AVOIDTHISPLACELIKE A PLAGUEIFYOUDON’T WANTTORUIN A BIGDAY ! I HADTOCALLTHECOPSTOGETMYREFUND. Go here if you are okay with their below average cake decoration skills but never expect any customer service. Apart from not making a simple cake order right for my significant other’s birthday, they tried to scam me. So I ordered for a simple cake in the shape of 25 and asked for some fancy girly designs on top with a message. Went on the birthday evening to pickup only to have the staff rudely shout at me saying I already cancelled the cake and trying to cheat them. when I have the receipt with me the whole time, they claimed I sent someone with the receipt to cancel the order and got the money. I was also told the cake was sent back since it is cancelled. If I sent someone to cancel the cake why would I be going to pick up the cake. I insisted to talk to the person took my order and when she came I heard a different story. She said I was the one who came earlier to cancel the order and they got everything on cctv. I was like they must be super dumb to allow someone else to come in, cancel some random order and get the money which was paid by a credit card. I didn’t bow down so they told I can have the cake but not money back(at that point of time I didn’t ask for money). So they brought the cake that they told was sent back and it was awful. The 25 was not in proper shape, literally no designs on top of cake and they wrote the message on the cake board. I was shocked to see the cake and understood why they were creating all the drama. I could no way use that cake for a birthday surprise so asked that my money was refunded. And they told I was trying to cheat them, I can take the cake but cannot enter the business in future. They were not even courteous and told me they would call the cops on me. I lost my patience and being not at fault I called the cops. When the cop arrived and asked for the cctv footage they told him the CCTV is not functioning properly. But without any evidence they kept saying I cheated them. After showing the receipt I had with me and cops intervention they finally gave my refund on my credit card. But we wasted 2 hours in this process which entirely ruined my wife’s birthday. And guess what, we never had a cake for my wife’s birthday and that was the worst birthday she had in all years. Attention to detail here they lacked ability To perform simple details!!! I purchased a three tier wedding cake and it tasted great! But I was was very very disappointed once I picked up my cake and saw how terrible it looked yes they did do what I asked for but it was very poorly executed and felt like it ruined my day

The service was okay and the people understood what I was asking for and I even gave them a picture of the exact way I wanted the cake to look. When we picked up the cake it looked some what of the way I wanted it to, but not exactly. And the colors were very ugly though I know it’s a Mexican bakery and they have really bright and obnoxious colors. It stayed together very nicely and taste great! Cutting it was smooth and easy. If I could redo my order I would change the colors and have the bakers try harder to copy the image of the cake I wanted. Overall not too shabby for the price.

There’s something about a panaderia that I cannot resist. It could be the self-serve format(grab a tray, some tongs, and go!), and it could also be that they are always ridiculously inexpensive for what you get. Gigante isn’t flashy; you’re greeted by no one, there is a bread & sweets case on each wall, and the girl will ring up your order and send you on your way. There are also some beverages(Pepsi, Frappucino, milk) in a cooler, just in case you aren’t going to make it home. The cheese danish and the tri-color cookie were so good, I considered pulling off of I-55 the other day just stop in here and get more. The danishes and cookies are the size of a human face. Skip the donuts. I don’t know what I was thinking, but the dough was very dry but dense, not at all what a donut should be. What the heck? NOEMPANADAS? No me gusta. These types of pastries dry out quickly, so plan to eat them the day of purchase or the next morning. Any longer than that, and they will be stale. Everything is right around $ 1/each. So Gigante isn’t as cheap as others, but it’s still inexpensive compared to the fancy cupcake bakeries.

Value! Large, tasty treats baked daily for minimal expense. The treats are from Hispanic heritage, so it’s a little bit overwhelming trying to figure what you want if you aren’t familiar with the culture. But, the things that are recognizable to the uncultured eye, like mine, are very good! Well worth what little you’ll pay for the large treats. Don’t be afraid to try different things. The friendly staff will patiently help you with any questions.

Horrible cakes. They may taste okay but they fall apart easily and are not well constructed. They didn’t even use fondant on the entire cake and it was over priced. Very disappointed. Would not use again.

I bought a chocolate cake with strawberry filling for someone’s birthday and absolutely loved it! They did a nice job with the buttercream and the cake wasn’t too sweet. We’ll definitely be coming back to try their other cakes!

Love their cakes they make such a delicious marble cake with butter cream frosting. I like chocolate mousse filling but the kids love the banana filling, either way everyone loves it . I have not had much other than their cakes so I cannot give an accurate review on those. They look good :)

Love their cakes! In 2006 they did my wedding cake — awesome! A few weeks ago they made a blue and silver whipped cream icing in the shape of a «50» for my husband’s surprise party. It was fabulous!!! Working with the staff there was a good experience; I felt that they really wanted our occasion to go well. This is a great bakery, and their prices are good too. They work really hard to give you exactly what you ask for, and I super appreciated that! Even the baker called me just to hear directly from me what I wanted … he delivered it head on! Perfect!!! The cake looked awesome but it also tasted great. I love this bakery …

Was not happy with the cake I ordered from this bakery. I first called to ask about pricing & order info and the person that answered, answered as if they were home(not professional). I went in person and ordered a cake anyway. I knew that this was a Mexican bakery but didn’t expect the workers to not speak english. The language barrier made it difficult to order what I wanted, which is ridiculous. I thought the price was kind of high but thought it might be worth it if the cake tasted good. When I picked up the cake, it looked beautiful but the taste was REALLY disappointing. For what I payed I expected so much better. There was so much frosting on the cake it was hard to taste anything else. I will never order from this company again. The service and taste was no good. The hours and quick turnaround time are nice but for the taste, I would have been better off buying a Jewel brand cake, not happy!

Okay… on my first visit(via my cool Daddio) this past Sunday, I was going to give Gigante 4 stars because the(so called) cheese danish I had gotten tasted lemony(or something) and I NOLIKE fruit in my cheese pastries or desserts… but upon my second trip this morning for a goodbye treat for a fave co-worker of mine who was(oh-so-sadly) being let go at work… but God bless her for getting a rockin’ replacement job just in time, I saw that the note by what I thought was a cheese Danish actually read«Pineapple». In that case, it was pretty damn good. I rectified the cheese situation today by grabbing a real cheese danish that was light and fluffy with ooey, gooey cheese filling… apology accepted, Gigante… but please don’t try to feed me fruit in the guise of cheese again. On the first trip with my Dad, we had gotten a shit ton stuff for less than $ 4… my Dad looked at me like there was a register error but I told him, no sir… Mexican bakeries are not only delicious but dirt cheap. My second visit this morning consisted of me going on a cake, cupcake, cinnamon bun, watermelon cookie, doughnut, and croissant crusade… I got 2 huge serving platters of baked goods for $ 25… score! I guess if I had to pick one, I’d go to Panaderia Coral over Gigante but Gigante is just so conveniently located and dare I say… even more nominally priced than Panaderia Coral… that I… just can’t quit you.
