The restaurant is open again, but the address on the website is wrong. It is nearly impossible to find. But it is located right beside Andrew’s in Boca Raton near Mizner Park on Plaza Real South. They don’t have 3 for 1 drinks anymore but they do have happy hour until 7 that includes 2 for 1 drinks. The drinks are pricey, I had a $ 13 Skinny Margarita that was OK, luckily I got 2. They also don’t have the $ 3 taco special as promised on the website, which is still under legal ownership battles. They did give my friend and I complimentary Guacamole fresh made, but it was way too salty to eat. The chips were like cheep wal mart chips with loads of salt on top. I had the pork taco in the lettuce wrap, it was so watery, it drenched the whole plate. The beans and rice were floating away. My friend had the steak which looked OK. If you like bland food, come here. The bartender was very sweet but was swamped by the Boca Cougars demanding their drinks. Also, if you like old ladies, come here. There was a drunk couple commenting on everything we ordered and kept saying«OOhh that looks good.» about everything like I was supposed to offer them food or something. All in all this place is not that great.

Freshly made guacamole, best idea ever! I also suggest the cheesy yucca fries.

Awful service, 3 for 1 drink specials are bull, we ordered the 3 for 1 house margarita and received a pint glass of margarita plus a rocks glass of the left over. We then ordered our 2nd round and when the bill came we found out that the 1 pint glass was 2 margs and the rocks glass was 1. When we complained we were confronted by someone who claimed to be the owner/manager who refused to apologize or help us out in any way.

Love the custom guacamole here. A few good friends of mine took me here for a mid week margarita and to discretely celebrate it NOT being my birthday. The service was impeccable. The drinks were a bit too strong for my taste. Huge fan of the guacamole they make it fresh with your choice of ingredients(I am picky so mine was onion free). Nice place, great experience, friendly staff and during the summer no wait time.

Great place to grab a quick bite and watch the game. Seems to be expensive for what you get but if your looking for Tequila this is a great stop.

Add one part Tequila 2 parts fresh guacamole and even fresher shrimp ceviche Swirl in 2 flat screens showing NBA playoff games. Stir in Laker fans on holiday hooked to a testosterone drip Blend and serve hot in the heart of Boca. Came here for a fundraiser event during the day. Hung out for a long while and got a feel for this place tucked away on a sleepy little block in Boca. Food is pretty good — South Western flair. Pretty decent margaritas — after all– they are a «Tequila Bar.» Tables outside to enjoy the juice of the gods, al fresco. Shrimp Ceviche was the best on the menu. Fresh and chunky. Chicken quesadillas were ok — the mexican burger was good– fries– fab. Fresh, fresh fresh guac. mashed up before your eyes. Yummy spiced-up tortilla chips. Yum –but still — haven’t found anywhere near great Mexican food in S. Fla. The search continues. Nice little bar — had a fun time watching strangers go gaga over a playoff game. Just call me, Vicarious D. If I lived nearby, this place has all the ingredients for a fun little go-to spot.

Very high quality Mexican Café, with specialization in making fresh guacamole right at your table side(mild, medium, or hot, no less!!!). The freshly made tortilla chips are delicious with the home made guac, and I’m happy to report that the experience does not go downhill from there. I ordered the three tacos, and they were fresh, and uniquely seasoned in an urban, trendy, fashionable take on an old Mexican food item stalwart– the simple taco. Friendly, almost chipper service, in a very chic section of town. Popular hangout for the Happy Hour«Beautiful People» of Boca… My only complaint was that it was more expensive that I’d like(over $ 100 for two people, with guacamole, drinks and dessert). Still, an excellent dinner!

Really solid food. On the pricey side for, at the end of the day is Mexican food. Service is solid and the table side guacamole is really damn tasty. The people watching is real solid here. This is quissential Boca at its finest. Lots of plastic, lifts and tucks, and that’s just the guys. You can sit indoors or outside and it is an enjoyable place. Nice to take people from out of town for the solid and different twist on the food, except that the view on the patio is a street and a parking lot and a bunch of those in vogue faux tuscan condo buildings.

Very good food. I googled«Mexican food» because i was looking for some good Spanish food in my area and this came up. The prices are pretty up there, in keeping with the location, right in downtown boca, but it’s totally worth it if your up to it. They have a very wide variety of Tequila, a whole menu worth of different types, i always get a margarita, which is great, but they have fruity margaritas(mango, peach, etc.) if your looking for that taste. The food is excellent, i picked from my friends plates and also ordered the tacos(i kept it simple). they were just awesome. the corn tortilla was SO good, i got 3: mahi mahi, rotisserie chicken, and steak. wow, SO good. i liked them SO much that i DIDN’T eat my last taco, i saved it for my GF! they have a fun indoor bar too. wanted to mention that they make table-side guacamole(they make it right at your table) which is totally worth getting! Check this place out!

Guacamole made tableside in a private molcajete and the 8 font text page of tequilas are clearly the restaurants kingpin offerings. The guac was superb and the cheese yucca fries were a nice twist and served piping hot at our table. Traditional mexican cooking is always a treat and MoQuila delivers in that regard. A variety of seafood plates and of course the traditional carne asada. No one at our table tried it, but the hot molcajete dishes(seafood and meat) were a unique offering by my standards. My scallops were slightly overcooked and my compadre’s medium rare steak was medium well by Morton’s standards, but the flavors were spiced up and most enjoyable. Perhaps a try of the amazing desserts would have garnered a fourth star, but the entres and the sides were too much for me to dive into churros or chipotle chocolate fondue. The ambiance in the restaurant changes from a little cheesy to interesting as the sun goes down. Would recommend a later sitting if it suits your schedule. Our server was very intent on keeping the water glass full and it seemed that similar attention was granted to other tables.

