We didn’t come at a busy time, it was between 4 and 5. The service was good, quick and friendly. The food was awesome! We had the crab cakes to start and they were spot on! I had the Lobster Chicken Bomb… not something that I would normally have, but so glad that I did! No idea that it would taste as good as it did! My husband had the Lobster Pasta and it was equally as good. Can’t speak to the service when they are busy as discussed in other reviews, but our experience was GREAT! Oh and dinner was on the water!

Just had the Lobster Alfredo. It was absolutely amazing! I full recommend full lobster and not half. Full gives you plenty of meat. My wife had the Lobester Chicken Bomb. Another fantastic meal! The service was excellent for us but we also had an early dinner. Would for sure come back!

Wonderful spot. Friendly Bartender Michelle who makes a killer Bloody Mary with homemade mix. Excellent blackened haddock taco with all the amenities. Great chili too. Hit the spot on a cold blustery day.

Another Boothbay classic… good food, dependable, nice atmosphere. A bit higher priced, but you won’t feel that you’ve been ripped off as portions are generous and food is fresh here. Service can be a bit pokey at times, but friendly. Overall would recommend McSeagull’s and I will certainly return for future visits.

Came here for dinner one night. I ordered a lobster chowder and had a jalapeño drink. My drink was gross but my chowder was delicious! The service was good and the view was nice. The restaurant is located near a marina so you get to look a really large yachts while eating dinner. The price was reasonable for dinner and for lobster. The food came quickly and was fresh.

Eat on the deck while you enjoy the view of the harbor while sipping a cocktail. Menu is pretty varied so something for everyone. Casual dining right in the center of the area with the best shops. Price range varies depending on what you get.

Let me start that I have yet to eat here. I was going to do take out. Their online menus is apparently out of date. They had zero oysters of any kind in their restaurant. Umm what? You menu shows oysters and Glidden point is only 4 miles away. Tons of other places have oysters on the half shell and other preparations. Not a single fried oyster to be found. Web maintenance is very important to out of towners, which I am not. If I can’t figure out what’s current how can you cater to the out of towners that is everyone’s bread and butter come spring and summer?

Eh, is about all I can say for this place. The food was fine, but it’s one of those places that sprinkles ridiculous amounts of parsley and garnish all over the plates. The beer selection was decent and they were able to accommodate a gluten allergy, so it wasn’t all bad. The location is perfect and the view is nice from certain tables.

We had a really great experience here one late summer night in August. The deck is prime location, overlooking the water, the service from Leah was OUTSTANDING, the drinks were yum, and the food was delicious. We were fans. We started with an order of nachos to share between four of us– well with the help from everyone, we couldn’t even finish them. I do believe it was the biggest plate of nachos we had seen, and we have eaten A LOT of nachos. They were really good and full of lots of veggies, which I dig. Tomatoes, zucchini, squash, broccoli, beans, onions, and probably 5 pounds of cheese, which is my dream. Leah hooked it up with plenty of salsa and sour cream, because we are fiends. We tried to stop eating them as we were already full and had actual meals on the way, but it’s hard to stop sometimes. Nachos may be my weakness. I ordered the fried haddock sandwich for my meal, as I had not had one in over a year, not living in Maine anymore. I forgot how much I love fried haddock sandwiches and the simplicity of them, yet the deliciousness of them is through the roof. This one was AWESOME. It was a really good size, cooked perfectly, came on a great toasted bun and I chose fries as my side, with dipping sauce. I asked for a dipping sauce or two, she brought 5. Now, THAT is my type of server. I may have mentioned this once or twice before in my life, but condiments are literally my best friend. And so when I ask for a sauce, and get 5, well I may as well asked her to marry me. A few were interesting too– a cranberry thick something sauce, a chipotle red pepper sauce, and I think maybe a garlic mayo. It’s been a while since, so my memory may be a little jaded. My other friend got the fish tacos, which she loved, and my other pals also got haddock sandwiches. Everything was super yummie and the view was great too. I also had a DELICIOUS drink: the harbor sidecar. Usually, I’m not one for vodka, but this sounded so good, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. It was grapefruit and jalapeño vodka, triple sec, lime juice, OJ, and a salted rim– a vodka take on a margarita. Good choice. This place was super great and an excellent pre-meal to our wonderful show put on by The Nth Power next door afterward.

