I have read some of the negative reviews and I want to address them. Chinese Food is no longer inexpensive unless you go to China Town SF and get dim sum. After moving to So CA it took us years to find a Chinese restaurant that didn’t’ t dump brown soy sauce on everything. China is like America broken into. Providences much like our Southern, Tex Mex, west, Eastern, Chicago vs NY. We don’t u get to see authentic Chinese unless we really search it out or invited to someone’s home. Peking Wok is not the most upscale Chinese Restaurant I have been in, but it serves it’s community with great food. A great atmosphere, I love the piano. Panda Express has it’s place as do the restaurants serving soy loaded food, but do not in anyway think that is Chinese only way. Peking has great food cooked to perfection and yes you pay more.

Dinner a couple nights ago was great as usual, we’ve been coming in for years. But the other night the sweet lady at the cashier area(guessing the owner) noticed our server hadn’t got to us(looks like she had a big party), she came over took great care of us and then went into the kitchen and personally made us these incredible fresh basil spring rolls on the house. Worth a visit, one of SoCals better Asian food restaurants… oh but the martinis are just ok.

This place is amazing. We have been going here for years now and I have never had a bad experience. Food is always fresh, and having someone play the piano is a nice touch. My husband and I enjoy having a quiet date night here. All of the waiters/waitresses are all so nice. The food is on the pricey side but trust me, it’s well worth it.

What a great place! Especially for a group. I am the first one to poo poo Chinese, I prefer Japanese and Thai but to my brother’s recommendation, my family of 10 decided to spend Easter dinner here. My parents were staying at Pala and the place we wanted to dine there, didn’t allow kids and we had two about 10 yrs old. We were happily greeted at the door by the hostess and didn’t require our whole party to be present before they took us to our private dining room to get comfortable. A piano man was playing familiar tunes all night which was very cool. We could hear him from our private room. They have a large round table with a large spinning lazy susan on top if it. Perfect for family style. We agreed on a bunch of different dishes and turned the lazy susan as we went and tried a bit of everything. The food was fantastic! Some of the things we ordered were: Sesame beef, breaded and fried but flavorful, both pork and chix fried rice(didn’t try it but they loved the pork one), garlic chicken, full of flavor and a bit spicy, almond chicken, shrimp in lobster sauce, a bit slimy for me but most liked it. Brown and white rices, bowls of hot and sour soup and war wonton as well. Lots of wine, sake and tea. Just a really fun evening with great food and service. Would definitely give this place a try!!! Hidden in a mini mall in the back! But plenty of parking.

I don’t want to be too hard on them because it’s a remote location with few decent restaurants. But I really think that Panda Express is much, much better.

They should name it «Rip off Wok», overpriced, mediocre Americanized Chinese, they get away with it because its the only game in town.

Always went to this place when I lived in California. Delicious! The seafood imperial soup and walnut shrimp were some of my favorites. Always friendly service. Highly recommend!

This is one of those places we go to once in a while but should go more often. We have always had great service and excellent food. It is a bit pricey but the ingredients seem fresh and each dish has a unique flavor. The piano adds a nice touch. One of those little gems we are lucky to have in Bonsall.

Best Chinese you will find in the area. Crisp, fresh and quality dishes. The opposite of what you find in most strip malls. Best part, they have a pianist to compliment the meal. Really enjoy this restaurant, we stop in a couple times a month, recommend giving it a try.

This place is. Okay. The ambiance is upscale and romantic, with dim lighting and a pianist playing(at least when we went on a Saturday night). The service was good as well. The food, was not very typical to Chinese food I’ve had before. The kung-pao chicken tasted. different. but not bad at all. The chow mein we ordered however, was most-definitely overlooked. The fried rice on the other hand was great. I wouldn’t come back large in part to the steep prices,!and also because I don’t think I found it more desirable than your typical Panda Express.

Favorite place for Chinese — we do take out couple times a month –peters chicken, crispy beef, Mala beef and soft noodles are all excellent. Consider lunch — good value — soup/salad and lunch portion of select dishes– enjoy

I stopped here for lunch on my way through town and am I glad I did. I ordered the cashew chicken lunch which came with sweet & sour soup and white rice and was delicious. There was plenty to take home and heat up later on. It’s difficult to find tasty Chinese food so I’m excited when I find some.

Great food and great service overall. Came here on a Friday evening. It was busy and had a great vibe! It was an awesome experience from Ann the bartender to listening to the piano guy. The service and food were top notch! Definitely will be coming here again! Would highly recommend! Enjoy!

