Interior here is eclectic/minimalistic with perfect lighting. The bar is more quiet and suitable to hold converation than Citybar next door. Never been a disappointment for dinner or late-night-drinks. Cheese plate is perfectly put together(looked allover for the THIN crispy, fluffy and zesty crackers served with it).

cozy room. The Bourbon infused with fig and vanilla was a standout as was their creative take on a sushi app. Overall very enjoyable.

On the recommendation of one of the Boston Unilocalers(thanks Lynda M!), my wife and I had breakfast here a couple times during our recent vacation. She’s vegetarian and was able to get a pretty good veggie omelet. The fresh berries on the Belgian waffle were perfectly ripe. Coffee was pretty good too. A bit pricey for breakfast but it was definitely worth it. I wish I had time to back and try the bar. I saw a decent selection of Scotch.

My boyfriend and I had a seriously amazing dining experience here, which surprised me, having just returned from a trip to Italy! We had to eat VERY early, since we were going to the DMB show at Fenway later that night but it started filling in as early as 7. The atmosphere is very nice and the service excellent. We got a bottle of red wine for a reasonable $ 36, which is important only because the waiter impressed me tremendously when he recommended this over a second more expensive red we’d chosen. We got the duck confit spring rolls to start which were delicious! I had the bell and evans half chicken with risotto(and can’t wait to have it again) and my bf had the T-Bone steak, which was cooked perfectly. The white asparagus was lackluster though. Grilling killed it. All in all, one of the better Boston dining experiences. Wish I’d tried the crème brûlée.

Dimly lit and pretty serious. It’s like an ad in Wallpaper Magazine. Totally worth it during Restaurant Week.

I went here for brunch yesterday(a Saturday) with two friends. We had a good time. The menu has the typical brunch fare — nothing too out of the ordinary — one friend and I both had the Azure benedict(crab cakes), and the other friend had a bacon and cheese omelette. The food was good, but not cheap. Then again, this is Back Bay, next to the Pru, and in a hotel. Still, $ 4 for a tiny cup of juice? I could have done without the juice, but the food was good. The hollandaise was not overbearing, and what was slightly different was that the english muffin was on the side, not under the crabcakes and eggs. I’d go back when I feel like spending $ 20 on brunch… one of these days, I’m actually going to convince someone that we should go to Masa for brunch to try the brunch fiesta menu… I can’t believe I’ve been there for everything but brunch!

My boyfriend and I went here last night. I ended up getting the seared long island duck breast and my boyfriend got the wolfe’s neck filet mignon. In complete honesty, the duck was a little strong on first bite; however, it definitely got a lot better — by the end I have to say I was very enamored with it. My boyfriend’s filet mignon was good, but not the best I’ve had. However, they did bring out the bread bowl with a nice assortment of spreads. We also got the vanilla crème brûlée which was decent, but not the best I’ve had. The atmosphere was great, the waitstaff was very attentive in a non-overbearing sort of way, they did honor our $ 25 gift certificate, and they don’t card too much. Overall, the experience itself was well worth it.

My dining partner has the following to say: yeah not going to lie my stomach is still filled to the brim not in a good way though like in a… stuffed too much… blah… greasy. blah We ordered a medium-rare Kobe beef burger [mediocre-sized, subpar-taste] each and a Maine lobster and Serrano ham mac-and-cheese [comfort food =] to share. I always thought Kobe beef burgers were supposed to be «melt-in-your-mouth tender.» Maybe Azure forgot they were serving Kobe beef, but I’m pretty sure your dad can grill up juicier, more flavorful burgers. Although the décor was nice [pretty bar] and combined nicely to create a hushed ambiance, some of the tables were super-awkwardly placed [there was a 4-table standing lone guard, making sure no one snuck up on the hostesses, and in a position to tackle everyone who came in/out!]. Service was okay at best; a lot of staff, but half of them seemed nervous or working their first shift ever — we had to ask for our bread, and several of the staff liked to blab on and on about how sorry they were -.-;; And this place carded way too much. Edit: Just to further show my distaste for this place, I had to add that their bread sucked. And [pet peeve] spreading cold butter … on a cold, hard roll? Not fun. :’( Redeeming feature? Nice bathrooms in the Lenox. :P

I came with a few of my friends for restaurant week, so I’m not sure if my opinion really matters on this. But I’m assuming since the menu for restaurant week features the restaurant’s specials… that it should be a good representation of the restaurant itself. Anyways, before I blab any longer – appetizer…I got mussels in red curry. MmMmM Mussels were good but kinda small… this made me kinda full-ish and I was already satisfied with my meal. For my entrée… I got a nice steak… medium rare – MMMMM it was delicious! You would think that because the portions are so small that you wouldn’t be full… but suprisingly, halfway through my entrée, I didn’t want to finish it anymore because I was so full =[. But still good enough that I cleaned my plate. The real disappointment for me was the dessert. I ordered a blueberry ricotta cake. HMMM… it was… okay. But only okay at the best. I didn’t even bother finishing it. I tasted my friends’ double chocolate crème brûlée. which was just too thick and they didn’t even finish half of it. The service is good and consistent… but around the end of the meal, my friends were getting impatient and started waving down our server to give us change for our check. The restaurant is quite pricey… but it wasn’t completely worth it. I actually wanna give this rating an additional half star, but there’s no such thing here. =[ All in all… a good place to go to… when you’re rich and on a dinner date right after you get out of work. Nice. I’m writing this half-asleep so I’m sorry for some of my incoherence =\

I went to Azure during Restaurant Week this year w/a bunch of coworkers. We sat in a private dining area, which was great(b/c really, who wants to listen to 15 women talk over dinner??). Their RW menu was surprisingly lengthy – 5−6 choices for each course. I ordered the beet & goat cheese salad to start, and loved it. It’s not a hard salad to create, but I was happy nonetheless. I chose the monkfish as my entrée, and think I totally made out best at the table. It was delicious. It was served in a spicy tomato broth with fingerling potatoes and chorizo – really tasty. Others had the trout(mixed reviews), flank steak(good), and the veggie lasagna(good also). The service was good, I think 2 people waited on us. They were always around when we needed something, and not intrusive or hovering. I think I’d definitely go back when it’s not RW also, and with a smaller group, to see how«regular» dining would be.

