I haven’t eaten here since I was in school at App and it was good then. It is still awesome! The pasta and environment is great. The wait staff was very nice and they have a good beer and wine selection. I recommend it to anyone who likes Italian and is in the Boone area!

Make reservations a day ahead! We had to wait an hour and heard all these people coming in with reservations. They were super busy which made our waiter less attentive and food took awhile to come out. I ordered chicken parm. It was baked not fried so less crispy and not much pasta or sauce with it. Ok place but not worth $ 18 for chicken parm.

Ordered caprices salad, was not the best. The main course was excellent. My nephew enjoyed his meal, said there were way too many onions in it.

While the food was marvelous, our service lacked severely. There is too much to be said than to attempt to fit into a small tidbit here. Perhaps she was new and needed retraining? Perhaps the other server at the table next to us also needed retraining… Perhaps, I’ll just order take out next time.

I’ve actually been here twice, and each time, the food is fine, but I come back because of the spectacular live jazz on Thursday nights! This last time, I had the Chicken Picatta(with sautéed capers in a fresh lemon white wine sauce), and it had an odd flavor… not altogether unpleasant, but certainly not what I was used to. The caesar salad was very good, and the lemon layer cake was lovely. The live music is outstanding, and well worth coming back here time and again!

Stopped here on a whim & what a fantastic choice it was. Our waitress suggested the Saltimbocca Piemontese, which was beyond excellent. Also had the Caprese Salad, which had the best balsamic reduction I’ve ever tasted. Service was great!

My son and his fiancé decided they wanted a destination wedding in Boone in June. So that meant that I needed to find a place in Boone to host a Rehearsal Dinner for 60 – 65 people that also served vegetarian fare. I was in luck when I found that Casa Rustica has held many Rehearsal dinners at their restaurant. This is such a lovely, quaint place that has excellent food and drinks. My experience dealing with Kristie Matheson, the manager, was wonderful. She was always quick to answer my many emails and she gave me a price quote for the party that was very reasonable. We had a sit down dinner on June 12th, that consisted of appetizers, salad and dinner entrée with choice of vegetables. The entrée choices were Chicken Marsala, Spinach Lasagna and Eggplant bake. Each dish was delicious and no one left hungry. Everyone at our party just raved about the restaurant from the décor to the food and the wonderful service we received. Rick Pedrona, the owner of Casa Rustica was very hands on that night along with Kristie to make sure that we had an enjoyable evening and everything was to our satisfaction. It made our party feel that much better with all the special attention we received. While accommodating us, they were also able to seat and serve their regular guests in different areas of the restaurant. That just shows how organized they are in addition to the great food. I highly recommend going to Casa Rustica Restaurant and look forward to going back there for a regular dinner next time we’re in Boone. Thanks Rick, Kristie and the staff for making our event so special. Jill L.

A consistently good choice for a family friendly traditional Italian Restaurant. Dishes are well prepared and with generous portions. We always have some to take home. Make reservations when possible!

Quaint Italian restaurant. Great bread, great salad, but my chargrilled chicken alfredo was VERY char-tasting. Tasted like I was eating the scrapings off my BBQ grill grates. Sauce was good though. Hubby had Dijon chicken which was excellent. Great service. Even on a Sunday night I recommend getting a reservation.

My wife and I decided to try something new. I’m glad she saw this place on Unilocal. The restaurant was pretty busy on a Saturday night, but I tend to think that is proof of quality. We did make reservations, so we only had to wait a few minutes. We had the seafood alfredo and French onion soup. Both were delicious. We will certainly return. My only gripe was the tight parking lot.

I visited here for dinner on day 3 of a business trip and after having a couple of bad eating experiences so far. I was staying at the Fairfield Inn and asked the girl at the front desk for a dinner suggestion. I got here a little early, which was good since by the time I left around 730 the place was getting pretty full(which was surprising for a Tuesday night). I had the fried mozzarella for an appetizer. Delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken marsala. You can choose to have a pasta side, so I selected the penne. Apparently they put red sauce on the pasta and asked if I wanted it on the chicken marsala. Uh, NO. I just want the pasta under the chicken. No sauce. The waitress was extremely confused by this and asked if I wanted it on the side instead. I thought she was referring to the sauce so I said sure. Instead my pasta came on the side, which was fine, especially since I had to clarify a couple more times, NOSAUCE. Thankfully there was no sauce on my pasta. I got dessert to go — an almond amaretto slice of cake — which would have been good if it hadn’t been kind of hard/stale already. I don’t know if this was because I didn’t eat it immediately or if the cake had been sliced already in the back and was just sitting around, but the waitress had said it was very moist and light. This was not moist. I would visit again if I was in the mood for italian when in Boone. The service was also very good despite the waitress being very confused that I didn’t want sauce on my pasta.

