My husband and I usually eat at the Parkland location or order take out from there. I accidentally ordered from the Boca Raton location and when we picked up the food, what a difference. For starters, over salted Miso soup. I couldn’t even finish it because it was so salty. I ordered cucumber rolls as an appetizer, and they were terrible. They looked like something I could have attempted to make myself. Thick chunks of cucumber instead poorly rolled seawood. The main course was OK, not great. It was also about half the size of the takeout I get a Parkland(and not as well prepared). If Japango is a chain, then they really need to revamp management and the chef here. There’s not excuse for mediocre food.

The tuna tower is to die for. This is an especially great place to go with a group, and do it all family-style.

Tucked all the way in the corner of this large outdoor strip mall, this restaurant did a great job of handling our party of 14 including several children. The food was good too. Most notable was the Pad Thai which both my wife and I agreed was among the really good ones we have had and we have had plenty of Pad Thais. I had the first signature roll although the name escapes me. It was fresh and pretty tasty although I have had better sauces elsewhere.

I used a Groupon for dinner at Japango a few nights ago, and my daughter and I both liked our food. More importantly, we felt fine afterwards since it wasn’t until after the dinner that I saw that they had some ongoing health violations. Yikes. My daughter’s go-to meal is chicken teriyaki, and she has a pretty good baseline for comparison. She liked her chicken teriyaki and finished all of an adult portion, although she skipped the fried rice which she didn’t care for. I had a lobster tempera roll and a spicy tuna roll. I couldn’t finish all of it, but I enjoyed each. The female waitress was the only waitress working, which was ok given that it wasn’t overly busy. The wait time did get a little long at times, but I was more sensitive to it because we were in a rush. They have outdoor tables, but I’ve always sat inside since the tables are close to the parking lot driving lane so it doesn’t add to the ambiance.

It is a cute place in the same plaza as Meatball Room. Don’t sit at the tables where the female Asian waitress serves unless you want to wait a long time to place your order and then wait another long time to have your order travel to the kitchen. I get why the server needs to multitask but it’s not the proper way of multitasking. She takes on so many tasks that she doesn’t even finish one of them. There were customers who were seated after me and got their drinks and meals served to them before I even got mine, It was ridiculous. The food was ok. Flavor is decent if you are into Asian cuisine. The steamed dumplings skins were very thick and heavy. I ordered red curry with vegetables only; the vegetables seemed like they were just tossed into the curry paste because they were cold, raw, and hard as a rock. I had to send it to back only to get it back as microwaved hot. As for drinks, it’s better to get wine or beer here because the hot green tea taste cheap(low quality) and they serve the tea cups in stainless steel… in other words, if you fill up your hot tea to the top, you won’t be able to pick it up because the cup will be super hot and it will burn your hands(unless you have steel hands). The burning could become a real liability issue for the restaurant. Not smart on the owner’s part. Not a cool first time experience. Least to say, the mural on the wall sticks out like a sore thumb. This place is an Asian restaurant but it has nothing except the food and sushi bar that is Asian about it. The mural and decoration should be Asian-esque. I expected more of a business-orientation from a place like this since it is in Boca. Won’t be coming back.

I’ve always wanted to try Japango & was given a coupon for this newly opened one in the regency plaza. I figured I would give it a try & if I liked it, awesome I have a new spot. But on a Saturday evening the restaurant was completely empty and that should’ve been my sign. First off they don’t have a drink menu but they offer wines, beer & select sake. So I asked for the riesling & it was good however there was a piece of something stuck to the glass. Gross. We then ordered the shrimp tempura nugget appetizer which tasted like something from the frozen section at your local grocery store & put that aside to save room for the 3 rolls we ordered. The sea bass roll tasted like how a fish tank smells when it needs to be cleaned. Immediately spit that roll out. The other 2 rolls we ordered, the ultimate salmon roll & the TGIF roll were ok but nothing amazing. Publix sushi rolls have better flavor. Overall probably the worst food experience at a restaurant I’ve ever encountered. Which was shocking because it’s in ritzy regency plaza. Never ever ever ever again.

