Ok, but overpriced & touristy. Very small, not much parking and right on Highway 1. Not very friendly or happy worker lady when we went in… she seemed to be in a bad mood. They had a large range of kites and windmills, not a wide variety of caNdy. Mostly taffy.

Thanks Fiona,(shes one of the owners we met today) On our way threw BB, we stopped in for taffy, salted carmels, ect. I told her the story of how 30years ago we bought a kite there, and we still have it, and it works amazing. But before I get ahead of myself, I waited outside, while my children went in, because I had my French bulldog in tow. And I didnt feel like picking up everything she would knock over. But the owner noticing me out there, came out and offered Lilly a few doggie treats, then she proceeds to go and fill a bowl of water for her. Kindness is seldom seen in our day and age. It was beyond kind. And Fiona, Lilly just wanted to say thank you. We love your shop, we will stop in everytime we are in Bodega.

Stopped in here yesterday for some salt water taffy. The store is cute and has some good souvenirs. The salt water taffy on the other hand is awful. I don’t know what company of taffy they use, but all of the flavors just taste funky. The ones that do taste like the flavor were fake tasting or overly sweet and the others just taste nothing like the flavor they should be. I usually love all salt water taffy, but this brand just tasted off.

Second time I’ve been to this store on the way to the ocean for a day trip. The store has a fairly wide selection of kites, windmill art, and saltwater taffy, and a few other children’s toys. That being said– the owner is sort of a condescending jerk. Before we even had a chance to browse the store, the owner decided it would be fun to mouth off and insult my friend based on his looks, «what do we have here?» calling him a «damn hippy». It wasn’t funny. Any business I may have had in mind for them that day was over. That was for sure. And I won’t be back. For the record, I’d rather be a hippy than a rude pretentious candy shop owner… Any day of the week. This is California. You might want to try to get along with the people who live here.

We always stop by here when we are in BB. The salt water taffy is by far the best I’ve ever had. They have an awesome selection of kites and I have purchased 2 so far, one for my niece and one for my nephew. The kites are expensive but my sister said they are awesome kites and super durable. The kids love them! The staff is always very friendly and helpful!

Such a fun store! All the flags and fun spinning things out front drew us in… so much to choose from. Fun, easy and great service! Found a super cute Halloween flag for the yard. Love it! Salt water taffy, kites, toys and games! So much to see!

If you don’t know where this place is, you won’t miss it. It’s the white stucco building surrounded by loads of whirly gigs, flags and other assorted lawn decorations located on the left side of Highway 1 as you north head towards Bay Flat Road and Spud Point Marina. You won’t miss it… I guarantee it. Great selection… not only flags and but saltwater taffy too. Haven’t ate that stuff in years and years, but people were buying it up by the bagful when we stopped by. Small toy and kites for the kids are also available. Holiday season bring special seasonal flags and such. Stop in and check this store out… you won’t be disappointed!

This place is a «MUST» stop if you’re hanging out or even cruising through Bodega Bay. The owners are amazing and friendly. Great design for picking your own taffy out and making custom mixes. We have a 2 year old son and when we camp near Bodega Bay, we always stop in for a toy for him. I have bought numerous kites and wind toys from them and they stand behind their product. I just had to bring in a Prism(brand) airfoil stunt kite for damage and the owner looked it over said it would be covered and gave me a replacement on the spot. Great business!

A very nice selection of saltwater taffy, kites and many other novelty items! Prices were very reasonable and the gal working there was super friendly and nice. The store had a cute ambiance to it. A great place to get some take home gifts.

Candy and Kites is the cutest little kite store around. I love the candy display and selection of both flags and kites. The owners are absolutely the best and the shop is adorable.

Something about being next to a body of water that makes you crave salt water taffy. Overall the taffy was very soft which made it difficult to eat, did not appreciate that so much. I was THAT kid in the candy store until I read that their taffy was imported from Portland, Oregon. Then that happy kid turned into a sour apple. I wanted local, homemade candy not something imported from another state. Nothing against Portland but I am a strong supporter of local business using local products. Its a chance for locals to highlight and rave about their area, their skill, their passion. Also the woman at the register did no raving, in fact she kept her interactions with us at a minimal while the other guest received a more welcoming response. A few pieces tasted like colored sugar but for what its worth the Salted Carmel taffy was on point. Thank you Portland.

We got to Bodega Bay around 4:30PM on Saturday after spending the day driving up Stinson Beach, eating lunch in Inverness, and stopping to stock up on cheese at Cowgirl Creamery in Point Reyes. When we finally made it to Bodega Bay, we decided to head straight to the beach and fly a kite since we’d been promising it to our son all day. Since we’d forgotten to bring our kite with us, we were happy to find Candy & Kites. The store is packed full of kites and candy, as the name suggests. My wife and son found a kite they liked with the help of a kind and knowledgeable man. We then asked him where we could fly the kite and he suggested we try Salmon Creek Beach since Doran Beach was currently closed. That we ended up not flying the kite that day has nothing to do with him nor the kite we purchased at Candy & Kites. That was pure incompetence on both my and my wife’s part. It involves me trying to fly the flopping kite while both my wife and I screaming at our kid to drop the damn shiny new stick he found on the beach. He eventually complied and buried it in the sand. Only then did we realize he had been holding a key part of the kite. Errrr… loser? We eventually got the beautiful kite we bought at Candy & Kites to fly on Sunday morning. It made our weekend in Bodega Bay quite memorable and definitely comical.

A bright spot along the road that takes one back to childhood. Bright wind spinners and flags catch the eye and beckon you inside this cool little store. Inside, one can find all sorts of cool toys, flags, kites, collectibles and candy! They have an amazing assortment of salt water taffy in every color of the rainbow.

Right off, they sell a candy called«Whale Poop». There’s also Otter Poop and Seagull Poop. It’s chocolate covered toffee and is very good. :) I’m not a fan of salt water taffy, but there was enough other candies to keep me happy. I always appreciate a store that stocks local product — which they do. The shop is quaint and abundant with a plethora of kites. I love it! I’ll definitely come back to visit for some more«Poop» :D

5 stars if you’re a kid, 3 stars if your’e an adult. Pros: Lots of different types of kites, wind related toys and some other small cheap kids toys. Friendly service. Cons: The candy selection is mostly salt water taffy, wish their selection of candy was as good as their selection of kites. Overall: If you have little ones in your vehicle and you’re on The ONE, you have to stop here.

You must stop here!!! Kites galore! Any kind of kite you can imagine is here! Seriously there are hundreds of styles. Any Bodega Bay beach is the perfect place to try out you new kite. Prices are a bit high. The guy did offer to help string it up and I took him up on it as I had 4 kids to wrangle about. Its a small cute place with over abundance of this and that’s! Taffy!!! Yay taffy, we love salt water taffy! They have over 80 gourmet flavors! You serve yourself from the ‘taffy boat’. We got watermelon, pomegranate and blue raspberry. All yummy! Be ware… You can’t eat just one! Be prepared to spend some cash on the taffy, just sayin! They also have plenty of wind stocks, flags, books, beach toys and trinkets to choose from. Its like pulling a kid out of a candy store… OH wait it is a candy store too, but the kids just love all the goodies to look at! Mom, I want this, Mom I want that!!!