Serviceable food and decent service are secondary to the view from the deck in busy Boothbay Harbor. We had a decent haddock sandwich with onion rings. Also the appetizer special of melted cheese, spinach, and a few pieces of lobster, served with tortilla chips. That was okay, a bit salty. Drinks included a Maine Mule(Maine blueberry vodka with ginger beer) that was good, not great. Request a seat outside, have a drink, have another one, and just relax, it’s an okay spot in a beautiful town.

Went back in 2015, different menu. Food wasn’t as good as in previous years and fewer options. Calamari swimming in oil, chicken was grilled dry, generally average fare. There are better lobster rolls in town. Pro: I still like the view and outdoor seating. They have Boothbay Brewing beer on tap(only one though). Con: It’s kind of dirty now, food is below average for the price.

We stopped by here for a small lunch. We got seated on their deck, which is a pretty nice view(the water). We ordered the chicken quesadilla, cup of clam chowder and mild buffalo tenders. The cup of clam chowder was so good, I decided to order one more! Must try! Very tasty! The chicken quesadilla was pretty delicious! Filled with cheese, chicken, tomatoes, corn and black beans. They served sour cream, salsa and rice on the side. The buffalo tenders are alright, they were a bit dry. We ordered from the appetizers but we would definitely come back to try their entrees! The service was pretty decent, my waiter could’ve been a little more lively!

Pretty good. Service slow but seafood platter pretty good. Shrimp, scallops and clams were yummy, the fish in the other hand was just ok. Breading was nice and light Atmosphere was fabulous outside which helped give this 4 stars full moon helped and we had a beautiful ocean view. There was music inside that we could hear but was not too loud

Sit up at bar on deck and enjoy the calamari, pizza or salad with scallops. All good but ask for itemized check. Two days in a row overcharged.

I came here for the second time. I’d been here on our previous trip to Maine. The dinner was wonderful this year! I enjoyed it so much! We had fried calamari appetizer and it came with three great dipping sauce. My clam chowder was some of the best I’ve had in Maine. I LOVED my teriyaki sesame crusted tuna it was delicious! My friend had the salmon with black beans and rice and I took a bite, that too was phenomenal. TIP: ORDERITRAREFORTHEBESTTASTE. Our first year we didn’t know and we ordered it medium-well and it did not have much flavor. The service was great and we enjoyed our night :)

Don’t listen to the negative reviewers — this place is awesome! McSeagull’s is a fresh-from-the-water sort of seafood joint, but not an especially fancy one. A lot of the seafood is fried, and the food is generally served with fries and slaw — meaning this is definitely more of a casual place than formal dining. Of course, for what it’s worth, this joint does casual well, and it’s a breath of fresh air for the area. We dined in the upstairs and enjoyed it quite a bit, though we honestly thought we heard a goat or something. Must have been a fluke. The outside deck looked particularly nice, and I imagine it’d be quite nice when the weather is good. The food is quite good for what it is, and I have no complaints. I had the flame grilled Catch of the Day, which was awesome. The service was also good. I know there are a lot of naysayers on here, but I can only imagine those were off days for McSeagull’s — my experience was pleasant.

This is where you go to get a blend of tourist and local. Right in the heart of downtown BBH on Pier 1, their location really can’t get much better. Just as you walk in, there’s the main bar to your left with plenty of seating, along with a loung area with tables as well and two giant flat screens on the wall. To the right is their main dining area that extends upstairs along with outside on the main deck, which also has a large bar and sits above the harbor. The deck is covered so rain or shine, it’s always a pleasant dining experience. Most of the wait staff is there year round and has been there for years — so they know the menu in and out, along with any touristy questions about the area + surrounding destination points. Being local and friendly with the staff, I think my perspective on the place a bit biased, but it’s definitely one of the best, local, watering holes(fantastic pours),(My number 1 is Pier 1 Pub, right across the pier). We usually head to McSeagulls after the sunday night reggae cruise around the harbor for a solid dish of loaded nachos that will feed about 4 people. They have wonderful, live bands that play from thursday nights thru the weekend. The menu isn’t inexpensive, but no more expensive than a regular restaurant trying to make a living on a short summer season in a small town. I’d aim for one entrée + two drinks, around 25 dollars total. Guaranteed to pick up some local lingo & gossip if you stop in :)
