this place was awful. the wrap tasted like dog food with hot sauce on it. the bathrooms were very very dirty. # 2 on the floor!

I’m originally from Clifton so I have been going to that location for years and love their wings. I did not however love the cramped and tight space. This location is more spacious so I definitely felt more comfortable here. They had large TV screens and some games and a photo booth to distract the kids. A fan of the wings — love that you can add fresh garlic too. Everything else fell short. Oysters — not that great. Lobster bisque — disappointing — could barely taste the lobster, no chunks or anything. Came on a Sunday and they had some beer specials and Bloody Marys for $ 5 each. Friendly service. Decent spot to grab a beer and some good wings.

I usually go to Sharky’s to watch a game, have some beers with friends and eat some wings. It’s so close and convenient it is just our goto spot. Needless to say… I have been there many, many times. The beer is alway ice cold which is great and I am a big fan of the Old Bay wings. The rest of the food is okay… Not bad, not good… Okay. The cold beer, old bay wings and location keep us going. The two BIG detractors… The Manager is awful. She is just a mean, grumpy person. How she is the manager(which is a people person position) is beyond me, she must be related to the owner. The second thing is the Sharky’s «smell». Anybody who has been here knows what I mean. You leave smelling like fried food. They attempted to fix this by removing the rugs and must have changed the ventilation somehow. It worked for about a month and returned. I think they just don’t change the filters on the ventilation. These are both big issues for me. If I didn’t like the wings so much I would not go back.

Worst wings I’ve ever had. Over cooked and very dry. The country fries were good. The others in my group had the seafood bucket which looks like a great deal. They are enjoying the seafood more than I enjoyed the wings. Hooters makes the best wings.

I’ve only taken out here, and strictly when my family is craving wings. I just wish they were better. The variety is nice, and some are decent. But what I assume to be the most popular, buffalo(mild, medium, hot, etc.), just isn’t very good. At least not tonight. Dissappointing.

We stopped in here to grab some wings and other pubfood to bring home. We ordered and had a beer at the bar while we were waiting for our food. Now, it’s our own fault for walking into a sports bar during a football game, we should have known it would be pretty packed at the bar and very loud. As we sat and had 2 drinks each over the course of an hour, we watched a guy wandering around the entire place with a white plastic bag in his hands. I figured he was just a confused patron who had one beer too many and was bringing his leftovers home since he wasn’t talking to anyone or asking questions at any tables… Once we finished the second beer, my partner inquired about what was taking our food so long to come out as we were starving by this point, and of course, the wandering bag guy was an employee walking in circles with our food. How does that even happen? I’m laughing about it now, but I don’t think I’ll come here again unless I end up standing in front of it needing a drink. The food was just okay.

Average, overpriced food. The service is always slow. Pay close attention to what you are ordering. They advertise some great deals, but don’t specify when those deals are in effect. If you bring this to the attention of management, they become confrontational. Plenty of other excellent restaurants in Boonton, don’t waste your time or money at Sharky’s.

4 starts for food and service. 0 starts for the HORRIBLE manager. I went to a friend’s birthday dinner at Sharky’s and spent over $ 350. There was a flip book of drink deals on the table. One page read $ 3 house wines. Two of the girls had two glasses each. The bill listed them as $ 7 per glass. We politely pointed the billing errors out to the waiter. The bill was only off by $ 16 which we wouldn’t have noticed, but the 18% group gratuity added onto the bill caught our attention and made us read in more detail. He went to speak with his manager. She made us wait 20 minutes only to come over and argue with us over the $ 16. We were ready to give up after 5 min, but she had our bill. The foundation of her argument was that the $ 3 wine deal was on the back of a card that advertised for happy hour. We pulled out the«card» in front of her to show her that it was, in fact, two unattached and unrelated cards. That’s when her credibility started to crumble. Then she desperately bluffed with the following.“everyone knows that wine is only $ 3 during our happy hour, it’s on the menus, and it’s on the sign outside”. Not having lived in Boonton since this was called the Boonton Avenue Grill, we begrudgingly her word for it(and wanted to get to Johnny’s asap). On the way out we grabbed a menu and looked at the sign… surprise! Not listed on EITHERONE. So w/e. eat there if you want. Just know your money is going to her. For all the aspiring future managers reading this, don’t let $ 16 be the reason for chasing away 10 locals/potential repeat customers.

