This is a super find in Boothbay. I highly recommend you stop and buy some wine, and sandwiches for an afternoon picnic. The selection is fantastic and the owner is one of the most charming individuals in Maine. Guaranteed good food and a lot of smiles.

My boyfriend and I have been staying in town for the week and we stumbled across this place while trying to find lunch. I called ahead to ask if they had vegetarian options and the owner was so friendly. She gave me multiple choices and I could tell she was looking at her selection trying to find options for me. We gave it a try, and we are so happy we did. She was so personable and friendly. The kind of owner you know puts 110% into her service because she loves her business and wants to make sure her customers are happy. We ended up getting a couple sandwiches, some awesome coffee & tea, homemade cookies and this dessert she made up from strawberry scones that was turned into a bread pudding type dish. She packed it to go and gave me a generous amount of maple syrup and instructions on how to heat when I got home. I live about 30 minutes away normally, and I can definitely see myself making the trip to come more often. 5 stars hands down.

My husband and I found this place serendipitously — it was one of those stormy/rainy days and we decided to get some coffee in town and wandered into Capers Café. The coffee was great, but even better was the fantastic and personal customer service. This is exactly how a restaurant should operate. After sitting there a while sipping our coffees, we decided to order some lunch. I got the special — a crab quiche with a spaghetti squash crust(meant for the gluten-free crowd, I’m not one of them though) and it was absolutely delicious — not only was it a nice break from all the lobster rolls I had been eating, but it was probably one of my best and most memorable meals of our entire vacation. I highly recommend this gem of a place. I wish the owners much success and I hope to see this place thriving when we return for our annual Boothbay vacation next summer.

Stopped in yesterday for sandwiches and they were awesome!!! Fresh, full of flavor and well priced. The girls working there were friendly, helpful and adorable! Far better than a regular deli!

What a great find. The food is great, we stay out at Spruce Point and love to take food back for a picnic. Quiche was fabulous, and the broccoli salad was as good as the one I make(!!) More than that, the service is personal and the owner and her co-worker were delightful. We chatted for awhile, it’s easy to see this place is a labor of love. Our first dip in, we were looking for pie and coffee… they steered us to the Ebb Tide, down the street, which is a perfect kitschy place for a mid-afternoon respite. When we finished milling through shops, we returned to Capers to find some goodies. The wine selection, as well as the beer stock are well-thought out and plentiful. Most important, some very good wines with twist-off caps, great for a picnic! We had a lovely time there, would go back for lunch sometime when we are back in town. Most of all, we wish them well. It’s great to see business owners understand the importance of good customer service. We are tourists, rather than locals, the bedrock of most businesses in Boothbay Harbor, and this shop caters to both, with equal enthusiasm! Good luck to the new business owners, hope to see you next year!!!