Thought it would be nice to take my mom there for a pre-mothers day sushi adventure. I saw the bad reviews but wanted to make my own assessment. Boy should I have paid attention! Service was unprofessional and rude. Their chicken gyoza was delicious but their sushi was subpar. My mom and I couldn’t even finish the 2 rolls that we got because it just tasted off. It looked nice but the sushi rice was mushy and the sauce that they had was sticky like honey. There were fruit flies near our sushi, that we had to fling our hands at while we are eating. Luckily we had a groupon. Otherwise I would have not paid them a dime! What made it worse was when the waiter came back for a tip, I put a $ 20 bill down and he had the nerve to ask if I wanted change. Seriously??? You expect a $ 20 tip? This isn’t Morton’s steakhouse. Lol. There are far better places to get sushi. Not coming back. Yuck.

Went there a while back with a party of 6. Service was non existent. Slow service and ignored most of our dinner. Food was fair not good not bad but constantly asked them to take care of our drinks and clean our table, again ignored. Left them a 5% tip which should of been 0. Received my bill from American Express and the restaurant changed the gratuity to 15%. Of course American Express adjusted it. This place has a lot of nerve to go along with bad bad service.

I have been to the other location numerous times and I loved it. This was my first time at the Boca location and I wasn’t as satisfied. I ordered the Lobster Shrimp shumai and it was very watery. My partner also felt as if the seafood in the sushi wasn’t as fresh. Had a stronger fishy taste than usual.

Fresh sushi, been here a few times. You don’t need a reservation, came in season only waited like 10 minutes on a saturday night! They have outdoor seating, which is always great especially coming from ny! The restauraunt is big. We atarted with edaname and spicy tuna on crispy rice, its great if you like spice! For dinner we ordered a few rolls to share, mexican, double spicy tuna, yellow tail scallion and rainbow roll. Make sure you read the description, a few come with cream cheese. I’m not a fan of cream cheese in my rolls, we ordered without and was not an issue! If you don’t like sushi, they also have hot dishes! There is something for everyone. Very friendly staff, service can be on the slow side… it’s worth checking out if you like sushi.

I have been dinning at the regency japangos since it opened. The food is always top quality whether you eat sushi or one of their many hot dishes. It is always consist and they have a fantastic shrimp wonton soup that never fails. Kevin has been serving us for many years and is the best at making the experience that much more enjoyable! The atmosphere is very relaxed and they have plenty of flat screens for the sports minded. Long keep up the great work!

The One Star review is generous. It is the lowest factor i can give them. We have ordered takeout from them multiple times and two times the fish has been rancid. We took a break for multiple months because we walked away but the convenience brought us back. They push rancid fish on certain nights(typically Sunday and Monday) because they are clearing out stuff. We have 2 distinct issues with rancid takeout sushi and they do not care.

I had a Groupon for Japango, so I decided to try it out on a Saturday night. About half the tables in the place were occupied so we had our choice of tables. I read that most people have had a problem with the lighting in the restaurant, but I didn’t find it to be garishly bright. Maybe they took note of the bad reviews. We didn’t order any sushi, but what we did order was tasty and a large portion. Someone from the table next to us even asked what it was that smelled so good. I think it was my beef. They didn’t have a children’s menu, but the waiter did tell us that they had children’s portions of chicken or beef teriyaki. We just decided to feed him from our plates. Some restaurants have a sharing fee, which is ridiculous, but this one did not.

We really have tried with this place. We live in Coral Springs and drive to the Boca location because the service is so bad in Parkland. We come for the Tuna Cracker. Well once again disappointing. The tuna was NOT tuna tonight. Very chewy whatever it was. Whenever we order a roll without something it comes with(namely arugula) it came with arugula. Well now it’s ruined and the server doesn’t even understand WHAT arugula is. Never a manager. Can’t do it anymore. Never going back.

Restaurants are like children. This one is a redheaded step-child. An orphan. Mangerless, it runs like a headless chicken on its best day. I had a coupon and thought we might give it a try to see if it improved. More on that in a moment. Gone is the nice ambiance, replaced by 100 watt lightbulbs in the big fixtures without a dimmer that make it look like a Denny’s. I’m thinking that the only reason this place is open is because either Morton Salt or a hypertension drug maker is subsidizing it. The once very tasty shrimp/lobster wonton soup had floating wontons because the soup was the Dead Sea. You could make a scrub from it. The ribs were equally salineville. I ordered brown rice. No show. A meat dish ordered was near raw. Another table sent their beef dish back with the same complaint and it came back equally raw. The Pad Thai was mushy noodles and drowned in sauce. My son asked for water twice. Never came. The kicker, when we went to use the coupon, was that they took $ 10 off as promised, but AFTER the tax, which means we were paying tax on a total that shouldn’t be there, if the meal is being discounted. It’s a few cents here and there, but it’s a way of collecting money which most likely will not be reported to the tax man, and they’ll take off the $ 10 as advertising on top of that. In my book, along with the crappy service, not a high moment of great ethics. The waitress got huffy with me before I got two words out, making me think she’s heard this complaint before. Thank you, but I will head back to The Sea down the street. Some restaurants need an intervention. This awfully run chain needs, in my opinion, a mercy closure.