Normally a 3 star local spot for decent wings and cheap beer/clams; however last night things turned south for me. Our waiter was the biggest doofus on the planet– imagine the 30 year old Virgin meets an annoying countdown radio host from the 90s. But let’s move past the prude dude from saved by the bell and focus on the ribs. Folks do not order the ribs at sharkeys. $ 19 never to be seen again. The waiter goes to kitchen and says«I need a rack of ribs!» The cook replies«ok someone run to AP and grab some hunts BBQ sauce and the cheapest rack they have.». And there you have it folks. A large plate of cheap rotting flesh smothered in store brand sauce. Ive enjoyed McRib sandwiches and ribs at tgi Fridays more than this junk. Never have I complained about too much food on my plate but a true rack of baby backs should be easily cleared by a man of my appetite. Throw in some mayo drowned slaw and French fries and you have ruined my whole f’n weekend. I’ll be back sharkeys but no longer need a menu– I’ll have the wings and a beer you bastards.

We went to Sharky’s West wanting to make it our new local dive; hoping to find a decent selection of beers and ales, good pub grub and average out for a mid-week dinner pricing. After our visit, I will say there are a few dive bars that are closer to home, I would not eat the food here again if they paid ME to do it, but I will give them the prices were reasonable. I ordered the French Onion soup as my starter. I ADORE French Onion soup, and am on a quest to find the one place that can make it better than I do at home, and I will lay my ladle down forever(g). Sharky’s French onion, however, tastes as if they sauteed some onions, poured a few fistfuls of salt over it, then soaked it in beef bouillon cubes. The only bit worth eating was the melted cheese on the top. For my main, I ordered raw oysters. I ate one — and it was off. Thinking that it may have just been the one, I tried one more before deciding that this was not a good idea, unless I wanted to make myself ill. I will give them, our waitress was very good about taking back the order; she was very apologetic and took the order off of our tab without even being asked to do so. The husband had been looking forward to Sharky’s to try their lobster roll sandwich. He fell in love with this sandwich on a trip to Cape Cod a few years ago, and we have been trying to find a local place that could possibly come close… well, Sharky’s is NOT the place. The lobster meat is served hot, with melted butter over a toasted hotdog bun. First thought: WTF??? This sandwich should be served cold, with the meat tossed in mayo and garnished with lettuce and tomato on a big hoagie or bun. As the price of their lobster roll is not listed on the menu, we expected a huge, expensive sandwich — and would have been happy to pay whatever they asked had it been worth it. We were relieved that it was only $ 14.95; which is pretty fair for the amount of chopped up lobster meat that was served. Their lobster roll is also accompanied by pierogies — an odd combo, but they were apparently decent according to Himself! Cannot recommend. Totally disappointed.

There aren’t many sports bars in the area but a friend and I decided to check out the NBA Finals here one night. The audio was provided for the game but instead it was 80’s music playing so it wasn’t exactly the atmosphere we were aiming towards. Everyone at the bar was clearly there to watch the NBA Finals yet they still kept women’s softball and a random soccer match on some of the TV’s despite being asked to change. They do have a good selection of beers and we didn’t go to eat but if you’re looking for a true sports bar, consider going somewhere else.

Went here on a Saturday night and it was packed. The dining area and the bar area was completely full, but there was a back dining area where we were seated within fifteen minutes. For the amount of customers that night, the service was very good. The hot-garlic wings were very good, steak fries were tasty, but the peel & eat shrimp in Old Bay and butter were great! For a bar with plenty of tap lines, I expected them to have a better variety of craft beer. Overall, we had a very good experience. The food is very reasonable and if you take advantage of their specialties and happy hour deals, then it’ll be easy on your wallet.

4 stars for a quick easy friendly sports bar with 1.50 happy hour coors lights and some video games for the kiddies. Heard the seafood is great but still have to give it a try. the wings, steamers and wraps were all very good!

