For starters our waitress was rude. This was my first time here, she didn’t greet us or ask if we had questions about the menu. After returning with our food she never came back to check on us. The food was just mediocre. We both had the chicken quesadillas and they were salty. I could have probably done better at Taco Bell.

I was so excited to try this restaurant. I thought it was part of the chain of Uncle Julio’s I’ve been to in Chicago and Texas which is amazing, this place not so much. Our waiter Billy was great very nice, attentive, and overall great server. The food was meh not the worst Tex Mex I’ve had. The margaritas were great I had mine on the rocks my friend had the swirl she was not impressed. The tacos were doughy and stuffed with to many sides and not enough meat. The Enchiladas were meh as well small and not a lot of flavor. I had such high hopes but I will not be going back. W

Kyle was our server and he was hotter than our fajitas! My partner cooled-off over a beer. Excellent service. We will be back.

Great authentic food. Went for lunch and had awesome service from Moe. Her recommendations were spot on! Loved the fresh tortillas with Mexican butter. My only disappointment was that I couldn’t eat more… I was too full. Go you won’t regret it.

Came on a Friday afternoon with a friend from out of town. The restaurant was empty — it was an off hour and off season. We ordered mojitos, table side guacamole and chips, and we split the carne asada meal. It was a lot of food and it was all fresh and tasty. The steak was like butter, the guacamole was chunky, and the mojitos were made just the way I like them. The service was attentive, and they didn’t rush us, even though we sat there for two hours chatting. I would definitely go back.

Just stopped in after great Billy Joel Tribute Band, «Turnstiles». Great place, immense space which they seem to have no problem filling. Our Waiter, Billy, friendly, beyond competent, pointed out Cheese Enchiladas on the Menu. Perfection . Recommend highly.

This was my first experience at Uncle Julio’s. The restaurant was busy but Adam was an amazing server who kept up with my families needs, which made my experience exceptional. Thank you, Adam.

The food was decent but not worth the expensive price. We were seated at a party table that was way too small for the amount of people. And to make things worse we were next to a really loud party and we were seated so close that my friend was being constantly touched by strangers. After frequent complaints we were told we would get«a couple of desserts» but nothing was done about the actual situation. Then they made the music louder which only made it harder to communicate with people at the same table. I had to yell to speak to the person next to me. The servers couldn’t even fit between the tables to do their jobs. And did I mention the restaurant was half empty when we arrived? When my friends were on the brink of having an anxious breakdown because of the noise and the constant touching it was bad. I know it’s a family restaurant but other guests should also be a priority.

Our group table was set intolerably close to another group. Neighboring table kept flipping their hair onto me we were so close. Can’t hear the person next to me. Food is okay and extremely overpriced for texmex.

This review is for our server last night(5÷20÷16) named Billy. We got to uncle Julios around 5 and had a large group of people to listen to the LEGENDSOFOLD SCHOOL concert. We stayed right until the concert ended which was close to midnight. Billy was by far the best server I’ve ever had especially in that situation. The restaurant was completely packed especially when the storm came through. He was so efficient and did everything with a smile. He never got flustered and was very organized with all the separate checks. He was just FANTASTIC and a pleasure.

Couldn’t have had a worse experience. I expected better service considering the location. The server accidentally made a mistake when explaining the specials for the evening. When my bill came, I noticed I was being charged an extra $ 15. A manager by the name of Steven told me I should’ve paid better attention to the server and that I should learn the difference between a fajita and a taco. Manager Steven proceeded to tell his friends about it and had his friends mock me on the way out. I HAVENEVERBEENTREATEDSOPOORLY. It’s a shame how a beautiful restaurant and great menu can be ruined by such awful service and management. STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE. I’m surprised this place is still in business considering the service being provided. Hopefully the response I get from corporate will be better than the one I got from Manager Steven.