Better than average pan-asian, though nothing to totally rave about. Still, I love that we have a place like this in our neighborhood. I’m not the biggest fan of their sushi. I had their red curry vegetables and that was an extremely generous and delicious portion.

Only went because they had a groupon for half price. Went on a Sunday early when nobody was there. Server was very nice but the food was really disappointing. Ordered the calamari, which was actually pretty good. After that we got a veggie red curry and deluxe spicy tuna roll. Tuna was in line with publix and the curry was pretty tasteless. We also got a wok tossed noodle which was just as subpar as the other entrees. Would not go back even with another groupon.

I’m so glad we came here for dinner instead of Sushi Masa in Boca. We’ve been to the Boynton location for Masa a couple times in the past. But then I read the reviews for the Boca Masa and Japango and decided it’d be nicer to try Japango since we hadn’t tried their business before. Their atmosphere is so refreshing, contemporary, and romantic with the low glowing color changing lights overhead. We were greeted by a smiling employee and told us to sit wherever we’d like. We had our drinks and food pretty quick! We split 6 pieces of California sushi as an appetizer while we waited for our entrees. I had the Shrimp & Chicken Xo with jasmine rice and my husband had the Shrimp & Scallop Udon. Mmmm! Everything was cooked to perfection, the meats were real tender. I am actually looking forward to eating the leftovers as I RARELY enjoy any kind of Asian food leftovers. We think we may have just found our new favorite Japanese restaurant. Prices are decent for the quality of food you’re being served and the atmosphere and service, too!

Went into regency japango last night. I had been to the one in parkland before and been happy, so when I saw this groupon I snapped it up. We arrive around 730 and were seated right away… they were busy, but there were still a few empty tables. We ordered wine and then started looking over the menu. I noticed they had cucumber wrapped rolls so we decided to do one of these as an appetizer. I chose one with a seaweed salad base that also included various fish with ponzu and sun dried tomato sauce. I thought this roll was excellent. I have never had a cucumber wrapped roll before and this was quite impressive. For the main course I ordered the spicy toro roll. Apparently toro is an extra delicious kind of tuna. I loved the roll. It was huge and the rice was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend went with the pad thai. When the menu is mostly sushi I tend to stay away from the hot food, but I was glad he ordered it because I do love pad thai. The shrimp in it was cooked perfectly; however, I thought the sauce was a little too sweet, and, I can’t believe I’m going to say this, could have used a little spicyness to it. He loved it though. The atmosphere at the restaurant was great. Lots of fun lighting and the wall had glitter tiles! It wasn’t too crazy though, good for a relaxing dinner. The service was good, which sometimes is a problem when using a groupon, but this groupon included an 18% gratuity, which I like so the staff won’t assume you’ll be cheap just because you’re using a coupon. Overall I really enjoyed the meal and will keep japango on my list for sushi.

OMG! This has got to be the best Sushi I have ever had! It is a bit of a drive for me(Boca Raton) but SO worth it. Was there to celebrate a friend’s bday and he recommended the TORO Tuna Roll, appetizer and tartar. TORO is a very high end kind of tuna that isn’t offer at every Sushi place so if you happen to see it, try it! The tartar was to die for! OMG, so tasty and soft. They serve it with some cool chips not rice. It is the greatest tuna tartar I’ve ever placed in my mouth! The TORO rolls were amazing! They are so soft and tender they melt in your mouth! I could eat 3 of the rolls! They are not wrapped in seaweed they are rolled on some thin rice paper of some sort. It is so yummy! I would make the drive to this place from South Miami just to have this sushi. I haven’t had better sushi and I’ve eaten Sushi at a traditional Japanese restaurant in Tokyo!!! Loved it!!!
