My wet burrito was really good. I gave it two stars because it took them 45 minutes for them to take our order, and two of us got food poisoning since they had gotten the same dish. Complimentary chips and salsa were great. Everyone was really friendly. What we wanted to be a quick bite to eat turned out to be a two hour affair. Bathrooms are kind of scary. Cool patio area.

I was so surprised with how good the food was here. I was with my two granddaughters, and one of them ordered the cheese omelette which comes with refried beans, roasted potato squares, and warm tortillas. The older girl chose to share a beef taco salad with me. The younger girl loved her meal, which her sister made into a breakfast burrito for her, but she is really tiny and couldn’t finish it all. The older girl helped, and they both begged me to take them back the next day so they could both have it again. I did, and they repeated their dish, and I had the Tostada Grande, which has chicken, and lots of guacamole and sour cream as a dressing on top of the poultry, beans, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, etc. It was all delicious, and our host, whom I think was the owner, was very friendly and gracious. Everyone had a happy experience!

Have been coming to Pablito’s for years on our annual trek to Borrego. Each year this restaurant gets worse. We there on a Saturday night at 6:00 pm during the circle of art festival and only three other tables were seated. The customer service was terrible, and the food was blah. Don’t know what happened to this once favorite Mexican restaurant, but it has gone down hill and doubt I will be back. It’s unfortunate!

2÷28÷2016 Visited. As locals this is another of Borrego Springs local restaurants. A nice place with a large patio and A Great Selection of Flavored Margaritas. The Corona beer is nice and frosty cold which is great in this hot desert atmosphere. The food is not bad although it’s not extremely traditional. The prices are more than fair for a Mexican restaurant in Southern California. $ 9.95 to $ 14.95 per Entrée. Most in the $ 11.95 range. The service is a little confused in that some of the staff don’t remember everyone’s orders. On this night fortunately the owner Mr Pablito was there to take our order himself. Great meeting him. Sitting on the patio is the way to go. All in all I give this place a solid 3 ½ stars.

The food was great. The atmosphere was great, the server was great. No kidding. I was leary at first because it was empty but people did trickle in while we ate. Really good!

Cute little Mexican restaurant in the middle of town. Sit on the patio for nice ambiance. Meal was delicious and very filling. Food prices were good and service was very nice. I would return.

We were driving to Anza Borrego state park and discovered we were hungry. We stopped at Pablito’s and had a great lunch. Staff was friendly, restaurant was clean, and food was very good.

Horrible pile of mush that tries to pass as Mexican food. I can’t speak to the drinks since we had none. Staff was very nice, but their great service cannot make up for the bland and forgettable dinner we had.

Love this place. Food is excellent, margaritas are the best and the service is fast and friendly. Steak fajitas have excellent seasoning, we usually split a plate. Love the refrained beans, flour tortillas and the burritos. Best Mexican restaurant in Borrego and we’ve been to them all.

A group of 15 decided to go to lunch, spur of the moment. No problem for Pablitos. Although there many other patrons, they took good care of us. The food was quite good — the group ran the gamut from fajitas to salads to combination meals. Everyone was pleased with what they had. Personally, I had the taco salad and it was served in a tortilla shell that was so light and crispy that I could have had that by itself and been happy. But then I would have missed out on the guacamole and other fillings… Would have preferred shredded beed to the hamburger meat but it was good and the menu told me that it would be ground beef so I wasn’t surprised. The hit of the meal were the margaritas. Between us, we had raspberry, blue Cadillac, and mango margaritas and we couldn’t decide on a fav — they were all terrific! Flanked by the endless chips & salsa(very good salsa, I should add), this was a meal we will return for.

Food was fast, tasted just as good as most Mexican restaurants and the waitress was nice. Can recommend when you want Mexican food.

Wow! This might be the best Mexican food we’ve had in SoCA! Great atmosphere, the shrimp ceviche, fish tacos, and enchiladas were all excellent. In fact we’re changing our travel plans to eat here one more time before leaving Borrego Springs. Now I’m off to find a tree to lay under for a siesta. Oh, by the way, they are closing for the hot summer. After June 1st you’ll have to wait for the colder weather to enjoy this place.

Poor service, had to wait half an hour to get an order placed and a beer brought to the table. Food quality is below average for a sit down Mexican restaurant. This whole area has a slowness to it which is very irritating, no one on the patio was getting attention. They have a bunch of bus boys clearing dishes and only a few servers. I will not be back, two stars :(

It’s clean, smells good from the moment you walk in the door, and serves tasty Mexican food. I had the enchiladas suizas, which was delicious and served in generous portion. The music was kept to a good background level, so conversation was easy. Bottom line is good, casual dining at a very reasonable price. Excellent balance for a casual meal.

Strange, but this place has been around at this location for a long time… anyway, we love coming here but on the weekend it fills up. Chicken tostado is excellent as are the chili rellenos! Always look forward to eating here at least once when we come to the desert!

They gave us free chips and salsa while we waited with our to-go order which was solid. Thanks!

We had dinner here a couple of days ago when camping in Borrego Springs over New Years. My wife and I both ordered two beef taco a la carte, I asked for Guacamole on mine, we had one dink each… a Coors Light and a Diet coke. The tacos had only beef inside the taco shell… then they were laid flat on the dish and lettuce, Pico de Gallo and a little cheese, then Salsa poured over the top. You had to pick up the taco… with Salsa all over the outside of it… then stuff the makings in off of the plate. The Guacamole was served in a small bowl, not as a side on the plate or in the tacos. It was the worst dining experience I’ve had in a restaurant in years. The tacos were mediocre at best … after stuffing them… and your hands were a mess covered in Salsa. The coup de gras … the bill was $ 28.10… for 4 tacos, one beer, and one diet coke. We will never go back. Service was slow… but ok… … Beer was Ice Cold and great… atmosphere cute… food ridiculous and price ridiculous. The rest of the week we ate in the Mexican Restaurant across the street in the Mall… was much better. that one is Camelita’s… better food… less money… better service.

I WAS in the area, so I stopped by. I re read my old review and can report that a lick of paint has been applied and the inside is now very smart. The service was excellent and the food still good. I liked the salsa here. Very relaxing and the shaded patio so suitable here. Glad I came back.