In on a cold, slow Tuesday night. Seated and attended to quickly. Ordered linguine with marinara sauce, Italian sausage, peppers, and onions, plus, Caesar salad. Plus, Chanti special of the night. Salad dressing had very little taste. Not sure what was missing, but the normal tartness of a Caesar dressing was absent. Bread provided prior to the entrée was very good; served with oil and vinegar. Entrée was nothing special and suffered from too much marinara sauce. Sausage was tasteless, peppers and onions undercooked. This was a shame because the pasta was extremely good. With less sauce and better prepared toppings, this could have been an excellent meal. I probably wouldn’t seek out this restaurant again. However, I feel it wouldn’t take much to make this 3 star joint a 5 star.

This is my favorite restaurant in Boone. The telephone reservation was easy and polite. We were greeted warmly. The wait and server staff were professional, friendly and served our table of four perfectly. The dinners were excellent, hot and exactly as described in the menu or by the waiter. I had the chicken scampi and it was delicious grilled chicken, in a lemony, capered, white wine sauce over linguine and was delicious. The other diners were very satisfied with their dinners. The portions were generous with several people taking home portions. The bread served before and during the meal was hot and fresh with crispy crust. We had a delicious Fantini Sangiovese that was perfect with each plate. Ample, easy parking. The interior of the restaurant is rustic, with a large stone fireplace that warmed us, just looking at it.

My wife and I had taken a quick mountain getaway and we’re looking for local places to eat. This one had a lot of positive reviews, but we felt otherwise after dining there. Very mediocre experience overall. Our server was great; the atmosphere is an odd mashup of log cabin, stereotypical Italian décor, unrelated 20 year old paintings, and dark heavy old buffet furniture. Strange feeling. The food was unremarkable — honestly in the middle of not bad and not good. It reminded us of a place you would see appearing on Kitchen Nightmares — not because of terrible food, but because of the restaurant itself. Overall, not an unpleasant experience, but we wouldn’t recommend it to any friends.

Overall, very good experience. We had dinner on a Sunday night around 7pm. We were seated right away. The name fits, because it’s definitely a «rustic» atmosphere, but not in a bad way. Just a little over-priced for what you get. I had the NY Strip & my wife, whom is pescatarian(only eats fish, no other meats), had the salmon w/veggie lasagna. Everything tasted perfect & was cooked perfectly. Again, I would say just a little over priced. They’re trying to pull off a «fine dining» experience, but it falls just a little short of that. If they would only drop the prices to match the food & atmosphere, it would get the 5 stars.

Excellent food and service! My husband had the filet special with Pina sauce. He said it was the best sauce he had ever eaten. My food was equally delicious.

Were in town for a show at the Shaefer Center at App State. I think because of the show the places we wanted to eat at were all booked up, so went to Casa Rustica as a Plan C. I would characterize it as home style Italian cuisine in a rustic cabin like setting. It was«A-OK.» We began with a bottle of Riondo Prosecco, marked up 3x as expected. We shared the antipasto plate, which was huge — could not finish it. My wife had the manicotti and I had the chicken saltimboca, both of which were fine. We finished with the tiramisu, which was nice. Given the age of the waitstaff, I imagine there is an annual turnover there with«kids» coming on for the summer. So, the service was good and attentive, but not very polished, which sort of befits vacationing in Boone.

Have never had a good experience at this place. The food is sub-par and over priced. The service is hot or miss, usually you get a server who reads his note book for everything you ask. I asked for a recommendation since everything looked good and our server just read half the menu to us and didn’t explain what the food was like. It’s like telling someone«well we have steak, chicken, fish, pasta, salads, etc». I asked for your recommendation, not everything you serve.