There is always one thing that sticks with me the following day after a dinner out. At Azure it was the waiter, he was a darlin. The service was great. The food I will not remember. Nothing bad, just nothing memorable. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I ordered the special which was sole stuffed with mint pesto. It sounded really good, but I couldn’t really taste the mint pesto. There were some interesting sounding items on the menu, so maybe if I go back someday I will order differently.

We went to Azure last night as part of Restaurant Week and really enjoyed ourselves. The drink menu is killer — a lot of good options. They had a 7 – 8 choices on both the apps/entrees menu, which is significantly more than most RW participants. Service was very good… we stumbled our way through the drink choices and our waitress was friendly and patient to a fault. I’ll go back. NB: They serve ice-cold Pabst Blue Ribbon from this ultra chic bar.

We went there for drinks not dinner. This a good place to have conversation with people that you came with(date or friends). The guests there were either couples or in small groups. One one my huge peeves at a bar, especially an upscale bar, is when the bar staff is not alert. I expect to be acknowledged in some way, shape or form even though they may be busy. I HATE it when they keep their backs turned or are in a conversation for extended periods of time. When you’re waiting for a drink, it gets very annoying. So that was the case here. The bar back was also staring right at me and didn’t hint at all that he wasn’t a bartender or who I should be looking for. Someone who didn’t know that would have been pissed. So they are forgiven after I was made an excellent vojito(mojito sub vodka). I chilled out with my drink buddy and noticed the soothing blue stained glass and historic detailed windows.

I went to Azure during restaurant week with a couple of friends and we ended up getting a nice bottle of wine with our prix fixe dinners. For the four of us, dinner came to $ 220 or so. The service was pleasant and the food was good, but not memorable. My 3 star rating means I’ve tried it and wouldn’t protest going there again. One of the big buzz kills with Azure is City Bar next door. When my friend went to the bathroom, he said someone vomited in there. For $ 50 a person(including wine), I expect no riff-raff and a vomit free bathroom!

I’ve only been here for drinks, but really enjoyed myself. The atmosphere is bewitching with the blue stained glass behind the bar and the moon-like chandeliers. We showed up around 10:30 and the place was surprisingly quiet. It got a little busier as the evening progressed, but nothing compared to the line out the door at City Bar, just across the lobby.(Never been there myself, but it made the Lenox seem much less classy in a way, with giggling college party girls frolicking through the lobby to use the bathroom) Anyway, back to Azure. We were of course in search of the infused liquors that the restaurant is known for. They were delicious– the fig and vanilla-infused bourbon and rum were really really complex and interesting. I also enjoyed one of the best champagne cocktails I’ve ever had. Yum Yum Yum.

This place was solid. A group of us went there for restuarant week and everyone loved their meals. The service was good and our waitress was very helpful in picking out which options she thought were good. They were running a bit behind in seating us so the manager comped us a round of drinks in City Bar which went a long way. I’d definitely do back!

I was brought here by a friend for a post dinner drink /espresso and dessert. It just reaffirmed the fact that I love finding new places to endulge myself. My, my, my I did enjoy myself. The décor is very striking yet simple and demure with the modern blue stained glass-type bar backdrop being the main focal point. It felt very polished, yet comfortable. I had the pumpkin crème brûlée. It was as it should have been. It was the very thing I had been craving. Delicate sugar crust, creamy pumpkin custard– not overwhelming. I also sampled the flourless chocolate cake(not the most mindblowing I’ve had, but very respectable) and the lemon cake(very very light and delicate, gentle flavors). And the price was right. $ 6 for most desserts. Only gets 4 out of 5 of my precious stars– the waitstaff was unneccesarily stuffy and I did only have dessert. Holy date spot batman. A nice find.

I had no idea Azure would be just — that — damn — good. I seriously enjoyed every minute of my experience here for Restaurant Week. Of course my company had everything to do with that, but I could not have been more impressed by the extensive menu, the delicious food, personable waitress and perfect sangria! Though we did ask for some cherries to throw in the sangria, we were promptly brought a plateful. Fun. ;) At other restaurants during Restaurant Week I typically know immediately what I’ll order because there are only a handful of options — not the case here. I thought they brought us the wrong menus! We finally decided on the calamari and tomato/mozzaralla salad for apps(both excellent options), grilled swordfish with lentils and roasted peach, and pork tenderloin with risotto for entrees(double yum!), and, last but not least, the banana and chocolate profiteroles, and heavenly chocolate mousse with biscotti for desserts. I walked out of there a very happy girl.

I was staying in the hotel, so it only seemed right to try Azure for breakfast. I don’t recall the menu being too extensive, but the waffles with fresh berries was absolutely amazing. The waitstaff were very nice and accomidating since we were in a hurry to catch our flight home. Beautiful restaurant, great location, great food!
