice them sitting there trying to flag down a waitress to get their bill. Overall not inedible food by any means and maybe their more tradition BBQ offerings are of better quality but judging from this first experience I don’t think we will be risking another try.

What can I say about my favorite BBQ restaurant that I didn’t say in two other reviews on this restaurant which both were not posted. Unilocal thought my reviews were so complimentary about Lucille’s that it was probably written by the restaurant. For the record, I have nothing to do with Lucille’s and NEVER received anything from Lucille’s except great spare ribs and great sides at reasonable prices and good service. I always order either a half rack or full rack of ribs. This comes with two sides. One side you should order is the side salad. It is so «huge» that in many other restaurants it could be consider an entrée. And it is good. One of the best«side» salads I ever had. TRAVELKAL

Went here for lunch we a few coworkers. I figured upon arriving that the place would be packed since it was lunch time, but it was not too crowded and we were able to get seated right away. Staff was attentive and our server came over rather quickly to get our drink order. After waiting a couple minutes for our drinks, our server came back and we put in our lunch orders. I went with the brisket sandwich with a side salad. The side salad came out first and was a pretty nice portion for a side salad. Soon after, my brisket sandwich along with rest of orders came out. Sandwich looked really good and was not covered in sauce like some places. On the table, they have three different sauces that you could choose from and add whatever you wanted to your own sandwich, which was great since I hate getting bbq that is drenched in sauce and not being able to add what you want. All in all, the food was good, staff was nice and we were able to get in and out fairly quickly. I would go back again if I do crave a little bbq while at work, as they do have a nice lunch menu with options for everyone.

I like Lucille’s. They have pretty decent BBQ. The crazy thing is that there are not a lot of BBQ places in the area, so Lucille’s is a treat. It is a typical BBQ place. All the usual menu items: baby back ribs, pulled pork, chicken, beans, cole slaw, fries, corn bread. All very decent. The prices are not bad either. The place is a little cramped. They have jammed a lot of tables into a tiny space. If they are really packed(and they usually are) it can be very difficult getting to the bathroom or in & out of the place. But this place is informal and you just have to work around it. If you want fancy, this is not your place. If you want good, consistent BBQ, this is a winner!!!

I’ve been going to Lucille’s for over two decades now. The relationship we have is like Henry and Karen Hill, and occasionally I’ll stray with my goomah. But like Big Paulie said, «I’m not saying you have to go back there this minute, but you gotta go back.» . So I do and despite my straying looking for some new meat(literally), I always know I can come home to Lucille’s. Based on several of the reviews, you can tell there are some conflicting views about this place. Any restaurant that lasts two decades, especially in a ritzy shopping center like Woodfield, has to mean something though. They use higher grade meats too, not like the chains such as Ale House, Chilli’s, TGIF who only buy the cheap D grade meat from distributors like Cheney Brothers or Sysco. Quality does matter, especially in this location when you are dealing with, well let’s just say a «specific» type of demographic. It’s clean inside, as clean as you would expect a BBQ joint to be. Is it clean enough where you can eat the food you drop on the floor? No, you idiot, why would you do that anyway? It’s clean if not cleaner than any BBQ style restaurant you frequent, that’s for sure. I mean, if we are comparing this to Houstons, I would say sure, you might find some BBQ stains on the menu or the bathroom won’t have fresh urinal cakes, but you got to compare apples to apples here. Bay Bay’s Fried Chicken is a run down crack house, but I would opt to eat fried chicken there over any restaurant in South Florida. Which leads me to another point, this isn’t Uncle Tom and Aunt Mae’s style BBQ. You won’t find Lil’ Peanut mixing up the Kool-Aid and you aren’t gonna get southern style sides. I understand real authentic BBQ is needed, that is why I’ll stray with my boo’s Tom Jenkin’s, Blue«Sweet Dick» Willies or Georgia Pig. I keep my BBQ joints like I do my ho’s, in check. But when I’m in the PBC, I’ll be willing to put Lucille’s up against most places in the area. Dickey’s, Shorty’s, Park Avenue, Mississippi Sweets, Super Dave’s(RIP), Shane’s, you name it. I can’t say that any of them are better than that bad bitch Lucille. If you ask me, Houston’s might have the best ribs in all of Boca but at $ 29 for a slab, sometimes that is rough on the pockets. The ribs here are meaty, not too saucy, perfectly cooked and fall of the bone. The crab wings are outstanding too, but I must say, after 4 you won’t be able to each much more. They’re seasoned with Old Bay and like anything with Old Bay, that flavor get tired after awhile. Plus its can be too salty at times. I would recommend a mixed platter where you get half a slab and 5 wings. That right there is what I call the Brad & Angelina, a perfect combo. Their pulled meats are also very good but I would really like to see this place do something along the lines of fried chicken. I know this isn’t typically known for soul food(peace to Goodie Mob), but a little fried chicken can help bring this all together. It would make a deadly combination, literally. My only gripe would be their ice cream. Now, I sure as hell ain’t eating ice cream here but my 2 year old does. What they served him was a freezer burned brick. It was so hard, I thought I was watching an old Tera Patrick videos. My son picked up the spoon and it was stuck. He lifted the spoon and the ice cream cup was hanging for dear life like Luke Skywalker in the cave before the Wampa attacked him. But Lucille’s has always been good to me. Service is always on point, especially if you have Kevin. He is like Crash Davis of this place. A seasoned vet who is strictly there to help mold the young prospects. A great server who always goes above and beyond with a smile from ear to ear. So what have we learned? Lucille’s isn’t a traditional southern style BBQ restaurant. They don’t smoke their ribs here, like many of the local BBQ places, but it doesn’t change the fact that the ribs are still great. It’s a fun place to eat with friends or family. They have great service, great items and all reasonably priced.