Very ironic that J. C. G compares MoQuila to Adobo Grill in Chicago because that’s exactly what I was thinking during my meal here. And I agree that Adobo makes a better margarita(and certainly stronger), but the margarita I had at MoQuila was very refreshing. I’m not sure if there was any alcohol in that margarita(and believe me… being the lightweight that I am I would feel it if there was), but it tasted pretty good. As for the rest of the meal– the chips and guac were amazing! I’m not sure what makes those chips so good, but I hope Chicago never figures out the secret or I’ll be eating them every night! Probably would have been a good idea to stop eating after all those chips and guac, but I thought I had room for a chicken quesadilla appetizer. Large portion for an appetizer and it was good, but not nearly as good as the margarita, chips and guac. I’d go back to MoQuila, but would probably order a different appetizer/entrée next time… but if anything I’d go back for those chips and guac. YUM!

Just came back from a dinner meeting at MoQuila. Lovely little place with a very trendy aura. Definitely a place to mingle and be seen in BOCA! Our dinner was held in the private room on the side. Nice space with a few sofas, a flat screen tv, and a private bar. It was very cozy, like someone’s living room pad. Meal started off with Guacamole, made tableside in a Molcajete… fancy Spanish term for Mortar and Pestle. Great Guac, with tons of creamy avocado, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, roasted Poblanos, lime and the perfect amount of salt. The amount of heat is adjusted according to taste. Served with housemade Tortilla chips dusted with chili powder, it was fantastic. Since it was Mexican food after all, it was only proper to start the meal off with Margaritas. I ordered the Prickly Pear Margarita… sounded good and looked good, but tasted… eh. Not that palate pleasing, in my opinion. Second margarita ordered that night was the frozen Passion Fruit Margarita. This one tasted better perhaps due to the additional zingy tartness along with the ice crystals, which made for a more refreshing drink. You know what? I don’t think I am meant to be a Margarita drinker. I found the Tequila to be offputting compared to other liqueurs. Then again, I am not a real drinker so just ignore this segment of the review: oP. For appetizers, I started off with the Shrimp Tacos. The two small tacos were served with shredded lettuce, onion, multiple baby shrimps and drizzled with a squirt of sour cream all on top of what appeared to be handmade, Masa tortillas. In theory, it sounded great but flavorwise, it was unimpressive. Very bland tacos, unenhanced even with the salsas added. The only thing that helped salvage those tacos was a huge dollop of Guacamole. Dude, this girl definitely cannot live without her Guac. :oP For the entrée, I ordered the Carne Asada, which is Garlic Marinated Grilled Skirt Steak served with Roasted Wild Mushrooms, fried Plantain chips, and Chimichurri sauce. The presentation was lovely and fortunately, the meat was good too. The meat was tender and buttery(cuz of all the fat marbling in it!). The mushrooms were earthy and sweet. It was a great dish. There’s always room for dessert right? For dessert, I ordered the Chocolate Tres Leche, which consist of a chocolate cake soaked in milk and covered in a Dulce de Leche Icing. This probably was the best thing I had at the dinner. The cake was moist but not falling apart. The milk sweet but not cloying. A thin layer of the icing coated the top of the cake, adding just a touch of indulgence. It was really good. All in all, the meal was not fantastic but it wasn’t bad considering this is Florida after all. I guess I should be happy with what we have here. Could be worse right? Don’t answer that. :oP

Second best margarita known to man(this man, anyway… Adobo in Chicago takes the prize) and an excellent vibe for southern Fla.

Picture this– my dad retires to Boyton Beach and myself, my husband and my 3 and ½ month old all trek down to see them for a week. Three days into the trip, the grandparents are practically begging for«alone time» with the baby. Awesome! So, where do we go? My aunt who lives maybe 10 minutes away from my parents recommends a place on Palmetto Road. We brought Jill(my GPS) with us, so no worries. We get to where the restaurant she told us to go to is… or should I say.WAS. Closed. So, we walk around and found MoQuila’s. By this time I was beyond ready for a drink, and the thought of a tequila bar sounded good. We get seated next to a group of partying ladies who were fun. I decided on the Oaxaca punch to drink(citrus tequila, banana juice and grenadine). Well worth the eleven bucks. but I am sure anything would have been after two stressful days with my folks. Of course, we ordered the guac made table side, medium spiced. So, so good. They are big on serving their specialties of the house in a stone pig. Cute. Next, we had the molajete con carne– a meat lovers dream of pork, steak, chorizo mixed with mushrooms and cheese. It is already spicy, but they serve it with pico on the side. Our waitress recommended we try it with the pico de gallo. The suggestion was well taken because that added just the right flavor, If you are looking for a fun place to go, with a wide selection of tequila(they sell them by the bottle, too) and good Mexican food, this is a great place. It is set in what looks like a hotel/condo/office complex so there are great people watching ops if you ask to be seated by a window.