I’m not Asian. I don’t plan on being Asian. I don’t plan on being adopted by Asians. I took Asian Studies and got an «A» but I’m no more culturally sensitive than a pair of chopsticks. So bear with me for being an ignoramus when it comes to Chinese food. But I do know better than to call this authentic. I do know better than to call this the best Asian food in San Diego. But this much I do know: this was, without a doubt, the best American-Chinese restaurant I’ve enjoyed in my 24 years of eating non-pre-digested food. The location was not entirely auspicious. Although a Friday night, like most of Bonsall the strip mall in which it is located was deader than a doornail. But my brother was demanding Chinese food and, to tell the truth, I was looking forward to it myself. So with an empty stomach we entered, and we were kind of taken aback by what we saw. A caucasian woman sporting a hairdo like something out of a silent movie was the seating hostess, and an elderly gentleman took to the piano to entertain us with his jazzy impressions of the Great American Songbook. The restaurant felt American, with its clean white tablecloths, booths, indirect lighting, cofferred ceiling, and quiet volume. But cultural anachronisms aside, what we were most shocked at was that this place was PACKED. And packed with all sorts of people — teenagers on dates, senior citizens, families… a whole cross section. The restaurant scarcely pretended to be Asian. Instead, it showed itself to be a true, American restaurant in form… complete with a full bar serving up 12 different variations on the lemon drop martini and a rather extensive wine list. You won’t get complimentary tea here, but frankly I don’t give a damn… the free stuff always tasted like hot water anyway. The menu is quintessential Americanized chinese fare and after a little debate we went for paper wrapped chicken and a bowl of wor wonton soup for the appetizers, noting the slightly steep price. When the food arrived, however, the steep price proved commensurate with the portion size. The bowl of soup is HUGE, and extremely hearty. The pork wontons were stuffed, and three or four of them pushes one dangerously close to the point of being full. Our entrees of cashew chicken(rich, aromatic, and loaded with much more chicken than cashew), mongolian beef(which possessed a smooth and slightly sweet sauce), and lemon chicken(all white meat, prepared as a breaded loaf, with a tangy sweet sauce) were similarly huge… Three of us could only polish off half of it, and we had enough for dinner the next night. This isn’t dim sum or whatever trendy culturally acceptable Asian meal that millennials are supposed to like — this is BIGFULLPLATESOFFOOD. And frankly, it’s what I wanted and it’s what I like best. So sue me. Service was very attentive if a bit lacking in personality. Our waitress was friendly but our water glasses stood empty more often than I like. As the night wore on, however, that became less noticeable. It’s rare that one comes across a meal that comes complete with a side dish of live music that is conversational and soothing in nature. Combined with the heaping servings of foodstuffs, food coma comes very quickly here. Loved it. Will be back.

Never been here before! Absolutely amazing. Our server as well as the bartender were both extremely friendly. We ordered pork potstickers which were awesome! Then we had the ma-la beef which was flavorful and the Peking DUK was great! Will definitely be back!

Omg!!! I can’t believe how yummy this place was. I still have been talking about the cream cheese wontons. I’ve referred many people here with no disappointment. I don’t do Chinese often. But I may have to change my thinking. I will be back. Service was awesome. Couldn’t believe how busy it was at 830 on s fri night. We never felt rushed, even though we were there past closing.

My fiancée and I are still exploring the area around Fallbrook ever since we moved here and figured we’d stop by this place to give it a go. We called-in ahead with reservations, being that it was a Friday evening, and that was a very smart move. The place was packed! This told me that it must be a popular spot for the locals and being in a prime location, we felt it safe in the shopping pavilion right next to the Sheriffs office. Parking was a bit tricky, but as I said, the area is safe :) Upon entering, we were greeted by smiles, an aquarium and live jazz music. That just sealed the deal! The décor was a nice mix of traditional Chinese culture and a hint of contemporary-modern touch. Our appetizers came promptly and the wine/martini selection was diverse and divine. The final test was the food, which did not fail! I completely loved the lemon chicken and it was prepared perfectly! I’ve finally found a place that cooks it how I like it! Yes, this place did NOT disappoint and my only recommendation is to make sure to call-head with reservations to avoid waiting. Amazing Chinese!!!

If you are in the area this should be a place to have dinner. So many great menu options. Scallops, fish, soups, pot stickers. I could go on. Martini’s. Crispy noodles. Okay I’m done.