After a couple more visits, I’m upgrading to a 4 star(using my complex & highly scientific review formula…;)). Last night we went there & the place was PACKED but they quickly found us a table. We had drunken mussels(tasty but some of the mussels were pretty puny), steamed shrimps(good but a little overcooked) and tenders(got 10 but 5 would have been enough!). The service has been good the past few visits. I always try to review based on reasonable expectations for they type of business(i.e. I wouldn’t try to compare a cheap hole-in-the-wall place with a Michelin starred restaurant) but Sharky’s still confuses me somewhat. There’s quite a «chainy» sports bar feel to the place, with laminated menus & bucket of beer drink specials, and yet they have a well stocked bar with good craft beer options. The food is very good compared with your average chains but I do feel there’s room for improvement to bring them up to their potential. We’ll be back for sure

If you like shellfish and live in the Montville then you have to try Sharky’s West in Boonton. It’s located off Main Street on 108 Boonton Ave, Boonton, NJ. We have been there a few times for their Clam Bake which consists of 1 ¼ pound lobster, 1 pound of snow crab legs, ¼ pound of large shrimp, mussles and steamers. There is enough food that you can really share it with someone. However, do NOT dress up unless you want to bring your clothes to the cleaners the next day. It can be messy with all the cracking of the shells. lol Also, there are coupons that you get in the mail where you can get the Clam Bake for $ 22.95(I believe) on Mondays and Tuesdays and on Wednesdays they have a Special price on it as well. If you like wings, you will be in heaven. They must have a dozen different sauces and spices that will make it hard to decide. The Thai Chili is new and we really like it. They have specials on wings and drinks all the time. If you have children, no need to worry. It’s kid friendly with games and a childrens menu.

Ate here on Saturday night and the food was decent. Boom boom shrimp and fried pickles as appetizers and a turkey reuben for dinner. The waitress was kind of flaky. She didn’t have any of the specials memorized and just told us to look at what the guy next to us was eating… ummmmmm ok… the food also came out way too quickly after the apps and the dessert menu pages were all stuck together so we didn’t bother to look at it. ICK. My boyfriend and I decided to come back on Sunday to grab a bloody mary and watch football. We got up to the bar and there were two empty seats and an empty table top. We were told we couldn’t sit because the seats were reserved. Seriously??? I’ve never heard of a bar doing this. They completely lost our business. I didn’t realize empty seats make money…

Here is a copy of a recent email sent to management of sharky’s in boonton complaining about recent customer service: My wife and I are frequent patrons of sharks in boonton. We live in montville, Sharks is very convenient for us. Sunday at 11:30am I tried to place an order for pickup of 50 wings. When I asked if I could have 35 hot and 15 medium. I was told no. I’m ok if that was your policy. The response from the women in the phone is what bothered me. The response wasn’t I’m sorry, but unfortunately we cannot split the order. Most rational people would have no problem with that response. The response I received was an abrasive«NO». She sounded angry that I even asked the question. With so many other options out there, customer service should be the main focus of any small business. I just wanted you to know my experience and let you know how your employee’s can very negatively affect your business just by a simple phone call. My family will not be visiting sharkys anytime in the foreseeable future.

A great menu with good food. Pretty pricey though. Good place to hang and watch the games, since they have TVs everywhere. Weird that it was a bit empty on a Sunday night though.

I really only ever eat the wings here as I will get a hankering for Old Bay seasoning(which sounds weird). They do have 24 beers on tap which and a knowledgable craft beer bartender. Bring quarters as there are parking meters all around.

A lot has changed. Fortunately, the wings are still as good as ever. Here’s a rundown: * Garlic: Lots of tiny shredded pieces instead of the big chunks. Somehow results in less flavor. I’ve stopped ordering it. * Service: Slower. There’s one guy who’s really good, but the rest, eh. * Price: Expensive. Reasonable in the scheme of restaurants overall, but way too much for a bar. Desserts are out of reach — $ 6? Where are the $ 4 choices? You get much more at a diner for much less. * Happy hour used to be 4 – 7 and 8 – 12. Now it’s 4 – 7 and 10 – 12. I’m not going over there to watch Monday or Thursday Night Football if I have to spend a half waiting for specials to kick in. * Beer selection has improved. But you pay for it. 5 stars is my «go whenever I can» rating. I don’t do that. 4 stars is my «recommend to friends» rating. I don’t even do that. So it’s 3 stars. I’ll go, especially for the wings, but I’m kinda turned off from it. I hope Sharky’s East remains cheap with a longer happy hour. I’ll take less beer selection for the neighborhood bar ambiance.
