This review is long overdue! Our group of cosmo-enthusiasts, in search of the ultimate cosmo to be found in Boise, visited The Bar as the 2nd stop in our tour, Cosmo-Con. I phoned earlier in the week, letting the bar manager know we’d have a large group invading who would all be ordering cosmos as it can get overwhelming to suddenly be faced with an order for 15 cosmos! When I entered, the tables had been configured for our group, snack bowls were on the tables and we were offered waters while we waited for the rest of our group(as we like to all toast our cosmos together!). The ambiance in The Bar is all dimly lit and dark wood dashing. The bartender was amazing. Completely ready for us and even created an inventive virgin cocktail for a member of our group who is pregnant. The Bar’s cosmo is interesting. They add a little splash of Domain De Canton(ginger infused cognac), which gives it a bit more sweetness than is usual for a typical Cosmo. I love ginger and also happen to love, specifically, Domain De Canton – so there was nothing about this addition that bothered me in the least! But, if you’re a purist, you might want to specify if you don’t want it added in. But, if not? Give it a try. It’s makes for a little more depth of flavor. The presentation is gorgeous – lovely pink, a splash of green lime floating, and a pretty curl of orange peel. Our group found The Bar’s cosmo to be solid – giving it an average of nearly 3.5 stars. I, personally, would give their cosmo 3 stars, the atmosphere and service 5 – so, I can state unequivocally to be a fan and hit it with 4 stars. I think this is a bar in Boise that gets overlooked(unless you are attending a Steelhead game – as it’s adjacent to Centurylink Arena – or an event associated with The Grove Hotel). They are mixing beautiful cocktails and on the weekends, my understanding is it is a piano bar. It is large and if you needed to have a private discussion over fine cocktails – the tables are configured in such a way that this could be easily accomplished. The atmosphere is conducive to enjoying an after work cocktail with colleagues as well as a romantic date night drink destination. It really is a hidden gem that I have every intention on returning to enjoy another cocktail and perhaps sample their eats(which I’ve heard are fabulous). Get to it!

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Boise, ID
The Bar is located in the lobby of the Grote Hotel. It has nice seating with several tables we were able to arrange for our rather large group. This was stop number two on our Cosmo-Con tour. The bartender was great, he was very attentive to the group and how our cosmo tour worked. The cosmos were good and several of our group had a second cosmo, almost everyone had a second drink of some kind. Overall a great experience.