Good location, promising menu, disappointing performance fits Uncle Julios to a «T».sort of a VENUSFLYTRAP… Except for an addicting salsa & chips… better Mexican cuisine can be more easily found in the frozen food section of Publix… Don’t bother with the skirt steak… it’s thinner than a skirt… the enchiladas are totally forgettable & barely recognizable on the plate. …But not forgettable was the awful ceviche dish which had a very weird spoiled strange taste. The manager immediately took back the dish, returning later, he indicated that there may have been an old batch mixed with a new batch… Hopefully we will not get sick on a single mouthful… which we indeed did spit out. Curiously Uncle Julio’s has been around for a few years I suppose Uncle Julio’s, continues to exist because there’s a never-ending supply of new innocent patrons.

I’ve been to the Uncle Julio’s in the Chicago area numerous times and everything has been good. However, the service in the Boca Raton area was so lacking that I had to write. And while the food is the most important thing at a restaurant, the service contributes greatly to your experience. And if the service is bad, I can honestly say I won’t come back… which is the case at the Boca Raton restaurant. We had reservations for a Sunday night a few weeks back and neither the inside nor the outside was crowded when we got there. At the same time, they were quoting other customers 20 – 30 minute waits. I can only guess that they were short staffed. It took forever for our waitress to come by to get our drink orders and then took almost 40 minutes to even get our entrees. We asked several times for small plates for the chips/salsa, but never got them. So I(like another customer there) went and grabbed small plates from a counter. We also asked for a larger plate for the fajitas and never got to that to the end. The food was still good at the location, but if I’m back in the area, I’ll go elsewhere for Mexican. The menu also seemed smaller(i.e. less options) when compared to the Chicago locations.

Came in for dinner with my family and were utterly disappointed. The service was horrendous, we had to ask our server multiple times for water refills and napkins. We even witnessed the table next to us have to slowly count on their fingers all they have been asking for for the past hour to the oblivious waitress. The best thing about this place is the fresh guacamole. Its very chunky and flavorful. We also ordered the Carne Asada which was listed as skirt steak but what arrived was a rectangular peice of flat steak. Smh. Not returning.

The food is exceptional, but I do have to admit that their service is terrible. It took approximately 45 minutes for my entrée to arrive which is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. The food, however, did make up for the service. My meal was by far a solid five stars but the service is a generous two stars. I highly recommend their signature drink«The Swirl»

We decided 4 stars because the Margaritas were delicious, the combination enchilada platter with one each of chicken, beef and cheese was the best Mexican authentic taste we’ve had in a while. The service was excellent, responsive, quick, pleasant. Including 4 drinks(for two people because they weren’t huge but scrumptious), the bill including tip was $ 70($ 12 tip). We liked that they used excellent quality corn tortillas and good taco/mex seasoning on the beef, and good taste of side of beans and rice. Two shared the platter and guacamole. Fun to see a Mclaren car parked outside.

A few weeks ago a couple of my friends suggested we go out to eat/drink at Uncle Julio’s. One of them loved the tamales there so we decided to go. I hang out and dine in the Mizner area often but this was my first visit here. We decided to sit outside on the tabletops and our server came out to greet us and get drink orders quickly. All of us got some type of margarita but I think I got watermelon or strawberry but it was really good! We decided to skip the appetizers and go straight to the food! One of my friends got the tamales and she loved them. The other ordered the 3 flautas dinner that had guacamole, sour cream, rice and beans. I stole a bite they were really good and I ate most of her beans too lol(ok I ate them all.). I got the chicken quesadilla’s and they were good as well. I hear they have a good happy hour so I would like to come check it out again sometime soon. I also didn’t get a chance to try the fried ice cream either so that’s a good enough reason for me to go back! =)

I went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and sat outside. It’s great if you come by bike so you can sit with your bike. The staff was friendly and efficient. They bring you complimentary chips and salsa. You can ask for spicy salsa too! I ordered the mixed enchilada plate. It comes with your choice of two enchiladas: chicken, ground beef, or cheese. Sauces include red meat sauce, green chili sauce, or a sour cream sauce. You can choose two sides: charro(whole pinto beans with bacon) beans, refried beans, or Spanish rice. I had a cheese enchilada with red sauce and a chicken enchilada with green chili sauce. My friend ordered off the weekend brunch menu. She was not happy that they put her eggs and fruit on the same plate… her fruit tasted like eggs:( They make their own tortillas! There is street parking or free garage parking. Overall the service was great. The food is good. If in the area, and I want Mexican food I would return.
